Well let me first say Moses was our server and HE WAS AMAZING ON ALL LEVELS !!!!!!
Now the place as a whole - great history and architecture!! Beautiful building valet was fast and easy
Food was ok - I visit allot of steakhouses and this was par for a non steakhouse
But I ate about five bites of my steak and I got it medium but the middle was RAW ! The Mgr comes over and asked what was wrong , she stated omg that is raw, I said yes it is. NOW get this … instead of asking to make me a new one- or take it off the bill …. SHE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO TAKE IT HOME AND FIRE IT BACK UP AT HOME??????????? then she said she was going to take it off the bill - I get the bill and it is - 14.00 not the 47.00 I paid for a steak to eat with my wife on her birthday.
So I asked Moses and he didn’t get it either so he went to talk to the Mgr again - they sent home back throwing him under the bus and telling him to tell me that see they took 14.00 off.
I felt so bad for him I just paid and left him a big tip !!!!!
MOSES WAS AND IS THE MAN IF YOU GO THERE
Waitress was attentive and very accommodating
Sunday brunch is alway great, however we went to their special dinners for Restaurant Week. My husband had the Swordfish and loved the way it was prepared and would recommend it. I had the Sirloin steak with Scalloped potatoes. The steak was like eating old shoe leather. The Scalloped potatoes were extremely greasy. I brought home leftovers which I forgot to refrigerate when I got home. Needless to say, I wasn’t sorry when I noticed this morning I would have to throw it away from leaving it out all night!
Great food and our server Courtney was pleasant and attentive. A wonderful evening.
Birthday brunch with friends. Everything was fresh and delicious
Food and service was great
We had horrible service, which is saying something for a buffet. Saving grace we’re the donuts, a nearby server who helped us after no one came by for 30 minutes to greet us, and the valet workers who should probably wait tables. We will never visit this place again for brunch.
Service was terrible ! We wait 20 minutes for a drink then 45 minutes for soup !! And soup was served cool. My friends steak served cold and my crispy duck over cooked 😔
We went for restaurant week with two other couples and the food choices were all amazing ( apps chili shirmp, baked brie, seafood pesto pasta, peppercorn steak and swordfish, butternut squash soup and dessert key lime pie, peanut butter balls, and creme brulee all delicious ). One in our party ordered off the menu " duck and he said it was delicous ". The view of the city at night added to the ambiance., we had requested seats by the water. Such a beautiful night with friends. Inside is gorgeous with its ceilings adorn with old tile and architectural wood work. We had forgotten how nice this place was. Excellent service. from our waitress and we were not hurried, which we enjoyed. We will definitely go back.
Wonderful loved the views and food was amazing. I surprise my friend and took him here for his birthday the atmosphere was perfect. The banana foster was scrumptious as well and I don’t even like bananas.
Beautiful restaurant with incredible view of the river. The Tuscan Swordfish was delicious and we enjoyed our cocktails. Service was minimal; the restaurant was packed and they seemed short-staffed. Overall a great experience, I would recommend.
Love restaurant week! Good value and terrific service!
The food was great and our waitress was wonderful
Food, service and atmosphere was great
Two of the meals were good, the third meal was over cooked, and very dry, sent back, and it took so long, we canceled the third meal.it was removed from the bill, but still very disappointing
The most beautiful restaurant in Pgh with a very professional wait staff.
Most food items were very good while some items that were well prepared should have been warmer.
I went to the Grand Concourse for their Pittsburgh Restaurant week menu and was disappointed with the food. I got the sirloin steak with scalloped potatoes and it was extremely bland and the steak was chewy. My boyfriend got the Swordfish and it too wasn’t great. The squash soup was delicious yet the crème brûlée was subpar. Overall, I’ve gotten better food for the same price or less at other restaurants in Pittsburgh.
Good food,good pricing
We came for Restaurant week and we were very disappointed in the entrees. one was bland and the other too salty and overcooked. The salad was good as was the dessert and coffee. Our server Missy was great.
