Accented with sherry crme frache & tender lobster meat
The atmosphere was great, we were seated on time at 6:30, but did not leave until 9pm. The service was extremely slow. We waited 40 min for our initial drink order to be served and service never picked up from there. We had a Vegan in our party and the entree advertised as a VEGAN option really wasn't. I think Grand Concourse should step up into the 2020's with at least one VEGAN option. Society's diets are changing and a Vegan Option is a must at all top of the line restaurants'.
Everything else was good. Covid regs were followed and I felt safe that way. I would have graded higher if the service was not so extremely slow.
The Grand Concourse is one of the prettiest restaurants in Pittsburgh as it’s a renovated train station.
They offer indoor and covered outdoor seating.
Food was great. The service by Marty and Erin was top notch. They were on top of everything.
Great spot for a date night or special occasion.
Can’t wait to come back
ApprecIated servers wearing masks due to Covid.
Amanda was excellent. Calamari may have been the best we ever had. All around typical Grand Concourse excellence
We brought our friend for her 60th birthday. She just moved to Indiana, Pennsylvania from California and had not been to Pittsburgh yet. She loved Pittsburgh and The Grand Concourse. It was perfect!
We love the Grand Concourse for the food as well as the ambience. Praying for the day Sunday Brunch is back!
Delicious lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Will go back soon
We went out to celebrate a birthday and it was great! We arrived very early and they were able to accommodate us. The food was excellent!
Food was okay. Service was horrible. Wait staff wasn't very attentive. Usually a rarity
•we were seated before our reservation time
•we had a nice view of the river
•the wedge salad was good
•the manager comped my appetizer
•horrible server- slow, forgetful, disinterested (others seemed to be great)
•calamari looked like breaded fish sticks, tasted awful (imagine imitation crab sticks breaded and coated with old bay)
•Cajun chicken tortellini was bland and tasteless
•we’re still waiting on the salt shaker
•decorations had a thick layer of dust on them
We were terribly disappointed and won’t be returning.
Very good service, beautiful view, very clean. Food was great. Enjoyed ourselves.
We love the grand concourse! It’s beautiful and the food is amazing, we go every year for our anniversary. With that being said, this year was different, not sure if it’s the pandemic or what? But just like in previous years, when I made the reservation I would let them know it was for a anniversary. We use to get a note in the menu saying “happy anniversary” and a nice dessert with “happy anniversary” written in chocolate. But this year, the server didn’t even recognize that or even ask if there was an occasion. Sort of a let down to be honest. May reconsider anniversary dinner date.
Food was fantastic, view of the city from our table made it even better.
The space is lovely but the food was either adequate or totally horrible. We ordered calamari and oysters for appetizers. The oysters were fine but the mignonette was boring and Most likely not made in house. The calamari was prepared ok but lacked seasonings. However, for the main course, I ordered prime rib prepared rare. I knew right away that there were issues. The slab of meat on my plate did not have that perfect deep brown crust that is so desired with prime rib. In fact it didn’t have a crust at all. It looked like a thick slab of pink corned beef from a can!! It was pink but it was also bleeding on the plate and creating a mess of the mashed potatoes that accompanied it. It tasted even worse than it looked. Completely flavorless and tough. I could barely cut it with the knife. Did I mention that it was a slab? Generally, prime rib is cut thin because it’s between the ribs.....??????? The horseradish sauce was mostly mayonnaise so that just added to the disaster of the dish. The server took back our two orders and pushed the filet Mignon on us. My friend agreed but I wasn’t about to take another chance and disappoint my taste buds and my wallet! It was an expensive dinner and totally not worth the price. The filet was okay but still not a great cut of meat. The manager insisted we have dessert on the house and we did. The key lime pie was actually very good. The blueberry sauce on the cheesecake was definitely from a can. I expect much more from an expensive restaurant. In the end, although I sensed frustration from the server, we did not pay for the prime rib but we still spent $300. It was not money well spent!!!!
The space is breathtaking, very good social distancing precautions made us feel super safe, our waiter Herb was awesome and the food was amazing. In fact, we had such a perfect dinner experience we are going back again just a couple nights later. If we are ever in Pittsburgh again we will make a beeline to the Grand Concourse!
Entire ambiance of the traditional Sunday brunch was absent due to Covid. Expected the buffet stations but with servers vs. self serve. Still very good but just not as good as pre-Covid.
Food presentation was lacking and unimaginative. Bland rice pilaf and over cooked asparagus with a hunk of incredibly salty Sea Bass for $38. Building is structurally amazing, but it doesn’t appear that tables, carpet, paint, bathrooms have been updated in decades. For the amount of money we spent, I’d like a bathroom door with a lock. Completely shabby, run down and in need of a better kitchen staff.
