Four hosts were checking in patrons. None seemed to know what the others were doing. It was a chaotic experience. Walk in guests were seated before those with reservations. Our server was very nice, but she did not have the support she needed. I witnessed her ask, then plead for help from another employee, who declined to help her. Our food arrived barely warm. Be aware this restaurant automatically adds a 20% gratuity to the tab. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Our experience was good. Our waitress was amazing considering they were short staffed. She was kind, professional, and you would never know they were short staffed based on the service she provided. Our food was tasty and relatively quick to our table. I rated a 4 star because we were seated right beside the entrance and a consistent flow of people standing right by our table.

I honestly wasn’t sure whether the food would be good given the location in the heart of the casino/convention center area. To my surprise, the food was outstanding. Having eaten at both Compere Lapin and Briquette (higher priced) in the recent past, Grand Isle’s food was far superior. High quality grilled oysters, soft shell crab, gulf shrimp and delicious pecan pie. Very friendly waitress who took great care of us and gave our service a personal touch. We will definitely go again!

Fantastic meal, from salad to dessert. Salmon was nicely seasoned and the roasted corn grits were a nice complement. Giacomo’s service was just right, prompt but not intrusive. Nice variety on the wine list, including by the glass. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

OK so the food and the service are great. (This is my 5th or 6th visit here) It is the first time I was Required to make a reservation on Open Table. What is not so great is you MUST have a reservation AND Leave a credit card to get your reservation. And then there was the "Threat" That if you did not show up ( 5 min grace period) you would be charged a "no show fee." (This was after I put in my card number) We showed up early (15mins) And were seated immediately. As we were seated towards the back I counted a total of 5 tables with people seated including my party. (With a few people sitting around the bar.) If that is the max your "happy to be here Staff" can handle you might need to regroup and figure out a new plan. Then there is the automatic 20% gratuity charge added to your bill. (Not an option) So now you can also dictate what I must pay for a tip? If service is bad you do not get 20%. If service is great as it was here you might get a larger % tip. But to dictate to you customers what they MUST pay is also not a good business plan. So The food is great. The service is great. So if you want to accept this restaurant 'rules' go ahead and give it a try. For me? There are plenty of places to eat in New Orleans and I think I will try other places.

I don't expect customers to completely understand what holding tables for reservations looks like and I am not going explain every empty table to people when they come in. That gets really old. I think you are right though and we may have gotten a bit rigid in our post covid era with establishing rules. I thank you for pointing that out and we will be looking at that this week. Jeff

The crawfish boil was very good. The blackened flounder was delicious, the best part of the meal. The Creole pasta was only ok. The bread was rubbery, possibly because it was sitting under a lamp for 18 minutes. Service was not good, brought my entree 2 minutes after my 2 pounds of crawfish, even though I specifically asked to have it brought out later so I could enjoy my appetizer. Nothing provided for me to clean my hands until after I went to the bathroom and washed them. Only one small bowl provided for the shells, so I stacked super carefully (almost made it). Check was brought over with a 20% tip already added, which isn't fair to the customer. Tips should be earned, it promotes this type of bad service if it is not. Then, the server disappeared for 15 minutes and couldn't be found. I had to track down a manager to get out of there. The manager was aware of what happened but didn't stop it when it happened. She chose to allow the service by telling the server to put my food under the lamp, knowing my app just came out. She even admitted it when I pulled her to close out my check. I blame the manager. She told me she would take the tip off the check, but I didn't let her.

The shrimp boil and Crawfish boil was nice t good. Only had 2 flavors, salty and spicy. The shrimps were overcooked and we waited 45mins for it. There's a mandatory 20% gratuity included, which I don't feel the service provided accounted to the 20%.

Hot crab dip was Uber salty so we did not eat much. The husband loved the large oysters on the half shell. I had the shrimp and grits which also had an etoufee on top. It was very flavorful but the shrimp over cooked. Make a reservation if you go on Saturday night. It seems like most people come for the oysters or the shrimp or crawfish boil. Nice and attentive staff which is good since they auto charge 20% tip.

We were really excited to eat here based on the reviews. The service was horrible. Our waitress never checked in with us, our food took forever to arrive. It took forever to get drinks, and then when we saw a mouse on the floor which has never happened at any restaurant it was laughed at and normalized. We were so uncomfortable after that and won’t be back.

Had an excellent late lunch! Service and food were wonderful! Went with all appetizers-crawfish beignets, crab dip, ju ju shrimp and the smoked oysters with that slow burn Tabasco sauce!! Had the brownie for dessert - nothing special There was a big group by us that was kind of loud but other than that, really nice. I would definitely recommend and come again!

I really liked my meal here. Their cocktail list had quite a few of drinks that I wanted to try so I will have to go back in order to do so. I had the Blakeneded gulf fish which also came with crawfish tails in a cream sauce- it was very good. All in all, I liked the restaurant a lot.

This place was so good! We wanted to go somewhere other than the French quarter for our last dinner in New Orleans and we were so glad we found this place. It was quiet and cozy and surprisingly not busy at all. We started with the hot crab dip which was amaaaazing! I had the shrimp caminada po boy and my husband has the crawfish pasta and we both loved it. Definitely rivaled any other restaurant we went to in the busier more touristy areas and way more reasonably priced. Plus all the staff was super friendly! Would definitely go back
