Seating was safe! Service was great and the food was excellent!
Beautiful Restaurant. I went during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week 2021. The food was great- the Services was over the top great!! I will be back!!! We did not eat in the section with a river view, but what a relaxing ambience this would add to a great night out!!!!!
Always good food at the Grand Concourse. Excellent server, Marsha.
The Grand Concourse is always consistently outstanding. My husband and I stopped by for a fancy date night and we were blown away by everything including the fresh oysters, lobster pate spread, mouthwatering crab cakes, and fluffy desserts. We really can't get enough of the elegance, food quality, and gracious service here! It's an easy pick for a splurge or any special occasion in our book. And it's a MUST visit for anyone visiting the Pittsburgh area from out of town!
My experience was amazing! Everytime I come here I am always in awww! And shout out to my server, I dropped my keys in the restaurant and was able to retrieve them the sand day. I love it here.
Had a reservation for 8 people at 1:30pm on a Sunday for my birthday brunch. 6 of us arrived right on time and 2 others arrived about 15 minutes late. Our server did not greet the table until at least 1:50. I have been a server/bartender for 8 years and I have never waited more that 3 minutes to greet a table. Took forever to get our drinks and we didn’t get our main course until 3:30. I ordered the 10oz prime rib with a crab cake and mashed potatoes. It was clear that my meal had been sitting under the heat lamp in the kitchen for quite some time. Prime rib was completely dry and my mashed potatoes had a hard film on them, I could literally pick the entire serving of mashed potatoes up with my knife. I understand bigger groups can be difficult but as a server myself, I can tell you our group was far from difficult. Sad because I had heard great things about this establishment and had many recommendations to try it. Forgot to mention is was not busy at all. I could count at least 20 empty tables around us. Server did not pick up dirty dishes when she would leave the table, just a lot of carelessness. She was a very sweet girl but it was obvious she didn’t care much.
Located in the turn-of-the-twentieth-century Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station (the "station" from which Station Square derives its name), the ambience of the Grand Concourse transports diners to a bygone era where the fastest transportation between two points rode two rails, and public buildings possessed a grandeur and attention to detail sadly lacking today. Food preparation is first-rate, presentation is classic, and the staff is personable, efficient, attentive, and wonderfully knowledgeable about both the menu and the historic building -- all for a price that's little (if anything) more than you pay at Friday's or Olive Garden. An outstanding bargain for a memorable dining experience.
Myself and my two accompanying guests were extremely pleased with the service and the delicious food. Many compliments to Herb our waiter and to the Chef! The atmosphere was great and the service from meeting the Hostess to our departure was excellent! Everyone was great with conversation and service. The place was very clean and best practices of keeping staff and guests safe during the pandemic were top notch! Had no worries at all about. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Compliments all around!!!! Looking forward to our next visit!!
My first time there and everything was on the up n up! Can’t wait to go back for brunch.
My family and I went here for my 25th birthday and the whole experience was disappointing to say the least. Our server was inattentive and only offered us refills after we asked an hour and a half later. My family would have continued to drink if they were able to order. My food was subpar. I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Carbonara. The noodles were hard and chewy while the rest of the “sauce” and seafood were cold. When he returned with my entree it was slightly better but to be honest I didn’t want to send it back because I would have had to wait an additional 15 minutes while my whole party had completed their meals. I will not be returning to The Grand Concourse for awhile after the letdown on my birthday.
I enjoyed the applejack seabass, one of the best tasting fish. My husband enjoyed the mahi mahi. We had the calamari for and appetizer but their bread and crackers with salmon spread was delicious.
Nice atmosphere, sever great, prime rib great lobster was tough and dry. Was seated on time and served on time. Place was clean and followed covid restrictions
Grand Concourse has become on of my favorite places to lunch. Everything is always wonderful!
We enjoyed everything about our dinner date. This was my husbsnds first time dining here. He ordered crispy duck I ordered the steak and shrimp. Everything was perfect.
Wonderful food, great service and in the most beautiful restaurant in the world.
A wonderful way to start the New Year with my family. Even though it was patio seating it was warm and comfortable. The service as well as dinner was great also!
Rude hostess. Very upset that we were a few minutes late for our reservation. Not interested in winning our business. Probably will not return.
The closure of the state has been rough. The ability to have people eat at a table albeit inside a tent was appreciated.
Great service
Everything was great under the circumstances. Missed the beautiful view from the river room.
It was soo good & everyone was soo nice. The food was worth every cent & not expensive compared to other steak houses.
Waitress was fantastic.
