Great space, unique chance to celebrate. Food and service were exceptional
My favorite restaurant since 1984.
Loved our food . Atmosphere is
Beautiful and historic. Our servers were great and very entertaining.
Amazing food amazing service
Will definitely be back
The price was high but well worth every penny. Plus we had a beautiful view of the city
Always goof food and service. Thank you, Alan.
Service was slow and the food was tasteless. For an upscale restaurant I didn't expect to be graffiti on the walls in the men's bathroom.
it was one of the best times....I love the Sunday Brunch there...it is so worth the money.
It was so great to be back for brunch and the food quality was perfect.
We were a bit disappointed with the Sunday Brunch that we attended yesterday - no bagels and cream cheese or other condiments for the lox (we had to ask for a bread basket that came with butter and salmon cream cheese), no potatoes or sides for the turkey and prime rib and no pasta station? I understand COVID and all that, but I would think more stations would provide the ability to better manage the flow of customers and have less congestion. It seemed like the options were much more limited and that was a bit disappointing.
Amazing as always! Great brunch, service. My favourite was the apple dumpling.
Food was very good with a wide variety of food. The service was excellent
Having waited a year and three months to the day for the Grand Concourse "Truly Grand Sunday Brunch" my wife and I excitedly anticipated what we agree was the finest breakfast feast Pittsburgh has perhaps ever seen. We were seated on the old station platform with a sun soaked view of the city. It could not have been a more lovely morning to enjoy the start of our sixth anniversary day.
We made our way to the cold buffet after waiting for a plate distributed by an attendant at the hot food line. The plate was neither hot nor cold . To our surprise we found it moved around the corner adjacent to the carving station. What dismay to see the focus of our craving diminished in number and display. Bowls and trays jammed together making the the crowd more like bed fellows than the politely cautious patrons the new serving procedures were meant to engender.
Gone was the cold poached salmon, gone the bagels and cream cheese for the smoked salmon. The intriguing ly delicious melon salad with lime, cilantro and cheese curds replace with generic fruit salad. I could go on. Food station attendants simply stated " we dont have cream cheese" and "we dont have bagels" when asked where they were. The question begging to be asked is why serve Smoked Salmon at all then and how is one to help themselves with the plater turned with the slices advancing away from the diner?? The quality of the smoked salmon itself was not what we are accustomed to at what was once our "special" go to restaurant for brunch.
This gloomy tale does have a hero though. Gwen our server rounded up a dish of cream cheese from the kitchen and was pleasantly attentive throughout the meal.
The prime rib was cooked medium to medium well, a reheat perhaps, but still tasty and scrambled eggs no too over cooked. We will return but the next time with hesitancy rather than glee.
Food was nice - pricey but fair compared to other high end restaurants in Pittsburgh. Wine was expensive by the glass and choices were limited.
The building is beautiful and the view from the porch is nice.
Only thing that bothered us was the waiters mask kept drooping off his face. We prefer to eat places where masking is used in respect to others.
We went for my sister’s bachelorette party dinner and had an amazing time! I ordered the cod and it was delicious. We got a nice table with a view of the city and our server was so kind.
My impression was that it used to be a fancy restaurant with awesome food, but quality has gone down and they need to modernize a little. I had scallops, rice and asparagus and also a salad to start. With the exception of the scallops (because I never buy scallops), I could have made a better version of my meal at home for a fraction of the cost. My husband ordered steak and potatoes, and again it wasn't that impressive. Just a slab of meat on a plate with a scoop of salty potatoes. I was impressed by the building, which is a great piece of architecture, but the restaurant needs to improve its standards and presentation. We went there because we had a gift certificate, but we enjoy better meals elsewhere for less than half the price.
it was great
Fabulous server. We had a business lunch in a private room and the staff took very good care of us. Quiet and a nice meeting space!
Very pleasant evening and meal with college-age granddaughter
Terrific place to eat with family or friends. Food is always excellent. Fantastic service with a great view inside and out.
Nancy was our server. She goes above and beyond and we were so happy to have her. Everyone’s selection was excellent.
Service was spotty..very long gaps between service. Food was not good, poor quality ingredients, and taste was off(salty). Unfortunately, a bad experience.
We have gone to GC for years and we’re accustomed to a longer dinner, but yesterday was a 3 hour meal when the restaurant was 1/2 full at best.
Food was so so. The place needs a deep clean. The carpet was disgusting out on the part near the water. Under the windows and rails there were so dirty. It’s honestly look like somebody haven’t vacuumed in that restaurant in over a month. Waitress was very attentive. Scallops were over cooked.
It was a great night out. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but our waitress was fantastic. The atmosphere was good and I will definitely go back.
A Spetacular place for special event dining. We've taken guests from out of town, our 50th anniversary, and this visit was for my Grandson's College Graduation !
