Food was good. We would eat there again
Why does this review have to be at least 50 characters? Stupid.
The food was amazing- best oysters ever! Our waiter and the manager were very attentive and charming. We will be back!
GM and server Alex were friendly and helpful. Shared with us information regarding the restaurant and New Orleans .
Unfortunately any review on the food would be bad as our experience was tainted due to only what could be called poor management. Our waiter,Alex was very Good, attentive and conscientious. We were dining outside and had more than 3 rats running around our table. We had to leave and Alex our waiter saw what happened and called out the manager who explained that this is New Orleans and after dark the rats come out and there is nothing they could do. We didn't finish our meal,we paid and left and of course never to return again. Management could have rectified this situation however the only thing that was said was "we are sorry".
Visiting from out of town for French Quarter Fest. Had a fantastic dinner here on our first night in town. We were staying at the Hilton, so it was super convenient. Went back for our last dinner too even though we told ourselves we would not be repeating restaurants during our stay in NOLA. Sat outside both times and it was very pleasant. Food and service excellent.
Great for a family or big group. The food was very good. It's in a foodie town, so that's the reason for 4 stars. It's great stick to your ribs, good food.
My husband and I had one of our first dates at this restaurant. Their Bloody Marys are some of the best in the city. We made reservations, but had to wait to be seated because the person doing the seating seemed to have double duties. It was at a busy time, but inefficiently handled. We are locals and now know that there are better places for NOLA seafood, but we had nice memories of Grande Isle and chose to go there. We each had one Bloody Mary. We ordered the crabmeat dip which was delicious. I would go there for the drinks and the dip again. However, the oysters are priced for tourists, so we chose to order something other than raw oysters. Pricing for outstanding oysters is much better at many local restaurants. My husband ordered 1/2 fried oysters and 1/2 shrimp with French fries. The oysters were decent, but the shrimp and fries were heavily salted and inedible. I tried them after my husband stopped eating. I had a house salad with fried oysters. It was decent, but overloaded with onions. My husband had a Diet Coke and I had a glass of water. Our bill was $85.00 before the tip. We did tip our server as she deserved it and was attentive. If the food had been excellent, we might have been less upset. We have also eaten at more expensive restaurants, but the quality was worth it.I’d say save your money and head out to one of the locally touted and rated restaurants.
Server was very friendly. Even showed us how to clean the crawfish in the boil we order for an appetizer. Overall food was just ok and it cost us the same as our trip to GW Fins. We didn't feel the food was nearly on the same level.
The Grand Isle restaurant was a GREAT place for breakfast. The food and the service were amazing and the views were spectacular.
We love Grand Isle and go there whenever we are in NOLA. We miss some of the staples on their menu such as the Turtle soup. The Chefs have changed, but the place remains good overall. Fresh oysters, great crawfish, good fresh gulf fish. And those frozen beer taps are just fabulous. Great engaging wait staff who pay attention to what is needed at the table.
The food was very good - both of us had the shrimp and grits, and my friend also had an appetizer of oysters. The bread pudding dessert was excellent. The service also was good, although it took some banter from us to get our waiter to lighten up a bit :) We did end up thinking he was great, though...and very attentive to filling water glasses, checking in about the food, etc. Overall, a very nice meal in a very nice, casual place.
Our meal was delicious!!!! Our cost time in NOLA and the food here was great!!! Thank you!!!
We went for lunch, its in a good location, close to Harrahs and the convention center. Great halibut fish special of the day. Husband enjoyed the gumbo. Server was a nice guy, but we ordered raw oysters, he brought char grilled oysters with cheese on it. It looked good, but returned it, because we really wanted raw oysters. When in New Orleans again, we'll probably be back for happy hour
We had a fantastic experience and owe it all to our server, Alex. He was kind, polite and very sweet to us. The food was wonderful and on time (even though we were informed that there was a big party in the rear area).
All in all a great evening.
Wonderful evening dining on the patio
The server was good. The food was good but not great like it used to be. We used to make this the first stop after settling in at Harrah's.
Friendly staff, tasty food, seafood platter overpriced
Grilled oysters were great, service was good.
I came here while in the area for business. They had happy hour with what looked like great deals ($0.75 raw oysters and half-priced cocktails). Oysters can only be purchased as six or twelve so I got six. They were very large and good tasting. I personally prefer smaller oysters. I did have a glass of champagne for $6 that was very nice. I added the grilled Caesar with grilled shrimp. The cost of this was $22! So I got half a romaine heart plus four over cooked shrimp. The croutons are made from ciabatta which sounds good but these weren’t. They were incredibly difficult to chew because they were between chewy and crunchy. My entire meal (one drink, six oysters and Caesar with shrimp) with tip was $42.
