Great service and small portions. Wish I had more asparagus plated with my fish!
Best ambiance in Pitts for a date or business meeting 👍🏼 will definitely make a good impression. We got excellent help from Herby who gave perfect suggestions 👌🏽 on the spot. Soup, scallops, crab cake, and sea bass were perfect.
Grand Concourse is our anniversary location in Pittsburgh. Food is outstanding, location and view great and the staff is always on top of recognizing your special event. Classy place and staff!
Great service and great food. We were treated attentively and enjoyed our meal celebrating a birthday.
Food and service was very good. The atmosphere is not what I envisioned.
I was disappointed in the location of my table considering I made reservations a month in advance and the place was pretty empty. I did not get the experience of the main Grand Concourse room which was my reason for choosing the Grand Concourse. I was in a side "private " room (Audubon Room). Nice, but I went to see the main Grand Concourse dinning room and would have expected that making reservation a month ahead I would have gotten a better table location. It was not the atmosphere I was hoping for. Nor would I go back if I was told I would get that room again.
Perhaps I should have asked where my table would be, or it would have been even nicer to have been told where my table would be since it was not in the main area that the restaurant is famous for. Either case, I'm wiser now.
It's all here! Ambience, food & service! Lunch or dinner. Enjoy!
With this covid-19 it was really different being there since last year. It's not the same
Nice view, good service, the food was excellent,,,the servers was fast and accurate
Love the setting. Limited menu due to pandemic was the only disappointment. Highly recommend!
Great ambiance and place to eat with the history of the building. Solid lunch / dinner selection, drinks were delicious and food was high quality as well.
Great food and service. Would definitely good back
I love how the atmosphere is but our waiter down right sucked. My friend found a hair in her food and he could careless. And he barely check on us to refill drinks. I love fine dining but I am not sure this restaurant will be seeing me as a guest in the future.
The food was great but one of the greeters was rude in greeting me.
The food was not worth the price. The calamari was chewy, and the mahi-mahi was luke warm. The shrimp entre was good but for 26$ it was not worth it. Overall, it is a very cool location, but the food is not worth the price.
Excellent service for our family during our special occasion. We were given a great table with a beautiful view of the city. Delicious food, balanced menu and inspiring ambience. We were well taken care of.
Delicious. We went to lunch for my daughter's birthday. Had a couple pmegrante tini's which were very flavorful. They do have mocktails too which is nice. For appetizers had firecracker shrimp and shrimp cocktail. The firecracker shrimp were tempura breaded and had a nice drizzle sauce over them. There were a number of shrimp and well worth the 13.50. Shrimp cocktail had big shrimp which were nicely chilled. Five shrimp for 16.00 was a bit pricey. Had a marthas vineyard salad--tasty as ever but the pine nuts were very small and there weren't many--should have asked for extra. My daughter had the ocean cobb salad--it was huge and very very good (23.00). The shrimp were in a light tangy mayo mixture which she really enjoyed along with all the other cobb salad ingredients. She took 1/2 home. My other daughter had the seafood trio(35.50)-- which she raved about-it had jasmine rice, green bean, salmon, coconut shrimp and a crab cake. I had the snapper hemingway(34.00) which came with jasmine rice and asparagus. It was topped with a nice portion of lump crab meat and I got some of the blur blanc sauce on the side. We all took 1/2 of our portions home to enjoy again. Our waitress was exceptional. A bit pricey for lunch but we did get 2 entrees and a huge salad. They do have lunch specials which are very reasonable. Definitely will be back time and time again. They gave my daughter some creme brulee as a complementary birthday dessert. Also, warm rolls and butter were included with butter and a salmon spread--very tasty. Great Celebration.
A bit pricy but we had a view of the city at night from where we were seated. Service was outstanding and the food very good.
I got married and self united with a few of my closest friends. I took them there to celebrate and it was the perfect place. Thank you for making my night so special.
Not out typical 5 star experience which we typically encounter. Dined on a Thursday evening and when we arrived only one other table was occupied.
