Appetizers and wine were good but food was average.
This was our first visit and one of few in person dining experiences during the COVID era and it was great. We had apps, wine, entrees, and shared a dessert. The time from order to receiving our items was faster than expected-they even had our entrees out while we were just halfway through the apps, which I LOVED since I hate downtime between courses.
We were quite pleased with the atmosphere and noise level and will look to be back again.
Such a great meal and wine choices! Excellent service for a nice, quiet dinner with friends. Cant wait for my return visit.
Very nice atmosphere. We ordered the beef and the lamb, both exceptional and presented very nicely.
Will be coming back.
Great service! Great food!
We had a lovely evening at Grand Cru. The service was outstanding, and the food amazing. There were 4 of us and we each got something different. My salmon was perfectly cooked. Can't wait to return!
First time having an espresso martini and it was delish! Their happy hour is also awesome at great price point!
I had requested outdoor seating through Open Table, but it turns out that was not available.
executive lunch under $20 for french onion soup and an entree - what a deal! the soup is among the best I've ever had - and I lived in PARIS!!!
great lunch and happy hour spot.
Good menu choice ms and tasty food. Service slow - wine ordered to enjoy with the entree ended up arriving after the entree was eaten.
Food was great, server helpful. Only issue was lack of outdoor seating which OpenTable offered.
First time there, we had a wonderful experience! Our server Victor was very good. They had some staffing issues and everything including dessert took 2x as long to come out. Plus the restaurant was very busy because it is a popular spot in this area. It is a cozy dinner spot specializing in French style offerings and a wide selection of wines, of course. Victor was apologetic about our long waits but when the food came out it was worth it. Starters, salads and the main course were all prepared great. Blending and layering of flavors was well done and the sauces were terrific especially in the garlic shrimp. Terrific presentations as well. The dessert we tried took forever to come out and I was a bit dissapointed in the overall texture (came out soupy or watery) and flavor of the Coffee Granite was not as intense as I was expecting. Victor took off the dessert to make-up for the long wait times between courses, so we appreciated his effort. It was overall a great date night and we will be back to try the other delicious looking items on the menu.
Love the menu. Many choices, both small plates & regular.
Delicious food, great ambience, attentive service!
Great food and a quiet place on an afternoon at 1:00. Lovely for chatting with friends.
This is the second time I have chosen Grand Cru for a business dinner and it is excellent. Great location, terrific food and excellent service. Perfect!
Celebrated an anniversary- quiet and romantic. Delicious food from appetizers to entree.
This is our first time going to Grand Cru in years. We remember when the place was very tiny and it was super cozy. This time, the food arrived lukewarm at best. The fondue was lukewarm and did not taste one bit like Gruyere cheese. The escargot were tasty. The duck was terrible. The sweet potato was cold. My wife's lamb shank tasted like it had gone from frozen to microwave. It just was not the same experience we had previously. We will not be returning.
Don’t ever have Turkey dinner at this place. The meat was dried, stuffing wasn’t moist, the gravy was not flavorful. On top of that we waited over 35 minutes for the entree which should have been pre-prep despite only 3 other tables with customers. WTH
Very nice place - excellent service, good food. Would recommend
If you’re looking for the perfect date night spot this is it. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Good food, good wine, not as expensive as I was expecting.
My wife came in later than expected at Reagan and we used OpenTable to find a nearby restaurant. We had never been to Grand Cru Wine Bar & Bistro but now cannot wait to return. We had a lovely table in a quiet corner of the restaurant - on a Saturday night no less - and the server was pleasant, helpful and available but not too available as to be obnoxious. The wine list was good and the two different Pinot Noirs we had were each good. We both had duck, me a duck breast with sweet potato puree and Brussel sprouts and my wife a Duck and Mushroom Strudel. Both were superb as was the shared warm Brussel sprout salad and the volcano cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The cost of the meal was reasonable and we wish we lived nearer Grand Cru as this could easily be a frequent stop. Just like MacArthur, we shall return.
We enjoyed the food and wine selection. We definitely will come again.
Excellent meal, as always! We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. Martinis, charcuterie and cheese made an excellent dinner.
Food was just nasty!
Main course was delicious. My girlfriend and I had the lamb and duck. It was cooked perfectly. We had the garlic shrimp with chickpeas as an appetizer. It was just the right amount of food to keep us hungry for the main course. I enjoy how they have wine bottles around the entire restaurant, all for sale too. I would definitely go here again.
We had a wonderful meal on the lovely patio. It was a little chilly and our server explained that they are unable to put out patio heaters - some fire hazard. Such a shame. It could be perfect thru the winter with just a little bit of extra heat. But we will be back for either a warmer evening or once we feel comfortable dining inside.
Inattentive service, fairly mediocre food, decent outdoor seating. I am understanding of challenges restaurants are facing but it is what is. Not very good.
We waited over two hours for our order. With a 6pm reservation! When we politely
Inquired about the status, we were told there were delays. It was a party of four and two of the entrees were salads! Unbelievable. We finally got the order to go - but debated just paying and leaving without the food. Terrible service. Unbelievably slow. Don’t go to this place if you expect to be served food. Awful.
Very sorry for your experience. Despite having had an ongoing ad for cooks for several months, we have been unable to find any qualified. On Saturday the one we had coming for a stage didn't show up, and one that was scheduled quit, leaving one sous chef in the kitchen for the whole restaurant. He is quite good, but cooking for several hundred people by yourself is beyond anyones skills. You can tell from the other reviews that it is an anomaly.
Food was delicious and the wine options are pretty good as well
Great outdoor dining space
Love that they don’t try to do everything. Very good at what they do. Limited but excellent menu. Full bar. Great service.
Victor is amazing!
It was nice weather so we sat outside. The food and service were excellent. I recommend the escargot and the cheese platter.
My husband and I had our first date at Grand Cru in October 2015. Since then, we always go back every October to re-celebrate that special event. This year, the Grand Cru staff surprised us with a complimentary champagne and dessert to honor our celebration.
In addition to the great service, we love the menu - especially the duck breast and scallops.
Grand Cru was very goog with outdoor seating and an excellent wine menu
Duck confit was very good
Scallops were very good
Shrimp andouille pasta was good expect something spicy kick
Brussel sprout salad was good
Dining on the outside patio was lovely. The food was for the most part very good, though my rib-eye was just so-so. Service was polite and quick, and our waiter was very kind to replace without request and free-of-charge a specialty drink I did not care for. However, things like steak knives were not supplied and there were few opportunities to get the attention of the waiter when something was needed. The by-the-glass wine selection was great, and we really enjoyed sampling with the wine flights. We’d definitely go back again.
So disappointed. I live a block away and wanted to enjoy dining outside. I have been to this restaurant a few times prior and was never impressed but thought I would try again.
The quality of food was terrible which were suggestions from the server. The Beef Wellington was dry, over cooked and tasteless. Nothing represented beef Wellington with the presentation. Our other items ordered were not very good as well.
I ordered wines from the happy hour menu and the selections were not very good. The restaurant was very busy and the server seemed overwhelmed. She was very apologetic.
I would not recommend this restaurant, which is rare for me to say being in the business.
Our only complaint was that service members were not wearing masks.
