Bad food, slow service, beautiful building.
I made a reservation for my husband and I for our first wedding anniversary and we got there 10 minutes early to check in and there were large groups that had reservations for times after us that were seated before us. We finally got seated (after waiting 30 minutes) at a table that was closed off due to social distancing, so it made us seem like an afterthought. There was NOTHING online that stated that there was a buffet when I made the reservation, so that was unfortunate to be told that when we sat down. Food was delicious, but lukewarm. While we were still finishing eating, a waitress was cleaning up around us and took our candle off our table, while not saying anything or looking at us. Our waitress also said she validated our parking ticket, but just gave us our old ticket back and we still had to pay for parking.
Overall, disappointing for a supposed “fine dining” establishment. Not worth the money we paid.
Enjoyable. Food was good. This is a beautiful restaurant
Beautiful historic architecture setting combined with very good food and 5 star service
It was so nice to enjoy the Grand Concourse like we know and love. They did an incredible job keeping everyone safe and orderly will still delivering exceptional food and service. We can’t wait to come back!
We always enjoy the Grand Buffet. Glad that it is back at the Grand Concourse
The ambiance and food was fantastic! My mother enjoyed her Mother's Day brunch...
The setting was amazing, the view was gorgeous and the food was outstanding!!!! I loved the the entire experience and will be going back soon.
My family and I do Mother’s Day brunch every year
Last year we were extremely disappointed to miss out because of the pandemic
This year was the only time we have been disappointed in the brunch
Our service was awful! Everting took over ten minutes to receive once asked for...
The waitress smelled of smoke, and was not timely for coffee/drink refills
The buffet food was cold, still tasted good
The sticky buns were so burnt you could not eat them (and I look forward to them as an annual tasty treat)
We will be back next year, just hope for improved service and food
Love this place!! Great for special occasions, atmosphere and service was excellent the food was delicious everyone really was impressed! Thankyou to our severs that night did an excellent job for our daughter's graduation dinner!!
Not as good as it used to be. The menu has been reduced and many of our favorites are missing. We came for a birthday to celebrate with the chocolate molten lava cake is no longer on the menu. GC used to be a fabulous dining experience, but now it is just OK.
Our steaks were not cooked correctly for the price you pay they should know what medium is and medium well is....
I wonder why they bother to give a table bottled, branded water, when it is obviously a reused bottle filled with tap water. Ruins the entire experience. The bottle was labeled “Purezza- Sparkling” as opposed to the nearly identical bottles on our table labeled “Purezza- Flat.” They had the same water, suggesting they were simply refilled with tap water. Ridiculous from a restaurant that claims to be upscale.
They also served half of my party’s meal, then the other half about 15 minutes later, but the orders were also wrong. The steaks and prime rib were all at the wrong temperatures- which is, again, ridiculous. They weren’t THAT busy. And! To top it off, the servers began bussing our table while we were still eating, without asking us, while there were multiple tables behind us that were empty and filthy. They took my mother’s silverware WHILE SHE WAS STILL EATING. We had to ask for a new set. Mindblowing.
Needless to say we will not be returning. The food is nowhere near worth the stupid mistakes and cheap experiences.
Hostess station was a little slow but otherwise it was a good experience.
The service was excellent. Most of the food was very food. However, the prime rib was awful. Extremely fatty, more so that usual prime rib and you couldn't even chew it.
We had a wonderful afternoon. Our service was terrific and the food was delicious.
Out to celebrate graduating with my masters and celebrate nurses week. Ordered mahi mahi and surf and turf. Entree’s came out ice cold. Manager called to the table who took our food and threw it in the microwave. Same food and plates came out with the same markings we made when trying the food. Steak was now well done when it was supposed to be medium, lobster tail was flat and looked like tire rubber, mahi mahi was dry and salted like beef jerky. Manager came again and said “sorry” then provided us with the bill where he noted “guest did not like meal.” Would not recommend to any one!
Excellent. Food. Service. Atmosphere. Perfect!
Had to wait at least 20 minutes beyond our reservations. Could not use the bar , service was extremely slow even for glasses of water. Too expensive for the experience.
Waitress was awesome, everything was above expectations
Very classy and the food was great. Enjoyed the experience.
Not the same as it’s always been in the past. It’s lost the elegant dining experience.
highly recommend! Great food and service. The place is absolutely beautiful
Love the classic railroad station architecture and amenities!!!!
Great views and good food. Excellent wine list. Wish the food was amazing but it was only just good.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Staff were attentive, courteous and professional. We will be going back.
The views are stunning inside and out. The food was excellent (coconut shrimp, Cobb salad, mussels). The service was friendly and professional.
I had a wonderful time. Everything I was concerned about was better than anticipated. Wanted a quiet table where I could talk and share with a good friend. Perfect. Service was caring and not over bearing or rushed. Food was superb. The waitress very attentive. We were not rushed in the least bit, which I had hoped would be the case. Would recommend for an exquisite and delicious meal and experience. Thank you.
Food, service, & ambiance were all excellent! The food was seasoned perfectly & cooked to order. Highly recommend this venue for a special occasion or to celebrate with friends & family!
Waited forever for our meals. People who cane in after us got there food. Just be sure you have plenty of time. 2 1/2 hours
Outstanding meal all of the selections served in and incredibly gorgeous historic building with great river side views and impeccable service
Celebrated son’s UofPitt graduation here, it IS Grand! The The architecture of the owned train station is beautiful! We have the shrimp appetizer which was way better than “bang bang shrimp” and the steaks were cooked perfectly top notch!
We’d checked reviews ahead for a family graduation celebration and my son’s friends had good things to say about gage and Concourse. But despite a reservation we waited a while for our table, and that was only the first of many, many waits. At one point—an hour and a half into our two and a half hour ordeal—the server told us things had slowed down and so she’d be able to be attentive. What a joke: It just meant we waited 20 minutes between checkins instead of 25. The food was delicious but the presentations seemed as though the kitchen was hurried: If so that was the only evidence of hurrying, anywhere. I’d love to be able to recommend this place because all of the entrees for our party of 6 were very tasty, and the building and eating spaces are sensational. But when you order drinks a round ahead just to stay ahead of the server, that’s saying something. Even with a COVID bounce back/ graduation weekend forgiveness margin, this was too much money for something that demanded lots of forgiveness. I hope you get your groove back.
We were looking for a special restaurant to celebrate a graduation. While the building is an impressive turn-of-the-century train station, the food was nothing special and the service was awful. The waiter seemed stretched very thin - when we could find him, he seemed impatient to get away from us. Also, a pet peeve: several of us used our knives on the salads. When he cleared the plates, the waiter removed the soiled knives from the plates and put them back on the table. At these prices, they could have given us fresh knives.
Took my Dad to celebrate his birthday. We had a seat in the train car with a great view of the city. Dynamite Scallops were amazing. I also had a white Sangria with cucumbers which was delicious.
We had an amazing brunch. Our mojitos were on point. Staff is very friendly, atmosphere was lovely
food was good, but the brunch was pretty limited in comparison to the past, even with the increased price.
I will eat there again hoping there will be more items available on the brunch.
Went for brunch to celebrate my daughter's graduation from PITT. Perfect location and ambience! Food and service were great.