However we waited 10 minutes to be serviced/acknowledged and that was only because we grabbed one of the waitresses and she said oh you haven’t been waited in yet?? Obviously not! She ended up taking out table and while courteous was preoccupied and not overly friendly as most others there typically are. Soup was served cold but rest of meal was excellent. Also our bread was not served until after our dinner was served. We were told it was still in the oven yet there was only one other table occupied? Is there a bread shortage during the pandemic?
My boyfriend and I went to the Grand Concourse for our anniversary and we had an excellent experience! The ambience is wonderful and the building is breathtakingly beautiful. The food was delicious and we had great service. It is perfect for a quiet romantic dinner. All around great restaurant!
I love the Grand Concourse. I believe it is the best in Pittsburgh bar none. We brought my son-in-law from LA & his colleague for a special welcome to the Burgh dinner - needless to say it was perfect. A+
My boyfriend and I’s first time eating there. It was wonderful. Everyone there was very welcoming, service was great, our waitress was very sweet and uplifting. Will definitely be dining again very soon! Thank you
I had brunch there the steak medium and eggs. Everything tasted great and well seasoned. Server was very nice
Brunch was very good. Restaurant was quite, seated people every other table. Service was pleasant. Only comment...my eggs benedict needed more hollandaise. We liked the past brunch buffets but prefer the quite and less people. We choose the Grand Concourse because its consistently good. Oh and it was my 35th wedding anniversary.
This was my first time to Grand Concourse. The train station turned restaurant is such a beautiful experience and bang for your dollar. With the seafood coming out fresh and perfectly prepared and finished I had zero complaints. If I’m ever in Pittsburgh again, I will be sure to stop by.
Beautiful restaurant for a family dinner. We felt safe from COVID. The food was good.
Grand Concourse is one of our favorite places to dine when celebrating a special occasion. We were celebrating our 38 wedding anniversary. Great ambiance and beautiful old building. Food was excellent as usual. Service was top notch.
2 people ordered prime rib, was told 15 min after ordering they didn’t have anymore. Server was slow so the table next to us, who arrived after us, got the prime rib. Didn’t have the vegetable we wanted. Told 10 minutes after reordering. Good food and atmosphere. Wish we would of have free dessert for our trouble
I went to the Grand Concourse a couple of times during Covid and both times I was so impressed with both the reservation service as well as the food service that we received. The host was friendly and flexible when it come to assisting in our reservation and our server Staci was so knowledgeable about wine paring and even other activities and destinations in the city that we could check out while we were in town. My expectations were well exceeded and I honestly felt proud for recommending this amazing and historical establishment for dinner.
Herb, our server, was attentive but not overbearing. Offered his suggestions and opinions when asked.
Excellent meals and outstanding service. We have never been disappointed by the Grand Concourse.
As is the normal the food and service was outstanding. It is sad however how empty it is due to COVID
From the time we checked in with the hostess we were treated with respect and kindness , everyone was super friendly. Our waiter was amazing and very helpful when deciding what wine to get.
The hospitality was wonderful the food was just trash.
Great experience, would return. Nice restaurant that also doesn't break the bank while offering reservations which is easier during covid19 times.
Took an hour and a half to receive our entrees. Finally spoke to the manager after sitting so long and he took off our appetizer... big deal... this place used to be fantastic... it’s clearly not anymore...
Great meal at the Grand Concourse in the train car as usual. I always like to take out of town visitors to the train car for the spectacular view of the city. Food was great and the service was good but the piped in music was way too loud. Finally after my second request so we could talk, they turned the volume down. Will be back again.
This was an amazing place! Went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and everything was amazing! Once we came in, we were immediately being walked to our table and was asked if we’ve been here before and when we said no we were given the history behind the restaurant and I thought that was so nice.
The manager Collin was AMAZING! He was very accommodating for our anniversary and the next time we are in Pittsburgh we are coming back. I highly recommend!!
I had a friend in from out of town that I was really looking forward to showing the Grand Concourse. We had some scheduling complications and after a short phone call with the host, they were able to change our reservation time for us to make it. We got there 30 minutes before close and you would have never known it was end of day since our server, Britney, was amazing. We apologized for our late reservation and she was so kind and attentive and we didn’t feel rushed in the slightest. Great experience. Thank you.
service was extremely slow. food was sloppy / not presented nicely. took over an hour to get food