We were seated in the only table without a heater above us on the outside patio.
He ordered Filet... medium. Came out very well
and very dry... inedible, but he did not want to send back. Small amount of potato’s and 2 pieces of asparagus. Very disappointing.
He ordered coffee... both times was served warm, not hot.
Soup was good but came out cold not hot.
Caesar salad with 4 shrimp as ok.
Crab cake appetizer was good.
We will not be back.
Please forward to restaurant.
Not the Grand Concourse I remember. Food does seem fresh or well prepared
Sadly my food came out cold and by the time I received it, my table was done eating. They said they would bring a birthday desert and it never came.
Service was alright. Drinks were not refilled in a decent amount of time. Steaks came out well done when asked for rare.
Christmas dinner
Well designed outdoor, heated patio dining with in-place plastic "windows" and high roof.. Spacing was at least 20 feet between occupied tables. Very pleasant server (Noelle) was conversant and engaging. Food was good (lunchtime menu). Overall, a nice, "safe" outing during Covid. Will do again soon.
Indoor dinning isn’t available in PA ATM, but LUCKILY they have a heated patio! Service and food is always a great value. We’ll be back, as always! Don’t forget your Landry’s card!
This is my second time here and I truly felt bad for our server. The first time our service was horrible, this time I’m sure our service would have been much better but she had to come back to the table 4 times because the kitchen was out of items. The food that we did get was ok at best but some people in our party left hungry because portion size was so small
Enjoyable experience, great venue with nice view. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food was good though fell short in taste and presentation for fine dining (e.g., EddieV's).
I suggested grand concourse for our Christmas dinner and can’t tell you how disappointed I was. Not a single freaking bow in the whole restaurant. Service was terrible. Food was just ok and the music was very depressing. I’m glad I saved my money for that very disappointing nigjt
Every thing was great, but the dessert(creme brulee) it was not very good.
This was not as we remembered. The food was not as described. We were disappointed in the quality and the taste. The wait staff were accommodating but they were short staffed and running around a lot.
It was our first time dining at the Grand Concourse. It turned out to be a great experience! Food was amazing. Ambiance was great as well. Just slightly disappointed that the server did not make wine suggestions. When asked which red may have been slightly sweeter, he said he was unsure. I wanted to try something new but went with my gut, since no suggestions were made by our server. Other than that, it was great overall.
Nearly empty, as COVID life is now. Sat us at a tiny table in a corner, service slow and not remarkable. Shrimps cocktail was mealy and I couldn’t finish it, the cocktail sauce was good. My steak was cooked properly, but tough and not worth $32.00, I’m not cheap but it wasn’t anything worth that price. Mashed potatoes were just warm, however the dessert was very good: raspberries and cream.
Towards the end our service did pick up and drinks we’re coming regularly. I believe everyone did their best. I’m assuming with the beef market as it is; this may be the root of the poor beef quality.
I still like the location, the view and architectural charm of the restaurant though. I hope things get back to normal soon, I miss the seafood and bar being open.
This place was wonderful!! Service was great..food was delicious! I love the look of this restaurant...will definitely go back when in town.
Fantastic service as always. Went to Sunday brunch and because of COVID they were serving from their buffet. No matter the full menu was open. It was outstanding as was expected. If you’re in Pittsburgh make sure to make this one of your stops.
The restaurant is EXCEPTIONALLY clean and relatively quiet.
No onsite parking however, parking deck in adjacent hotel is available; you are able to have your parking pass validated at the restaurant.
The restaurant offers very unique, high-end entrees; there is an equal offering of steak and seafood.
Our waitress was exceptional; fast, friendly and knew what we wanted before we had to ask.
For an appetizer, my wife had butternut squash soup and I had the chowder. Both soups were phenomenal!
My bride then enjoyed the mahi mahi while I dined on the lobster & shrimp carbonara. Our food was prepared excellently and served quickly.
The atmosphere is exceptionally unique; train station, built in 1901, repurposed as a restaurant and offices (upstairs).
100% recommendation for mature, professionals looking for a unique dining experience!
Our food and service were excellent. Everything was perfect for our night.
Our waiter was fantastic! By boyfriend and I went for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere was warm and it was very quiet since it was a Monday. We were seated as soon as we arrived and our appetizer salads and main meal were served quickly. Out food was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. My drink was made slightly strong for my liking, but I’d rather it be on the strong side versus the weak side. Overall a wonderful experience, and we will be returning. I seriously cannot say enough good things about our waiter, (I wish I could recall his name!). He truly made our dining experience special and top notch!
