I think I was expecting more based on reviews and the menu.
The starter was fantastic. We ordered the bread service. It was so yummy. It was very garlicky but very delicious.
My husband had the pork chops. It was a generous portion but they were dry. Also the sides did not pair well with the pork. There wasn’t a veggie and one of the sides was more pork...
I had the braised short ribs. They were well cooked but not well seasoned. The chef obviously likes garlic. It was all over everything we ate including the ribs. Now I like garlic but this was overload.
The only veggie choice I saw on the menu was brussle sprouts . Most people are not a fan. I like them usually but mine were seared so dark they were almost burnt.
Overall I was a little disappointed.
Service was good, cocktails were very good and we just had appetizers. But the tacos were yummy!
They appeared to be a bit short handed so we didn’t see our waitress that often but she was nice. She and many of the staff seemed stressed out.
My biggest complaint was the portion sizes of the appetizers we ordered. The fondue came with pretzels and apples. We had a 3 person party and only got 2 apple slices. I’m not a huge eater by any stretch but of the 3 apps we got I thought the portions were quite small. They were also out of the fried Brussels sprouts by 7 pm which is pretty early in the dinner service and the reason I chose grand street.
The dinner portion salad was awesome though. We also had the very rich phyllo brownie and it was plenty for 3 to share.
Overall I gave it 4 stars but maybe be a bit patient as they reopen fully after COVID.
Food was only so-so for the price. I was told that I could not have a glass of water because they didn't have enough glasses cleaned. Looked like the whole staff was caught off guard how busy they were going to be on a Saturday night. I could not wait for the meal to be over with and go home.
Always a favorite and did not disappoint, even with a reduced menu due to COVID. Kept the favorites! Our waitress, Liz, provided excellent service with hovering. Will be back!!!
The food was good but it too way too long. When our food did arrive it wasn’t hot but we were too hungry to send it back.
Had a reservation at 6:45. They did a great job with everything and it was very busy. It’s difficult to ramp back up as things open up, good work.
Noise level was so high we couldn't talk to each other at our table. Food took way too long to arrive. It was actually cold when it did come. Pasta dish was 50% red peppers and not as described. Brussel sprouts were so undercooked they could NOT be cut with a knife. They were roasted but raw. I could go on with the problems but it is probably easier to just not go back.
Long wait for ordering, bringing drinks, getting food.
Filet served alone on Undecorated plate, the beans came 10 min later.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food and service are outstanding. The menu has been shortened since the pandemic, but the selection is still varied. The soft pretzels with cheese fondue appetizer as well as the phyllo brownie for dessert are especially good.
I have been a fan of Grand Street for years. The food is always very good, the prices fair and the service excellent.
Nice, quaint, small menu but delicious! Nice ambiance, great service!
Wonderful ambiance, great food and excellent service.
Would recommend Grand Street for a very good dining experience! Choice of menu items are pretty extensive and well presented.
Love Grand Street's happy hour. We keep going back.
Great place in Lenexa. Sit in the bar as it’s very nice. Need the full menu back. Drinks are great and wine list not overpriced like Silo and others in the area!
our waiter was extremely courteous and accommodating. we went in the middle of the day after a workshop and still found food to be fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this place!!
Food and service was great!
For a place that looks nice it should definitely have better cocktails and food. Just seemed like the bartender did not know how to make the cocktails or they have watered stuff down. Food came out room temperature and was not all that great for the price. The server was trying his best but there is not mu Cj he can do about the taste of the food and drinks.
Always a great experience. Great ambiance service and the food is excellent.
Great experience. Food was amazing. Service was great. I definitely would recommend.
The food here is really great!!! There’s nothing like it anywhere nearby— people love the food at silo, but this is consistently better, more interesting, and affordable. I highly recommend happy hour— awesome value on really delicious food and drinks!
It was the perfect place for my birthday lunch. Everything was prepared to perfection,
and we loved our waitress!
Lots of menu choices, I.e. there were 6-8 things I wanted to order. Chicken Piccata was very good. Value was good, with all entrees in the $20 - $25 range. Drink pour was average on first martini, second one was markedly better. We’ll be back.
We had a reservation for 7 PM got to the restaurant at 6:30. Did not get seated. They were understaffed and not very helpful. We will not return to this restaurant again.
Arrived with a reservation and still waited an hour and 15 minutes to be seated only after we had to remind them we still hadn’t been seated. Once seated they informed us they ran out of food and only had two entrees to choose from.
The food and ambience were wonderful. The service and timeliness of the service was lacking compared to my previous visits to this location. We had a reservation time through OpenTable and were seated approximately 25 minutes past this reservation time. Service from there was slow and lacked a bit of attention throughout the meal.
Caleb was our server and he was awesome!
Always great service, wonderful food and ambiance
My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was absolutely amazing! That atmosphere was upscale, but relaxing, and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention the food was outstanding! I would definitely recommend this place and would eat here again!
Our prime rib was overcook, tuff and fatty.
This was a first bad experience.
Great food and a great atmosphere and service. It was a nice place for Valentines Day dinner.
My husband and I went for Valentines. Our service was excellent and the chef came through the restaurant to see how everyone liked their food. The food was delicious.
We had a very lovely Valentines dinner. The chicken and dumplings were superb. As was the halibut.
Love Grand Street
Love the specials
Love the ambiance
Love the owners!!!
Excellent service, wonderful food. The menu is creative and has a great variety.
Salmon salad was delicious!
Waitress did not serve 2nd glass of wine that was ordered. There were minimal tables. When she returned she said do you even want the 2nd glass...
We really enjoyed our entire experience at Grand Street Cafe. Thank you for a lovely time!