My server was very nice and brought me everything I needed. At the same time, they are super slow. I was there early so not many people there but the service was still slow. If I had been in a hurry, I probably could have let them know and hopefully would have gotten faster service. That wasn’t the case for me this time.
We had a late lunch at Grand Isle. We wanted to try the appetizers and everyone was delicious. We started with raw oyster, which were salty and so good. Next we tried the smoke fried oysters. They were to die for!!! We also had the crispy fried calamari and that was just as good too. We will definitely eat there again. Service was outstanding.
Went with colleagues attending a conference at the Hilton. Made last minute reservations for a Friday night but turns out we didn't need them. The place wasn't very full at all, but that was fine with us. The food was excellent, from the appetizers that included oysters and calamari, to the dinners (there were five of us and each had something different and everyone enjoyed their food). I had the fisherman's stew and it was excellent. They even divided up the check (including dividing up the appetizers). Excellent food, solid service, overall recommended.
We were greeted and seated immediately. Drinks took a little long to get to us, and refills were a little slow. But, food was tasty and reasonably priced.
Great service for New Years Eve. Tasty cocktails and loved the tuna tartare and shrimp po boy.
The red fish in the half shell was great!
Awesome! Oust server, Geocomo, was great!!!!
Food was just Ok
The food was good but they marked us as a no show on open table (we were seated 5 minutes early) and our validated parking was no good
Not as good as they were in the pass. This is the first time I sent a dish back
We have been here a few times and this was by far the best visit. The excellent service was noticeable right away and all of our food was delicious. I recommend making a reservation in advance as this area gets very busy during holidays and other special events.
I needed gluten-free so our waiter offered to make the Shrimp Caminada po-boy with rice instead of bread. It was great!
We always eat here when you come to Furlong Street during the Holidays. It get a bit crowded at that time of the year so I usually make a reservation. We can have some new Orleans classics like Shrimp and grits and there is a nice selection for the kids menu. I like the small plates options for a couple of dishes. The food is not too fussy and always fresh.
Our food was incredible, our waiter was absolutely “on target”, service was great and location was close by. We shared an order of char grilled oysters and then each had a salad and the “redfish on half shell” all of which were incredible and then we shared a piece of lemon icebox pie. I have to say that the char grilled oysters and the redfish were some of the best I have ever eaten!
Couldn’t be happier
We are locals and have not tried this restaurant and finally decided to do so out of convenience. Very poor service from the moment we walked in the door and food was not worth the price at all. Very slow kitchen as well. Subpar compared to all the restaurants even within the Harrah’s area complex.
The food was good . Slow service
I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading reviews and checking out their menu. We booked reservations for 7pm with another couple and got to the restaurant around 650 pm. We sat down and ordered drinks and 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters. The drinks took way too long and they brought a dozen oysters out. This was the beginning of one of the worst evenings of restaurant service we’ve ever experienced. We waited for over an hour for two steaks, a burger and a fish. The server did a poor job of checking up on us and we had to glad her down several times for a status. She told us several times that it wasn’t her fault and a manager finally came out to tell us that they had an issue with the mashed potatoes. How about you ask us if we’d prefer something else instead of having us wait for over an hour? Our server came back out and offered us a free round of drinks but at that point we’d reached our tipping point. Although we told her we were ok they still brought us out another drink. The food finally came out and it was ok. I’m sure our experience tainted the rating a little but we were starving and ready to eat and leave. The manager came back out several times to apologize and it was too late. She should’ve comped the entire bill for this hot mess. We ordered a dessert to go and the bill so we could get back to our hotel and relax. Our server managed to mess up our dessert order and another person came in to bring the missing toppings and ice cream. The bill of course came and was wrong. We were charged for a filet mignon we never ordered and for a dozen oysters! I told our server our bill was a mess and the manager came back out and updated the bill for our two entrees. She gave us her card and asked us to come back. She could’ve gone a long way to making it right by comping the bill. I told we wouldn’t be back and provided feedback on how bad the service and experience was tonight. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Go! You won’t regret it.
Enjoyed my time at the restaurant. Attentive wait staff. Food was delicious. Will go again. Great location
