Grand Concourse represents the perfect space for your next extraordinary special event.
View Private Dining DetailsTerrible service waited forever for a drink menu waitress waited on us at her convience didn’ Want to make a special trip to retrieve a menu. Went for brunch and were out of a lot of different food not replenished. Very pricey big disappointed
Great service and good was delicious
The silverware on the table was sticky, as if it was never washed. I asked for it to be changed and then we waited for over 5 minutes for new silver to be brought to the table. I was told it was being washed - it was surprising to me that they don’t have extra silverware for their guests. Then there was no salt and pepper shaker on the table and no sugar. We asked for a booster seat for my son several times and one was never brought ot us. Given the poor presentation/experience a member of the management staff never came over to apologize or say anything. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience there and even though we go there often, we are most likely not going to go back.
Nicely done!!...service was outstanding, they were able to get a quiet table with a view of the city for our special occasion.
Outstanding! There is nothing I can say negative. Everything was top notch!
Came here for our anniversary dinner and it exceeded my expectations. The food was phenomenal and the view was amazing.
I've dined here several times before and have been moderately satisfied with the food, but enjoyed the view and ambiance. This time, the food was over-cooked, service was slow and inattentive and my overall experience was poor. The manager did come by and I explained my disappointment, which she politely listened to, but did nothing about it, not even comped a cup of coffee!!! Dinner with wine was close to $200, which I will spend elsewhere next time, like Morton's or LeMont. I'll try this restaurant in 2019.
Very good!
I brought my friend here for lunch for her birthday. She is still saying how much she enjoyed it.
Our waitress Kelly was the best.
Food was very mediocre but service and experience were good
Fiancé had mom and best friend in for dress buying weekend. We took them to dinner it was great.
The historical setting of what was once a vibrant train station makes for an enchanting dining ambiance.
Wonderful food and atmosphere.
For the most part everything was good but the omelets seemed to lack a bit of flavor and they should offer to put different types of onions in instead of just the mild flavored ones, as for there meat buffet I would suggest adding more flavorful sausage and other meats and using a more thick bacon that is still just as crispy, and they should find a way to organize things a little better and I think it might be a good idea to have a means of selecting what ones wants on their omelet before getting in line so that all one has to do is wait until their number is called rather than stand in line
Enjoyed immensely! Service was great!
Fantastic ambience, which should be a must for any visitor to the Burgh. The Sunday brunch has a good selection of food at a reasonable price.
Was very excited to go to Grand Concourse and enjoy its historic and beautiful setting. Upon arrival we were seated in the back room away from the main dining area, this was far from the main dining room and a totally different experience. Very dark, a little too loud, giving off an old tavern like feel- not what we were expecting. It took over 20 minutes to even get water, my soup came out cold, we had over three different people service us, my dates Tuna was severely undercooked and the Filet Mignon was simply nothing special. The manager was very courteous and did credit us for his tuna as well as offering free dessert. Overall am deterred from ever returning, overpriced for the value and incredibly poor service.
The service was terrible; while they did apologize snd explained they were having issues in the kitchen, our food took 90 minutes to come out even though many around us seem to get theirs. Once it finally came, my son’s steak was so rare it had to go back. The remaining 3 meals seemed to have been sitting under a heat lamp. They did comp us two of the meals and provided dessert to our sons. The waitress was gracious but, overall, very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.
Had some $ on my Landry's card for my birthday that were about to expire so we chose Grand Concourse because we haven't been there in awhile and they had a Smoked Cherry Manhattan on the menu that sounded good but when we ordered drinks I was informed that they didn't have the ingredients for it. I ordered something else but sometime later the manager came out and said she was able to make me the drink and offered it on the house, if I still wanted it. I did and she made it for me. I had great expectations but as Topper said, it wasn't all I had hoped. For $20 I wouldn't be able to recommend it.
We shared a shrimp cocktail which was good (no chemical taste and cocktail sauce with a bite, I love that).
My SO ordered the Caribbean Combo (coconut-macadamia shrimp, crab cake, sweet potato mash, drunken vegetables) but she was informed that they don't make the drunken vegetables anymore (So why is it on the menu). The shrimp IOHO should have some dipping sauce and the crab cake had more breading than we like and was over cooked (outside was too crunchy). We do prefer the crab cakes at a place up on the hill.
