A spirit of fancy, rhythm and ritual keeps the plush, platinum-and-champagne-hued Grand Salon humming throughout the day.
From breakfast, when a variety of French pastries abound across a central marble table, to late into the evening, long after the chandeliers have dimmed to a coquettish wattage, when nightcaps in cut-crystal tumblers are enjoyed among friends old and new.
In between, the Grand Salon will be the host of light lunches served in the sumptuous seating nooks and high-backed banquettes that flank the salon’s runway-style center aisle.
Starting at 4pm guests can pair cocktails with French-inflected small plates.
After 4pm daily, seating is available first come, first seated for non-hotel guests.
This is the most amazing venue for a lovely quiet brunch or an afternoon cocktail. The food is great and the service is excellent!
There is no better location for an important breakfast business meeting or wine/cocktail business meeting
Belgian waffle was reaaaally good but honestly overpriced. $30 for a bagel is a lot. Great ambience and maybe worth it if you eat smart or have cash to blow? Really pretty chandeliers
Was a wonderful thanksgiving dinner for my wife and I.
Teddy is the best! Fun to be with, on top of everything! We love the entire environment and the food and drink were wonderful!
Your breakfast menu suchs
Food is good and do not like the waitress come around too often. Can't have a private conversation at all, keep interrupting by the waitress. Not a present meal, giving us a feeling we have to rush and finish our food quickly and go. I'm very disappointed about services for customer feeling. The restaurant manager should give the staff with better manner training. Interrupting to your customer is not a pleasant enjoyment.
I had a coffee dessert at the Grand Salon on several occasion and loved it. First and last time for breakfast; overprices, had to ask twice for a second cup of coffee (they don't do refill $12 per cup). The toast baguette was cut in a non-traditional French way with butter too soft. Unimpressive truffle eggs (not the best presentation, hash brown and frisée lettuce???). Very disappointing experience for a birthday breakfast for my friend.
I went here for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. I love Baccarat and their restaurant is just so elegant is perfect to visit while in the city.
This elegant setting is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. It is expensive but can be managed by choosing wisely. The service is very professional and accommodating.
Beautiful setting with Baccarat chandeliers and crystal. The flowers were exquisite and the perfect spot for a quiet brunch. We went back after 4 to have a drink in the bar which was equally as beautiful.
A wonderfully refined restaurant to enjoy an excellent breakfast surrounded by Baccarat crystal and attentive service.
Love everything about that restaurant!
First time. 9 am breakfast. Magnificent room with many kinds of seating for quiet conversations. Pleasant helpful staff. Enjoyed oatmeal with warm apple compote, sausage links, delicious whole wheat toast, vanilla waffle with berries, bacon, plentiful good coffee, iced tea. Eager to return to try drinks at the appealing bar, dinner.
It was a wonderful time!
Excellent experience. Staff is wonderful and so professional, friendly and accommodating. Cuisine was good and presented beautifully.
Snobby and pricey
Elegant and exquisite
Enjoyed it, but way overpriced. My guest was shocked, even for Manhattan.
Awesome. Tiffany our server was great, nice personality and very accomodating. Nice ambiance
Food tasted great but everything was cold
The vanilla bean waffles were amazing!
Love it every time!!!
It was my second visit. We had breakfast this time. Rally enjoyed the NY style breakfast.
Incredibly rude service. We are regular customers, having had clients spend over 128 nights over the last 4 quarters at the hotel. Rude food and beverage manager interrupted client meeting to tell us we owed $300 over and above our $350 bill for a "$75 per hour minimum". He didn't bring the check beforehand, embarrassed us in front of our clients and was incredibly rude. Who heard of a retroactive charge? . He could have politely brought the bill earlier when we requested it and said we would have to order more in order to stay. Instead the food and beverage manager was actively rude to us in front of our clients. He said there was a line outside and he needed our table (which, at 5:30, was a rude, patented lie), We have told our clients from the Gulf and Europe to switch from this hotel and restaurant as a result. Overcharged $150 for two glasses of house wine with no apologies. Rude attitude will go the way of the dodo bird in the next recession - a great short! If you can't provide good service to your regular customers, cheat them and lie to them. Great strategy. Unconscionably bad service and rudeness to regular clients. Imagine how they treat other guests..
Beautiful interior, grand space. Service was polite but slow. Food was great for most everybody in my party but my mushroom soup so very mediocre. Certainly would not recommend it.
It got really crowded by 1pm( we were there for brunch).
The check was exuberant. I mean really exuberant.
For Afternoon tea make sure to tell the restaurant... opentable reservations are not for afternoon tea.
Quite frankly I am shocked at how terrible the service was. I have been coming to Baccarat for years and have never had an issue, but upon walking in we asked the hostess if we could be reseated as my grandmother has some back issues. The salon was empty and as I asked her if one table was available she turned and said "well, actually, if you would just listen to what I'm saying, you would know." After that, we were seated and my grandmother's soup came out 40 minutes before me or my mother's burger did so she was left sitting with nothing to do. For a $350 tab, I sincerely expected more, especially after years of good service.
Love the ambience so gorgeous, felt very posh. Food was excellent!
Gracious service, the most beautiful atmosphere in the city, and while not cheap, not insanely overpriced. Its something straight out of crazy Rich Asians. They deliver wonderful drinks and food without a hint of arrogance and real warmth, at least by New York standards.
Amazing tea service
The best restaurant I've ever been to.
Excellence in service, food, interior, everything.
Aline was our waitress. She was extremely nice and professional. Food was beyond amazing. We ordered the steak. It's to be discussed that this isn't steakhouse. Ive read reviews that the food is small, which it is (the steak can probably fit in the palm of your hand and the potatoes that come with the steak are as small as a literal dime however, the taste is exquisite. The Grand Salon isn't set up like a restaurant but really after it's name. A Salon. (In french means a living room) but the Grand Salon is more like an upscale living room with eclectic peices of furniture and decor.
Great place. Beautiful decor. Elegant eating wonderful service.