This was our first visit to Grand Concourse and we were visiting Pittsburgh from out of town. It turned out to be a highlight. We were staying on the West Side so we took the Monongahela Incline down rather than driving. That was a very fun and special way to arrive, with gorgeous views from above and on the way down. We actually arrived an hour early for our reservation and were intending to have a drink in the bar but it was closed for a wedding, as was the main dining room. Luckily, the hostess kindly said we could be seated early and showed us to a small table in the glassed in veranda. All the tables there have a wonderful view over the river and bridges. Our waiter was really busy but he was friendly, attentive once the tables cleared out a bit and the service was excellent. The food is very good, well prepared and plated. The seafood quality is really good although a bit overpriced. The seafood trio had salmon, shrimp and crab cake, all very nice, a generous side of broccolini and nicely seasoned gingered rice. We had an excellent Prosecco Rose and French Chardonnay. Wine prices are a bit steep too. We had the key lime pie which was outstanding, very tart and creamy. We were able to peek in the Grand Dining room, which was gorgeous with the ornate historic stained glass decor. Definitely a must see if you’re Visiting Pittsburgh, or for a special occasion.
Service was lackluster. Our waiter was attentive when he was with us but in a hurry to run off and didn't come back for long periods of time. Would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room or river room, but apparently not an option for larger groups. Love the ambiance and food but service needs greatly improved.
Long term customers. The quality has deteriorated significantly, The waiter was so so and attitudinal,Many waiters look like their uniforms are dirty. The quality of the food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. A lot of food entrees not available on the menu. My martini glass was half full and included ice! All the drinks were half full. Obviously a cost cutting move. Not even a salad. Talk about austerity.
Will not go back and that is after being a loyal customer for 40 years!
Food was great. Jesse our server was professional, fun and very efficient. The river room was lovely.
Our reservation was for 2pm. We were seated out on the periphery of the main dining area. The table we were seated at had dirty linens and garbage on the floor beneath it. W
It took 10-15 minutes for our server India to acknowledge us and take our drink order. The water glasses were dirty and we had to ask for utensils to eat. Only to request napkins from another server as we started to eat. The food stations were all depleted and little was available to choose duo. The serving stations were a mess with debris and dropped food items. Dessert stations a mess with empty trays with nothing to choose from. The selections have been minimized and the attention to detail and finesse long gone. The GC used to be THE place to go to for an elegant and sumptuous brunch. More like a Golden Corral buffet. This was a great disappointment and an embarrassment as we had out of town guests with us truly wanted to impress and great a guests to a grand experience. It was nothing of the sort. It’s sad to see and disgraceful to want to charge a premium fee for such limited food. Poorly presented depleted and unclean environment. Management should take a long hard look at the situation and take action to rectify things . This was a terrible experience. Not recommended
My favorite restaurant! Great service and I love the Chef!
Very delicious food. For the spread of food, the amount one paid for the Brunch was well worth it
Our server barely came to the table and acted like she didn’t want to be there. The room we were put in was like a freezer. The food, for myself, was extremely subpar. All I wanted was a salad and a nice roll. The salad, my son looked up the dressing, and we discovered that they put maple syrup in the dressing. That was disgusting. The only other fresh type vegetable available was beans and carrots. Would have been nice but they were heavily glazed. No bread products. Just pastries. My husband was served the absolute dry heel of the prime rib. I asked the server to please give me the well done bacon and he promptly put dripping globs of fat on my plate. 400$ down the toilet. This was supposed to be my son’s graduation celebration. Oh. And the server picked up the check from the table while we were still seated and looked at it before walking away from the table. I worked in restaurant long enough to know how wrong so much of this is.
It was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the food was great. We went for the Sunday brunch. There are many choices to satisfy all wants. We will definitely be going back again. The building is beautiful. It was a place I wanted my family to experience. Great brunch and a little history too.
Food and service were excellent. COVID precautions were taken. A good time was had by all.
Food was excellent. Lovely Atmosphere. Only down fall we waited over 10 mins before a server came to our table. People who got sat after us seen a server before us.
We had a great dining experience. The food and service were exceptional. After such a long absence due to Covid, it was great to be back.
The young woman working the omelette station was very offputting. Her greeting was “what do you want?” Wearing a mask and having the plexiglass barrier made it hard for her to hear. She was very rude when asking customers (not just me) to repeat themselves. The elderly gentleman was treated so rudely that I had to order for him. Your employee kept rolling her eyes at him. It was insulting and demeaning.
Food was okay the meal I had my steak tasted burnt , our deserts was left set aside by runners who was suppose to deliver and didn’t. Our waiter was amazing he had two parties to attend too it was a very busy day. I probably won’t return due to the food mostly I wasn’t impressed.
Excellent food and excellent service. It was very busy and the service was slower than usual but Greg’s personality made up for that. I will absolutely be back again.
It was great
