Phenomenal place. The host staff really worked to accommodate our date. Food was excellent.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Service was a bit slow but professional.
The food was great, as was the back patio. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable and we ended up having a substantial amount of conversation with her (in a good way - not the annoying way).
Excellent meal, my wife and I came for a special dinner. Cocktails were great, staff was friendly and made us feel welcome.
Yummy food good service
It was perfect.
awesome place, only issue (albeit it was a friday night) it go loud and hard to talk during dinner around 7pm
For some reason I thought it would have a view. Not sure where I got that information. It's a lovely bar-restaurant. Very dark, perfect for a date. They were playing music in the restaurant that was a little loud but not enough to complain about. The night we went, they were training someone in the kitchen and it took a long time for our dinners to arrive.
Overall the food was very good. I ordered the clam casino, which I thought had too much bacon. But it was yummy. The chicken pot pie was also delicious. Burgers didn't disappoint.
Might be worth going back in the warmer weather and sit outside.
A true gastropub. Food exceeded expectations. Many vegetarian options. Great cocktails. I was happy it was quiet on a Friday night. But it's too good to be that quiet. Grand Ferry is a winner on the Williamsburg waterfront.
Went there for my Halloween Birthday celebration and we had a blast! Our waitress was not only dressed in a fab Halloween outfit, she was very attentive and pleasant! Food overall was very good and 1/2 priced oysters delish! Fun eve! Would definitely recommend to friends!
Food was fresh and delicious. Ambiance was cozy & quiet. Will definitely return.
Our waitress was amazing! I would definitely go again.
Our family of five really enjoyed this restaurant! The bartender warmly welcomed us, and our server was genuinely nice and attentive. The special of risotto and shrimp was good, and others enjoyed the fish and chips! Nice atmosphere, too! Thank you for a pleasant evening!
When you walk in you feel at home, welcoming decor and great staff. The cocktail menu is impressive and consistently high quality, the food is great american style food done with attention to detail. It feels like your local but has a touch of class.
I’ve been a few times and always try to order something new. The burger, the oysters, the fried chicken sandwich - regardless of what I’ve eaten, it’s been delicious. As for drinks, ask about something you haven’t tried before and the bartender will have no problem guiding you to something you’d like. He suggested a wine I initially would have strayed away from just because I wasn't familiar with it and it was exactly what I was craving! It was obvious the staff know about what they serve. The menu, the service, and the Tavern itself feel thoughtful instead of pretentious which sometimes hard to find in Brooklyn dining.
I came here for dinner with my husband, and we had a fantastic experience. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was equally memorable. You have to try the burger! I will absolutely recommend this place to my friends and family.
Very excited to have tried this local spot. Went in on a Friday night and it was the perfect (quiet) vibe me and my friend wanted. A spot at the bar, oysters, and friendly chat with the bartender was all very nice. And the burger was killer! Have already told anyone who will listen how much I enjoyed the evening. Will be back (probably tonight) with my boyfriend.
The restaurant is intimate, cocktails are delicious and strong, wine list very thoughtfully curated and the food is excellent. On top of that the staff is super cool and the music is the best I've heard in any restaurant - a lot of thought has been put into this establishment and it shows.
We always have a great time here. Perfect neighborhood place with just the right design touches without being over the top. Plus, bourbon.
Grand Ferry Tavern is a nice little find in Williamsburg, right off of the East River Ferry. I went there mostly for the shellfish and was not disappointed. We got there a bit early and asked for a table outside. While we waited we had a drink at the bar, which serves a wide range of craft cocktails and gave a nice start to the evening. The outside area is a covered porch and i definitely recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice.
They do a sampler of a dozen oysters ($35) giving you 4 varieties that change daily. We had the Gulf Shirmp ($12) as well. These were very good, but you only get 4 for the order, which is a disappointing (in fairness, it is clearly labeled on the menu that you get 4). They are really good and have a nice kick, but i'd have liked there to be a few more. Next we had the Blue Cheese Fondue ($12) which was very nice. It was creamy melted blue cheese, served like you would see queso. It is served with little toasted bits of bread, including a raisin bread that is really good. They don't give you a lot of the bread, but bring more when you run out. Finally we had the Skate Wing special ($?). This was a lightly coated and sauteed skate wing severed with green beans. This was very light and almost flakey, but in a good way, and the portion was huge. We ended up leaving a lot of this on the plate, but only because we were stuffed.
Also they had a good wine selection including several options for champagne/perseco at a relatively good price point.
All in all it was a very nice experience, and i highly recommend it. One note is that it isn't cheap, but it also isn't super expensive. Be ready to pay a little more, but again, it isn't crazy.
I was looking for a last minute saturday night reservation and chose Grand Ferry Tavern from the options available. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised as the vibe is so lovely, warm and cozy. The cocktails were a mixed bag -- my drink was great my husband's was not. The food was delicious -- the hightlight was the Peacemaker sandwich which was legit (and Hubs is from the south). Bill was totally reasonable and I will absolutely go back.
I had a great time here with my friend from out of town. We sat at in the dining room on a rainy night (though their patio is lovely!) and caught up over grilled oysters and fried clams - Yum! All the food was excellent, especially the clam roll, which my friend had. First we shared the bitter caesar and I made her share the fondue too because it was such a gloomy night and I needed the warm comfort food. Worth it.
The service here is great. The servers are really kind and helpful; the bartenders are funny and cute and have great recommendations. The whole restaurant is beautiful, with an impressive wood bar, and they have a super wine selection. Can't wait to go back during the day and drink a bottle of white on their patio with a book!
Food was mediocre in spite of having an appealing menu, service was dreadful, we waited nearly an hour for our brunch order which arrived cold...very disappointing experience
Really enjoyed sitting on their recently opened back patio. Well curated collection of beer and cocktails. The oysters were great and overall the food was pretty impressive, but on a warm spring night, the patio stole the show.
Hey All - I didn't have many things off of the menu but what I did have, I enjoyed. I had a dozen oysters, a great red wine, sea salt fries and a kale, brussel sprouts, apple salad. The prices were moderate and the service was excellent which made it a great experience.
Everything was amazing! Get the wild
Mushroom shepards pie!
I love the clams casino, it is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