Our favorite special occasion spot! We enjoy it more every time!
I’ve been there many times. Everything was excellent as usual!
We have been to Grand Concourse many times, and our latest experience being consistent with the others. The outer venue with the view to the city was wonderful (as usual), as well as the menu selections. We all gravitated towards the 3-course 2022 Restaurant Week Menu selections and were totally satisfied with them. The service was very good, including the valet parking attendant. We finished the night with a ride up/down the Monongehela Incline.
We were seated quickly. Our waitress introduced herself and asked if we wanted to order drinks. The ordering was done and she quickly brought our orders. The entrees were delicious, as always. The only problem was that she forgot to bring my wife's drink. She apologized profusely.
So Nice will come back again. The view was amazing y zzz
Typically visit the Grand Concourse 3-4 times per year and have previously had wonderful experiences.
This latest time may have been the worse service experience in any restaurant. After being seated, it was more than 15 minutes before the waitress stopped by or said hello. When she did, she didn't take any orders, but said she would get bread and water, then be back for orders. Another 5+ minutes went by when she finally brought the water (no bread). She took our drink orders and once again proactively said she'd bring bread. Drinks came a few minutes later (no bread), and she took our order, but was only interested in the appetizer order. Astonishingly, she proactively mentioned she would bring bread (again!). Never saw it.
When the appetizers came (scallops and escargo), the scallops had no utensils, and the escargo had a mini fork, the handle of which was in the sauce with melted butter, etc. all over it. I asked if I could get a new fork, her response was, yes, that's a pastry on top and then she briefly walked away.
We finally ordered. When the soup and salad came out, she asked if we wanted ground pepper, we both said yes. Ground pepper never came. When the entrees came out, we both asked for wine (was never offered additional drinks). We also mentioned we never got the ground pepper, and she responded with a snooty "ok, what do you want me to do about it?" Also, since both our forks had been used on the previous dishes, we had no forks. We asked for forks, she walked away. We tried to flag her a few more times as she was then waiting on another table to no avail. We finally got up and took forks from another clean table.
While pouring the wine, the waitress spills half the one glass on the table. No sorry or anything, just a snooty, "Oh I spilled some, I know you saw me, I'll get you more." She never came back. Brought this up to the manager (Heather I believe), who was VERY friendly and understanding and luckily salvaged this unbelievable situation.
This brunch is phenomenal. Plenty of options no matter what your interest was. The prime rib was exceptional and the salads and vegetables very good. Tried a little bit of everything and liked all of it. The wide range of desserts was lavish and delicious. The homemade donuts were super. Worth the trip.
Beautiful Atmosphere. Second time dining. Love it. Will continue to go back everytime we are in Pittsburgh.
Every meal that we have had at Grand Concourse has been excellent. The service is top notch.
Wonderful experience. Kindest server. Food was delicious. Great dining experience.
Ordered the scallop and coconut rice for dinner. My girlfriend ordered the shrimp and lobster stuffed salmon. Her meal was fine. Nothing spectacular or even something she’d order again if we came back. As for mine, scallops did not have any real flavor or seasoning on them. The coconut rice was over cooked and hard. Think I took two or three bites and gave up. For the price you pay for entrees you’d expect more and it just left me scratching my head at the price tag.
Buffet was excellent. Missy a wonderful, joyful waitress.
My husband and I had a gift certificate that our children bought us 2 years ago that we finally used. It’s a beautiful place and the food was awesome
Holiday family brunch
Everything was wonderful! My only comment would be that the table where we were seated, though in a lovely side dining room, presented a challenge in getting out to the buffet options. All other tables in the room were full and with all chairs occupied there was little room to navigate without disturbing the other seated patrons.
The history is wonderful to see and experience. But the buffet was not great and not any better than like an Eat n Park buffet.
Sunday brunch at the Grand Concourse is one of the great institutions of Pittsburgh. We loved it...Again!!!
Great food, great service!