I had the Oven Roasted Lobster (with coconut ginger rice and asparagus). I also ordered the Oscar Topping to have some crab and sauce to put on the lobster. The lobster was good but there was one spear of asparagus on the rice (I guess I expected more). The Oscar topping did come with a couple asparagus spears but only about a teaspoon of crab meat.
Although we weren't all that impressed with this visit, we have been to the Grand Concourse many times over the years and have taken business associates there also so we are still willing to recommend it. The atmosphere in the old train station is enjoyable although it seemed to us that they were trying to squeeze too many tables in. I expect we will return at some point to see if the Grand Concourse can impress us again as it has in the past.
Great food! Great ambiance! Simply use the word great for anything and everything!
Food was good. Sitting out looking at river & Pittsburgh skyline is impressive.
I have been eating @ the "Grand Concourse" for ~12 years now, always an enjoyable experience, excellent cuisine and service, keep-up the good work!!!
The food is always delicious and the service is excellent.
Easter Sunday Buffet. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. We were able to go to the buffet come back and start eating before our water glasses were filled 👎🏻
For the price I felt the buffet was a bit short for the main course, the desserts however were in abundance! And delicious 🤤 the Easter Bunny that traveled the dinning area and lobby (where at least 50 people waited) passing out chocolate eggs was fabulous and made the wait time and dinning time with our 4 year old a memorable experience
Went for the Easter Brunch and really expected something outside of the ordinary for the extreme price. Very overpriced for a meal that was not remarkable. The sticky bun was a highlight and was honestly the best sticky bun I’ve ever had. But that should not be the highlight of an expensive brunch.
Was over priced for a limited Easter Brunch menu, would have preferred to order from a menu.
We went here for Easter Brunch and we had an amazing time! We were afraid at first based on how many people were waiting in the lobby to be seated and the Host explaining to some tables that they were running behind. We were sat within about ten minutes of our reservation and had a wonderful experience. For the price, and my sanity, it was well worth it. No cooking and no clean up! Our servers were amazing and went above and beyond. My mother ordered a cocktail but was disappointed with her selection once she tried my sisters, our waiter overheard and brought her out one "on him". We will be back next year for sure!
Excellent dining experience for Easter brunch. Everything was perfect; our server was exceptional. Food area was clean and trays of food were replenished often. The Grand Concourse was prepared for the crowds.
Awesome Easter Sunday Brunch. I drove in from Cleveland OH to take my mother for the occasion. We totally enjoyed it and it was worth the drive!
This was our anniversary dinner. Mark was a wonderful server. The food as always was delicious. I really love this restaurant. The ambiance is unmatched.
Great atmosphere; Great location;Great menu; Great Food; Great service what more can I say. Well let me tell you.
My wife and I dine there frequently and Sunday brunch is spectacular but any time is a treat. You can't beat the atmosphere being an old train station. You just don't get this anywhere, and I mean anywhere. The wait staff has always been incredible as I think they have a lot of staff that has been there many years so experienced and well trained. That says plenty on the management. When you have a special occasion they will accommodate any arrangements. There is no place like this place and do yourself a favor and try them, I don't think you will be disappointed.
We loved the water and city view. The smoked cherry manhattan was so smooth and delicious. All of our dinner entrees were perfectly prepared, from the fish to the scallops and duck. The Creme Brulee was the perfect finishing touch to a special birthday celebration dinner.
Wonderful server Kelli
She made our special occasion even more special
It was a quiet Sunday evening. We brought friends from Washington DC. They were impressed with the view and the meal and the loved the decor. My wife and I were not disappointed. Never have been.
The Sunday brunch was fantastic, best food and biggest selection we have ever seen on a brunch.
Great rooms for dining.
Most food other than the fresh made omelettes was not hot. Prime rib was barely cooked. No real vegetables(mostly just peppers and onions).
Desserts were good.
Service was attentive and good.
Service was not great. Person who seated us was rude and server was not very attentive or friendly. Ladies room was not properly stocked.
Food was delicious, creative, plentiful. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Everything was great, with only one exception. The handles of the serving implements on the buffet were often sticky or greasy. Other than that, it was a delightful brunch.
Went out with my wife on date night. She loves the Charlie's chowder, rolls and pate which she thought were great, but her yellow fin tuna was overcooked. My meal was good and the manager and waiter did a bunch to make it up, but the fact that this has happened to us three times over the past two years. Probably won't go back and will pick another seafood place in the future.
The Grand Concourse was marvelous, as usual! It is one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food is always very good and the environment is wonderful. It is a very special place.
