First time in Pittsburgh. Nice location and good menu selection for both good and liquor. We had one one vegetarian and another special request in our party and the restaurant offerings and accommodations were good. Food was cool and not really warm but very flavorful. Waitstaff was asking for starter orders and drink orders as soon as we sat down which, since we skipped lunch, was really welcome. However, I cannot accept that the wine we ordered while we ate salad didn’t arrive until the dessert menus were provided and dinner plates cleared; a digestif of sorts. And, with no apologies. Dessert was acceptable but nothing special. We won’t initiate a return visit but probably wouldn’t balk at going back if someone else drove it.
Always great good and service and this experience hit on both counts. Hopefully business will pick up once the pandemic subsidies.
Outstanding our server was great personable professional and attentive. The food and ambiance was exactly as I remembered.See you SOON!!
Waited 30 minutes to get underwhelming food. Service is fine and building is gorgeous. But food is not worth it
Nice Place and I enjoyed the food and service was awesome.
Our server Erin was fantastic! we will be requesting her from now on when we dine here.
she made the meal very enjoyable
The food was cold. Everything after the appetizer came out of the kitchen tepid, at best.
I spoke to the waiter about it who then contacted the manager. The manager personally apologized, adjusted our bill and gave me his business card with the instruction to contact him the next time we are there to dine.
Previous experience (Dec 2020) at this restaurant was MAGNIFICIENT.
We had dinner here to celebrate two milestone birthdays. Our server, Marcia was incredible. The view and ambiance was amazing. The cocktails were delightful. The food was subpar and definitely not worth the price we paid for it. Very small portion sizes, cold mashed potatoes, 2 ( yes 2) asparagus spears. I would not return here again. In our group of 7, only one person had a meal that was great!
It was just ok. Just expected a bit more for the prices. Ice in Martini, no suggestions, sub par bottle service, just expected more from the night compared to similar experiences I’ve had at other restaurants.
The food was horrific. I would never go there again. It was also dirty. Not worth $40+ a plate. McDonald’s is better than this place.
Wonderful dining experience. Ask for Marsha a delightful person that made the experience even more enjoyable. Had the crispy duck and was splendid . Sat in the room overlooking the city scape. Definitely going back. Enjoy yourself
Beautiful building and service and food as well. Always a nice treat.
amazing staff and good foot definitely recommend!!
Perfect, friendly and the food was great thank you
It was very nice. A little disappointed buffet was not there but understandable.
We had brunch. Great service , great view and great food.
Everything was delicious and safe during these crazy times. I will definitely be going back! Herbert was fantastic.
Our waitress Marsha was perfection! Our wine selection flawless and our food divine. I recommend their filet minion. And the crispy glazed Duck was equally delicious. Definitely start with the butternut squash bisque soup. We went back for brunch the next day!
We had never eaten at the Grand Concourse before so didn't know what to expect, especially with the Pandemic. We were delighted. It's an old train station and the chandeliers, stained glass, etc., were stunning. Plus, we had a seat with a view of the river and it was beautiful. There were four of us and we each ordered something different and of course, tasted all of them. We couldn't decide whose was the best. Would definitely eat here again.
Went two Saturdays and Everything was outstanding, both times. Our server, Herb was great. I highly recommend Grand Concourse.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Our server had the kitchen prepare a dessert for us free of charge and wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate. I thought that was really kind of her and she offered to take a picture of us for me
Delicious food, great service. Quiet restaurant and perfect drinks
Great food. Great service. Beautiful location and decor
I brought my girlfriend home to Pittsburgh as a surprise Valentines Date treat. Her and I had a wonderful experience at Grand Concourse! This restaurant is grand, indeed! The decor is elegant and inviting. Our table by the window had a beautiful view across the river of the Pittsburgh skyline. The food was prepared perfectly, and our server, Marsha, was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. I don’t think a trip to Pittsburgh would be complete without a meal at Grand Concourse!
My boyfriend and I went to the grand concourse for Valentine’s Day dinner which we have never been before and will definitely be back! Aside from the stunning building, amazing food (prime rib was delicious), and fantastic drinks (white sangria and spicy cucumber were my favorites), we had the most amazing waitress!
Erin is one of the best if not the best servers I have ever had and made our night even that much more special. She truly knows how to put a smile on your face and just gets her customers. When it comes to decisions (especially when I am hungry) I can be very indecisive but Erin knew exactly what to offer without hesitation. Again, we would not have stayed as long as we did and ordered half the items if it were not for her. Amazing job and we will most definitely be back and requesting our favorite waitress.
Keep up the great work!!
We visited your restaurant for valentines day. Upon walking in a bad taste was put in my mouth when the host was very short.
I actually had to say hello after an awkward silence. Then he failed to check us in. We were seated and greeted after. Its now 630. We just received our apps and THEN drinks. Still no bread. 1 of our party hasnt receive a salad yet.