My dining experience was superb. The food and drinks were great and our waitress provided excellent service. Definitely will be dining here again the next time I’m in town.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing and the view of the city was stunning. Our server couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive. The restaurant was virtually empty on a Friday night. I’m sure Covid had a lot to do with that. However I read awesome reviews online and the pictures of the food looked amazing. We had scallops for an appetizer. They were served in the Shell, but when I got to the bottom there was a bright green oil. Which was a little concerning. Next course was the salad that was fine. I had a wedge salad my friend had the Caesar. Now onto the entrees... I ordered the shrimp scampi because online it looked amazing. The picture online is nothing like what arrived at the table. It looked like a lean cuisine was heated up in the microwave and dumped on a plate. The shrimp were little and I’m sure frozen. Also there were whole grape tomatoes on the plate. The presentation was awful and the taste was even worse. My friend ordered the blackened mahi mahi. He said the seasoning was extremely good and flavorful. Also the side of broccoli was cooked perfectly. But the mahi mahi was overcooked and extremely dry. It looked like a piece of grilled chicken it was that dry. I don’t like to complain at restaurants, especially when I don’t feel it was the servers fault. The worst part was we were both sick all night and into the next day. We traveled from out of town and it really impacted our whole next day. I had really high hopes, and was extremely disappointed. I would not recommend to anyone. We had dinner the following evening at Ruth’s Chris, our meal was far superior, and a much better value for the quality.
Had a beautiful meal even during COVID!
Loved our waitress. Food was great. A little pricey but was worth it. Very enjoyable. Love the building.
Great food with a beautiful view! Service was outstanding.
This place was gorgeous and a treat to see. The food was great and the staff was polite. The entire experience was lovely. Highly recommend and the special touches of showing the history of the building was super neat to me. Great date restaurant.
We looked forward to oyster Rockefeller which they weren't serving because of COVIC. Other that is was Great .
Value for money = so la la
We ate here for our anniversary and it was an amazing meal!
Brunch on Sunday was very good. Limited menu, as expected, but Crabcakes Benedict were excellent. Server was exceptional.
We have been coming to the Grand Concourse for many, many years. It was always a special place to go for special occasion, but this latest visit was a disaster. My husband and I had 8 guest with us so you know we spent a large sum of money. The food not only
was poorly prepared but you skimped on the condiment. I had Shrimp scampi it had 4 pieces of shrimp in it and it was dry. My husband had the prime rib it was burnt and overdone. He only received 3 small pieces of asparagus with it. He asked for extra anchovies on His Caesar salad and offered to pay for the extra he only got one. Plus my guest complained about their meals as well.
I understand that we are In a crisis right now but food quality and service should not decline because of it. It was never mentioned to us that the patio street was under construction. You mean to tell me that because of the 25% capacity you couldn’t sit us
In the main dining room. This was our 58th wedding anniversary we were celebrating.
I will have to think long and hard before coming back. So disappointed!
Stunning decor, classy service paired with a fine menu make returning to this old friend a must.
Very few customers during these covid days. The service was average and food was average but not worth the price.
Grand Concourse is always a pleasure...Beautiful, excellent service, and the food remains top notch and consistent. Our waiter Patrick was helpful, informative, unobtrusive and made an amazing cocktail on top of his other talents!
I love this restaurant and look forward to many more excellent meals there.
My filet mingnon was amazing, it cut like butter. Honestly one of best dishes I had in a long time
The food was amazing! We had calamari and crab cakes for our appetizers. I had prime rib as my entree which was undercooked, medium rare not medium as requested. My girlfriend had the salmon entree for her main course. It was average, nothing to brag about. The appetizers and beautiful ambiance of the dining room were the highlight of the dining experience. We were seated in the back of the restaurant on the complete opposite side of the kitchen. Therefore, our waiter had to bring our food uncovered across the entire dining room which I didn’t like. He was also pretty inattentive.
The food was great. The coffee was cold
I had to send my food back twice poor quality and taste of food overall, especially for the price it should have been way better!!!
Terrible service. They were apathetic. We waited an eternity every step of the way. We were 3 people, two of us had our orders messed up. Simo,y awful.
Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! Would definitely recommend
Great experience, perfect for a date night
Fantastic evening. This was my first time there and went for restaurant week. I was supe impressed with the wine list, had my favorite wine and vintage (Saint-Émilion 2015) and the rest of the menu looked superb. I'll definitely be going back. It was nice to relax and not feel rushed. I felt super safe with Covid and the ambiance and architecture was amazing!
