Grand Cru Wine Bar & Bistro
The menu at Grand Cru consists of an impressive array of tapas items, world class entrees, fondue and hand crafted desserts. the idea is equisite food paired great wines at a price you can afford. But if you are in the mood to eat at home, stop by and pick up a bottle of wine to go.

Great food as always - expensive and small portion sizes but that's pretty typical of French restaurants and this one is no exception. We sat outside and had to wear jackets as they didn't have their heat lamps set up yet. Hopefully they will do that soon as they have an awesome outdoor seating area in a courtyard setting. Works great anytime but particularly during Covid.
We enjoyed a balmy evening enjoying dinner with our friends. We really love the ambiance - especially the lights on the unbrellas. Nice touch! We felt like a private party enjoying each other, the food and a most lovely evening. The service is pretty good as is the food. This is a neighborhood favorite and we are just glad they can keep their doors open during Covid.

Lovely patio area (not for cold, wet weather) in a courtyard off the street, delicious food, tables spaced apart
We had a delicious meal in a lovely outdoor patio setting.
Grand Cru's food and service are always great -- and it has the best outdoor dining setting that we have found during the pandemic.
It was an incredible restaurant for those who very much enjoy wine. So many choices, from individual glasses to wine flights. Great service, fantastic food, exotic wines. Marvelous for my first date
I love this place. A hidden gem. The food is amazing. We had the fondue to start then I had the rock fish (divine) and my husband had the braised short rib. There was nothing left on our plates which has to be a good sign! I have only given a “good” for the ambience because of the necessity of social distancing. This restaurant has to full and busy to appreciate it even more. Despite that, the lights were lowered which added to the ambience
I recommend grad cru to all my friends. JHububjbhvhvhvhvhvhvgv

Great outdoor dining with fabulous wine and food. The cocktails were great too!
This is our neighborhood place for meetups. The menu has something for everyone and they have a beautiful outdoor area with just the right number of tables. There is a fountain nearby and that adds to the ambiance.
Our service wasn’t up to par this time but perhaps they had some folks out sick. One never knows what’s happening behind the scenes.
Lovely evening outdoors, we could almost forget there is a pandemic. The wine was wonderful, the crab cakes too salty.
Food was ok. I can't believe they charge for bread. Service was good and price point was moderate.
Excellent service. Steak Frit was amazing! Warm bread was so yummy!
Super friendly staff and pleasant to dine outside - even with a little drizzle - best French option in Arlington.
This place has a wonderful patio. Perfect for current covid-19 pandemic condition for outdoor dining, service is 5 stars and the food & wine is high quality. Love Gran Cru!
Ask if someone wants the check before just bringing it. I ordered a $100 bottle of wine, had dinner, and then, as it appeared it was gonna rain, I asked to move inside. The waitress looked at her phone and said “well it looks like it’ll be about 30 minutes before the rain comes” so I ordered desert. By the time dessert was over she simply brought the check. Keep in mind this was at 7:15pm nowhere near closing time. That’s unacceptable and a real disappointment considering I spent over $300 by myself at your restaurant less than a week ago.
Grand Cru was a wonderful experience - in terms of ambience, food and service. We arrived and decided to sit outside as the night was beautiful. We were socially distanced from other patrons and immediately our server brought us our water and silverware along with the menus. Oh, how to choose. I had to forgo my Champagne Cocktail for medical reasons (who actually has one on their menu these days?) and while we debated what to eat we had the utterly delightful and interestingly mixed bread basket with the unsalted (YEAH) butter. After a bit, my husband chose the Scallops, which came atop melted Leeks accompanied by roasted cauliflower, and capers, golden raisins, and shallots. I tried a part of his scallop and I have never had one sweeter. Because I could substitute Rosemary French Fries for the Beet Risotto, I had the perfectly cooked Salmon along with THE best green beans I have ever eaten in a restaurant. And the mustard cream sauce that went with the Salmon was just the right touch. The portions were perfect and did not leave us wanting. We were so dead tired we didn't even have dessert and the next day my husband even question why I didn't have my always desired French Onion Soup - something I never ever miss - just call it traveler's exhaustion. Next time, I'm having appetizers, soup and dessert by making a reservation for the second day we are in Arlington!
Great outdoor seating. Food is fresh and reliable. Service safe and unrushed.
Great food and service. The menu was amazing as well, it was hard to decide. My only criticism is that the cheese board only had 2 kinds of cheese. I think there should more that 2 types of cheese.
We had a lovely evening at Grand Cru Wine Bar & Bistro, celebrating a friend's birthday! The weather was great, wonderful waiter, fabulous wine list and excellent food. We could not have asked for a nicer time!
Incredible service! I wish I would have remembered our servers name because she was PHENOMENAL and SO thoughtful for our anniversary! She really made an incredible experience and we will be coming back
The service was great and the food was excellent. We had appetizers, salads and main dishes and all were delicious.
The food was sub par. We ordered Brie in a dough, and the dough came out browned, but the Brie was cold. This can only mean the Brie was frozen. They denied it was frozen. We also ordered the escargot. It tasted like cardboard and my shy spinach. We sent everything back and were too afraid to order anything else.
Enjoyed Sunday night special fondue/
Great food and service. Outdoor seating is probably the nicest in Arlington. Felt very safe during COVID times.
Great food. My wife and I celebrated my birthday there and it was great. Of course, with pandemic, there were only 3 couples dining, no issue with social distancing. Of course with only 6 people, there was no problem with noise, etc.
This is a hidden gem!!
Always the best food, wine, and service :)
Food was too expensive for the portion sizes. Also, the quality of the food was not on par with the price of the food.
A long-time favorite, and though we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, we did experience an unusual disagreement with management over the wording on the wine list. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of the section clearly headed "Or Just Buy a Bottle." This section of the menu was in the middle of the wine-flights section, nevertheless, was clearly titled. When we inquired about a bottle of Sav Blanc listed but unavailable, we were told a substitute would be the same or a lower price ($17). Imagine our surprise when our bottle was listed on our bill at $34. After discussions with management, they conceded that the menu labeling might be misleading but did not adjust our bill; we still paid $34. This was a very rare unpleasant experience, and I do hope the restaurant clears up the menu.
Lovely courtyard dining area. Wonderful food, terrific wine list.
My husband and I were looking forward to the evening.
Food and wine were good, our server was great.
After paying and receiving our check, my husband noticed that my credit card wasn't returned. I asked our server about the card, she went back to find it, but my card was gone! Jessica looked, I helped looking for the card and the manager.
The manager didn't seem to be to apologetic, she told me that I would have to call the bank and work it out with them. She took my phone number and told me she would call me if the card would show up, she never did. She just wanted to get rid of us.
Very disappointing and non professional behavior.
Onion soup is the best in town...
We greatly appreciate your review and feedback! Thank you!
Exceptional food and service, this best spot in town for wine!
Hi Kiefer! Thank you for taking time and writing review! We appreciate it!
I made a reservation for outside. But when I called to reconfirm they would not confirm the outside table. Why make a reservation if they cannot be honored? You should fully disclose that reservations for the outside cannot be made but it’s on a first come first serve basis.
My 90 mother lives in the Jefferson, so nice to have a great restaurant that she can walk too. Service is always with a smile, love this place!
We love Grand Cru. My husband and I had our first date there and we have been going back ever since.
Consistently delicious with helpful waitstaff. The french onion soup is fantastic, and we love the mushroom orzo! The wine flights are fun.