645 the salad was located on a unoccupied table.
Food came at 715. One entree was missing.
A table next to us had a issue. No manager visit.
Side note.
My party has 5 black people in it. We are in a room with 5 tables. I'm the only white person. Does this have anything to do with it?
We had dinner at the Grand Concourse on Sunday February 14th for our 40th wedding anniversary -- it was outstanding (as it always is)! This is also where we had dinner when my husband proposed so this was also a sentimental return. All COVID-19 protocols are followed (including no valet service); our waitress was wonderful and so friendly, she even took pictures of us, and they gave us the creme brûlée dessert on a plate with Happy Anniversary written on it in chocolate -- delicious! One of my favorite places and I hope the Sunday brunch can return soon! Thank you so much Grand Concourse for the fond memories!
Portion sizes were pretty small, food was good, but nothing special for the price. The service was a little lacking, and we didn’t get seated inside which was a bummer
We picked this place for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. They put us in an annex, not the nice part of the restaurant. We sat for 20 minutes before we were acknowledged. When our waiter did come around, he mumbled something and very unprofessionally slammed water bottles and glasses on our table. Thirty minutes later half of us received drinks. Another waitress saw what was happing and stepped in to help the situation. (Thank you, Angel!). The only person that acknowledged my parents was a lovely lady that brought out our salads. I spoke to the manager who was very kind and offered to help the situation. The food was delicious! Just very disappointed that we received this type of service for an occasion that will never happen again.
We ate at the Grand Concourse on Valentines Day. When we initially made the reservations, we asked if they had their Sunday Brunch Buffet and they stated yes. I called that day and asked what time their Sunday Brunch Buffet ended and they stated 2:00. Once arriving to our table, we realized they didn't have their brunch buffet. This was a let down as we asked twice regarding this and both times we were told they had it.
When we arrived at the Grand Concourse, we were seated immediately. When our server arrived at the table, he was unpleasant. During our time there, he was unattentive.
Our food took 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen. The food runner who delivered our food was rude. He obviously didn't want to be at his job and made that clear from the way he spoke and his mannerisms. We did ask for additional silverware as we were missing one. He rolled his eyes and walked away. When he brought the silverware back, he just threw it on the table and walked away.
Our food was cold and it tasted like it was left under the heat lamp for awhile. My husband's steak was prepared incorrectly and he didn't get the fresh fruit that was supposed to come with his meal.
Overall our experience at the Grand Concourse was horrible. We will not be returning any time soon.
Amazing staff and food!
This was a beautiful brunch!
They were accommodating as far as letting us keep our reservation due to us being 5 minutes late. We had never been there and couldn’t figure out the parking situation since they didn’t have valet.
They didn’t bring out the salads before our main course and the server asked us why we didn’t remind her to bring them out before our main courses came out. I never thought I had to remind someone how to do their job. Our appetizer dishes were not cleared before our main dishes came out so we were helping to clear the table. All of our main dishes came out either over cooked or under cooked. Vegetables were under cooked, mashed potatoes were rubbery. My cousin called his steak beef jerky.
It just wasn’t a fine dining experience that I’m used to. It was disappointing to pay what we did for dinner but receive subpar service and meals.
Poor value. Over priced food and drinks all around. A high end Jonny Rockets if you ask me.
The food was amazing, my wife got the salmon and she said it was one of the best she’s ever had. I got the chicken and mashed potatoes and it was delicious. The server was a little bit rude and tried to hurry us because it was busy but I won’t hold it against them due to it being Valentine’s Day and being one of the first times during COVID is was packed. You also get to be in one of the most beautiful building in Pittsburgh and we had the bonus of sitting by a window and having a gorgeous view of the city. I would recommend this place to anyone, it’s a must do if you come to Pittsburgh!
The service was very fast, But the plates seemed rushed and my
Temp on my prime rib was undercooked severely. Nice environment though.
Solid experience. Servers seemed a little over stretched with the number of tables they had. Would go back
Great food and great atmosphere. I would recommend checking it out.
I was really looking forward to our evening at the Grand Concourse because I have heard nothing but good things! However, I was not impressed at all. Our server was not good. She barely came to the table, offered to refill my husband's beer a few times as my wine glass sat empty for more than half the meal. I had the prime rib and was NOT impressed at all, ask for it medium, it came out rare and was a super thin cut, with barely any au jus to accompany it. The mashed potatoes were gummy and not pleasant at all. My husband ordered the filet and it was also cooked more at a medium-rare than the medium-well that he had asked for. The building itself was amazing with lots to look at! I was just really disappointed in the service and food.
What a perfect evening-We shared a delicious meal in this beautiful restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I was looking forward to our dinner for several weeks and I was not disappointed. We enjoyed everything we ate and drank. First class in all aspects. I can’t wait to return.
