Went for Sunday brunch. The service was good. The food was kinda cold and drenched in dressing and/or oil. So if you like that it might be fine. The meat was warm at best, but the fruit seemed fresh. Overall, not very good in my opinion.
The atmosphere was great, the food and service not so much. I would recommend to try it but probably will not go back when we are in town next time, plenty of other places to try.
Always exceptional. Mine and my girlfriends favorite restaurant
This is a great place to go if only to see the beautifully restored Grand Concourse railroad station. Quite a spectacular building, reflecting the grandeur of the Times when the railroads were king.
My visit was on Mothers Day also my first time with my Mother. I wasnt aware that it would only be buffet because I booked online. When we arrived the food was almost gone and the hot food was literally cold. Very disappointing. The salad was not cold although it was sitting on ice. The cinnamon rolls were hard to chew. Overall the food was not good. We left hungry and disappointed on Mothers Day.
The food selection was overwhelming and delicious. Our server was helpful and attentive. All of the staff was courteous.
Mother’s Day brunch
Mother’s Day brunch
Fantastic food (as always )
Service fair...slow to provide ordered drinks
Very infrequent refills
Otherwise wonderful meal!
Beautiful place and food is average, but not memorable
The building and decor are spectacular and the food was excellent. The service was fine with the exception of the bill. The amount charged to the credit card was higher than the invoice amount and the second time the amount was incorrect as well. Finally the manager took care of it but the wrong amount was still on the credit card statement. After checking with Visa, the proper credit was applied.
If I could afford it, I would make this a routine dinner destination. That said, it is truly worth saving up for special occasions as the food, service, background music, ambiance, and views are just unmatched from my perspective.
The gentleman who greeted us upon arrival was not personable--he did not smile once and it felt like he did not care about the patrons. I watched him with 5 other guests who approached and he displayed same kind of attitude to all. At no time were my guest and myself offered fresh ground pepper during the meal. I did notice other wait staff offer other guests fresh ground pepper. I had peppered crusted tenderloin and it had little flavor other than the pepper--my guest had the scallops and very little taste there as well. I received two spears of asparagus. I can only surmise that I was only warranted two due to the thickness of each spear.
Atmosphere is unique. Great place to go for a nice meal, an important event. Food itself seemed just average, for the type of restaurant and for the price.
Your shrimp scampi has lost its luster with minimal sauce on the pasta portion and 4 smallish shrimp being semi cold and not the same temperature as the pasta portion. I would have sent it back to the kitchen if I had more time to have it redone.
The food was delicious and amazing, but I would say our service was lacking. However towards the end of our meal we had a different server and he was very attentive. The lunch meals are reasonably priced and the views are spectacular. There was an exceptionally loud table of overly drunk ladies next to us which was rather hindering to our nice day out.
Service was very bad. Meals were not served st the same time. We had to continue asking for drink and water refills
1st time there and was thinking it would be ideal for a celebration.
Extremely slow kitchen. We ordered drinks, appetizers, soup/salad and entree. Nearly 40 minutes later, soup/salad came and the appetizer had never been served. I canceled the appetizer and the waiter was shocker. Entrees served 30 minutes later and lacked presentation. My food looked like it had been tossed on the plate.
Likely will not return based on this experience. Worst experience of all Landry restaurants I have visited in the country.
Not what it used to be. Bad food, slow service on a not busy Saturday. The building is historically significant, but the fare no longer represents the spirit of Pittsburgh.
My wife and I were in town on our anniversary. We chose Grand Concourse for its historic feel and ambiance. What a good choice we made! The food was outstanding. Steve, our server hit it out of the park with his recommendations.
Definitely going back!
I don’t think the chef knows how to cook beef. We were told prime rib has to be done medium and up. It prevented some of the rare meat eaters from ordering the prime rib. For those that ordered medium, it was rare. For those that ordered medium well, it was bone dry. Service was so slow we did not order dessert b/c we had to leave.
Certainly not worth the price for the quality/taste/portion size. You can go somewhere and spend less money for a significantly tastier meal and bigger menu. That said, the service is great and restaurant itself is lovely.
Steaks over cooked with no correction. No steak knives brought with Steaks and had to wait for them . Waiter rushed and not very personable. Just order and go. Atmosphere is nice and prices are reasonable which covers them.
Atmosphere and service was great but the food was not cooked well. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer and filet mignon with grilled shrimp and ahi tuna as a meal. The sea food was very over cooked and the steak was under cooked which was surprising for the high price of the meal. Not sure if we caught them on an off night given all of the good reviews I read before making the reservations.
My friend an I took our elderly Moms to Saturday lunch for an early Mother's Day celebration. The meal was very good and the server was very nice and accommodating. Beautiful location.
Consistently good food and service! Ambiance sets it apart from everyone else
I thought the Halibut was a little overcooked, but everything else was fine.
Only problem it was a surprise party. 8 of the party arrived at 6 and mr husband and I arrived at 6:15 - the hostess said oh your here for the big party thus giving the surprise away 😞
The interior of the restaurant is amazing and needs to be seen to be believed. The food was of good quality and the service was very good. Overall a great experience.
Always a great place to dine. Sunday brunch has been a favorite of ours for years!
The atmosphere was just gorgeous. The service was attentive and the selection of food for brunch was varied and delicious with lots of options. I can’t wait to go back
Best Sunday Brunch in Pittsburgh. Reservation is a must! Expect a lot of people, but the staff is prompt with refilling stations and keeping everything fresh.
Our evening at Grand Concourse to celebrate a graduation was almost perfect. Although we couldn’t get a reservation until 8 pm, we were welcomed warmly and the service was excellent since the restaurant was no longer bustling with clientele. Everyone enjoyed the food they ordered and by sharing, we all got a taste of almost everything. Our only disappointment was the outrageous cost of wine. Nearly $50 a bottle for very ordinary labels was excessive.
Beautiful restaurant with a great place to mingle before dinner—:the Gandy Dancer! I requested a river view table thru the open door app and we were seated on this area. We were with some old friends who were visiting from Boston. We were all impressed with the restaurant and the beauty of Pittsburgh. We e heard this all weekend from other visitors to the Burg!
Service was very slow and the quality of the food was not worth the price. Will probably won’t go again.
Food was delicious! Salad with crab and lobster and ginger dressing was big enough to share with 3 others. Great food!!! Waitress wAs awesome too!
The Grand Concourse is a beautiful and elegant restaurant. We went to celebrate our intern’s graduation from pharmacy school. Our server Kim was accommodating and right on top of everything!!!! She went above and beyond her duties to provide for a pleasant evening.
Now, the noise level (music) was way too loud!!!! I could barely hear our guests. At one point, I was going to ask for the music to be turned down. No, I am not hard of hearing.
My entree (shrimp) was awful. I have no desire to eat dinner there. I will continue to go to the amazing Sunday Brunch at the GC.
The area where we were seated (along the river view) was too crowded. The GC needs to remove some tables and free up space so we aren’t on top of the other guests. It is too crammed and VERY uncomfortable to get in and out of the tables.
I have no problem spending top dollar for a quality dining experience. My husband and I agreed, we will never go back to the GC for dinner, only Sunday Brunch.
I did forget to mention, my husband’s scallops were the smallest scallops I have ever seen in my life. Unreal!!!!
The best part of the evening was our wondering server Kim and the view. As for recommending the GC for dinner, no way!!!!
Such a nice dining experience for college graduation dinner. Service was very friendly and prompt. Sitting in the room overlooking the water was lovely. Server was thoughtful enough to bring a complementary dessert for the college graduate, which made the expereience personal. Seafood was very good.
Great service food and experience
