There were two of us. One ordered the fillet; the fillet texture was tough, not what one expects when ordering fillet. The other ordered salmon; it was average at best, was too thin and a bit over-cooked.
I love Grand Street for lunch, dinner and Happy Hour! I highly recommend it to my friends. And, Steven, the waiter, is excellent!
Used to be one of our favorites, but I can no longer recommend. The last few times had spotty service and ordinary food. Last night brussel sprouts ordered by our friend, but not served when the meals arrived. When asked about it, waitress casually replied that they were out. Too late to order a replacement. My tuna was cooked until it was dried, charred pieces along side huge new potatoes, strange dish. They did offer me an alternative, the salmon salad, which was much better, but not special. My husband's trout was breaded and looked pre-prepared and frozen, then heated for the meal. It was dry and tasteless. The six of us were served huge portions of barely passable food, all for over $50/person. The staff was friendly and did express a desire to improve the situation, but the food must be better than what we were served.
Michael was excellent, as always. Perfect for business meeting.
Salmon was disappointing, granted a Saturday night noise level grew to a level that made normal table conversation a bit difficult. Excellent server. Wife’s Bill Salad excellent and quite a large portion
I’d certainly r3turn, but unless the menus change I’d give the salmon a wide berth
Great new menu items! Loved the salmon club.
The table offered was comfortably located for purposes of our business discussions, and waitress was exceptionally efficient, friendly and helpful.
As of 5/4/19, Grand Street no longer serves complimentary bread. You must now pay for it.
I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused but there are two main reasons as to why we changed our bread service. Firstly, we feel our new bread service is a better product. The dish looks better and more importantly it tastes better. Secondly, it would be both economically and environmentally irresponsible if we continued to waste as much product as we were. We've also added several new items to our menu that I'd like to invite you back in to try sometime. Thank you!
I said to my party, "What's happened to my favorite restaraunt?" Although i do not dine out often, I have always held Grand Street as my favorite restaurant especially thee Sunday brunch. This visit was just not up to the quality that I experienced in the past. I would have checked all five stars in the previous page in all categories. It's disappointing to see such a class establishment slip in food quality, service atmosphere.
The smell of bacon when you walk in the door on a Sunday morning is heavenly! And the shrimp and veggies on the buffet were a perfect Sunday brunch!
Grand Street was AMAZING! I would recommend the restaurant to anyone, especially for special occasions. I went for diner before prom with one other person, and we both enjoyed the service and the food!
I love everything about Grand Street Cafe from its location to the servers to the feed! To me, it's an exceptional experience whether I'm going alone to sit in the bar to have a drink and watch a game (because, yes, if the Royals are playing, Grand Street Cafe has it on in the bar! (Thank you!!!)) or whether I'm going in to dine with friends. Can't wait to go back again!
We love this place!
One of my favorite spots. The menu is excellent.
Our server, Avery was AWESOME! She knew we were some close friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time and had a lot of catching up to do so she didn't hover. She was very friendly and very helpful in walking through our choices for dinner. And her advice was PERFECT! Great food to go along with the great service. Restaurant was a bit noisy but obviously everyone was having a good time and enjoying their evening.
We went for Happy Hour. Ordered several items. One was the “potato skins” which had dressing and cheese on them. When they arrived, there was barely any dressing and literally three shavings of cheese. We asked the waitress for extra and when she came back, she told us we were “lucky” that the chef agreed to give us extra cheese and dressing #blessed. The white cheddar fondue with pretzels was good. We also ordered the pimento cheese, and the coconut chicken which were both mediocre.
Our server, Michael, was amazing. He was attentive without being intrusive!!!
We came to Grand Street for Sunday Brunch with another couple. We have dined there several times over the years but this was our first Brunch visit. The menu was perfect for our tastes and the combination of entrees offered along with the appetizer/ dessert buffets gave us all the options we could possibly want. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive, especially considering the volume of other diners at the noon hour.
This was one of the worse meals I have had. The other one was the night before this at Grand Street. It’s hard to believe that a city with so many outstanding restaurants that Grand Street is still in business. Service was terrible at the Sunday brunch. We ordered a couple of lattes and after over 20 minutes we still didn’t have them even though one had been sitting on the bar for a while. I canceled mine and about five minutes later the waitress brought the one that had been sitting on the bar all this time, barely warm but my friend took it any. Some of us made the mistake of ordering the buffet which had a very limited selection and they were pretty much out of everything even plates. Had to wait for everything especially the plates.
We had actually gone there the night before with other friend and I ordered the Pappardella. Big mistake. The pasta was clumped together as though it had been cooked earlier and was just sitting in a pot and then kind of warmed up and the sauce was tasteless.
One thing is for sure we will not be going back and have already let friends know how bad the food and service was
My wife and two other couples were visiting from Wichita and decided to go here for Brunch Sunday morning. No problem getting seated at our reservation time but it did get busier later. The appetizer and dessert buffet were fine, but not overly impressive. Our breakfast entrees were very good.
Food was and always is excellent. Lovely ambiance. Pasta was very good. Beet salad and salmon were excellent. We were told that going forward the restaurant would be charging $8 for a bread basket. We thought that was tacky. Prices are not inexpensive and if patrons request bread, we think it should be complimentary.
Food and service exceeded expectations. We will anxiously return with friends. Excellent experience.
We had a very pleasurable lunch, which was due, to the excellent attention of our server! Her name was Avery and she was not only knowledgeable of the menu’s selections, but the wine as well. We really enjoyed our time and will certainly return!
Delicious as usual the consistency of the food is commendable to the chef. Courteous and helpful staff a great place for a business lunch.
I booked the reservation here, somewhere new to us, for my wife’s birthday. Not a big celebration, just family (4 of us My wife and I and our 2 kids). We walked in the door and were immediately greeted. I told the host that we had a reservation and he walked away to “check and see if we have a table available”. The place was not too busy.
We were seated and felt as though we were being judged by everyone in the resturant, including the staff. We were not over-dresser nor were we under-dressed. Our waitress was very nice to inform us that drink refills (for my kids 15 & 10) “were not free”, because that matters. We were simply trying a new place for a special occasion. We are not afraid to spend money on a resturant that we’ve never tried before, it’s part of the expirence! We enjoy trying new resturants and we enjoy great food! The only saving grace to this establishment is the food was absolutely amazing!!
My son ordered the seared salmon and absolutely loved it. My daughter ordered the smoked pork chop and it was amazing! My wife ordered the Filet and I the Ribeye, which were both excellent!
I would recommend to others based only on the food, the environment and wait staff, unfortunately fall short.
Cocktails are overpriced. Our waitress was not incompetent, but nor was she friendly or seemingly very experienced. We also felt rushed. However, the food was really yummy; I enjoyed the steak and eggs thoroughly. The shrimp and hummus in particular were tasty. The dessert items on the buffet could be more inspired and varied.
Loved this restaurant! Will definitely go back again! Only thing is that it seemed like our food took awhile...not really a problem. It is worth the wait and was not an unreasonable wait for the output.
The food is always good. They offer some gluten options, wish they could have more. But the restaurant is worth a visit.
We chose Grand Street Cafe for my birthday dinner with 8 friends. Great selection of fish and meats exquisitely well prepared. Servings were very filling, especially after starters! I would visit again especially when the live music starts.
It took 30minutes for us to get our entree. We ordered 1 waffle and two strata. The strata was dry and lukewarm.Considering everything else was buffet style I thought this was a long time. The service was excellent but the kitchen let them down. I have had both lunch and dinner in Grand Street many times and have never been disappointed but I won’t return for Sunday Brunch.
The food and service are consistently great. I’ve been several time for dinner and happy hour, brunch is an extra treat and well worth the price!
It was a nice evening to be able to sit outside. It generally is very noisy inside the restaurant, more likely due to the small sitting area around the bar, which is usually pretty full. Food was wonderful as always. Service was very prompt. Will definitely continue to return to Grand Street.
Food was delicious! We had such a great time.
Hadn't been to Grand Street in quite a while! The Bill's Chicken Salad was as good as I remembered!
We loved it!
Really enjoy going to Grand Street for a nice evening out with friends. The bread and dipping "sauce" is perfect with a glass of Moscato!!
Food and service was great as usually best value on the plaza
Always a great experience!
Always a great dining experience. ❤️
We arrived at 1:00 for the Sunday brunch. The buffet was still supplied. By the end the dessert were not supplied or plates. However, they did offer us anything we wanted from the buffet to take home free! We were seated right next to the buffet. People were bumping my chair.
