Had to wait until 40 minutes after my reservation time to be seated. Once finally seated we were given water and then nobody came to even take drink orders for another 20 minutes. The food was good but the service was not with the price tag.

Food served warm, not hot, lobster overcooked, shrimp cold on seafood platter, service slow........ management comped desserts and removed lobster from bill. Gave us a credit but we were very disappointed after anticipating a relaxing dinner.

while not many brunch options exist in the Burgh-this one is fine, but needs a few more mainline items(eggs benedict, fruit options) to justify the fairly steep price that capitalizes on low supply and high demand. good coffee helps and maybe a complimentary drink at the bar would alleviate the heavy reservation system..

Staff was very helpful in showing us the buffet options. Food was top notch and kept hot and fresh. Staff was attentive to out needs to ensure a pleasant dining experience.

Service was slow. Vegetables and rice were cold, salmon was dry other main course was just okay. They were out of cowboy steak. The restaurant and decor are outstanding saving the evening.

Have been here before on several occasions. This visit was disappointing.

Beautiful setting! We grabbed cocktails and an appetizer at the bar, then had a wonderful dinner in the main dining area. Great service, dinners were all wonderful!

Food was not up-to par, overcooked and small sized portions. Oyster were good, but very tiny. Dynamite scallops app, you could barely find the scallops. Crab cake was mainly breading and small, not good. Bone in Cowboy ribeye - very fatty and tough to eat. Chilean sea bass, tasty but a little overcooked. We went for Valentine's so not sure if that was the cause for the poor food preparation, but was not impressed and would probably not go back.

Horrible service! Meals were good, presentation of the dish was embarrassing for the cost of the entree. Waiter was not engaging, didn’t follow up to ask if meals were prepared correct or need anything else. He asked if we wanted desert, we declined. He brought over the check, dropped it off at table and didn’t say thanks, have a good evening etc.

We used the valet and when I was sitting g at the table I advised my wife - how do they know our vehicle as I never received a ticket? When we approached the valet to advise we never received a ticket, how do you know our auto.. one of the valets advised I give everyone a ticket and I got one. I said..I didn’t get a ticket and I thought it was odd. He said, I gave you one..again, I said you never gave me one. He said I’m not arguing with you, I advised there is no argument here - you didn’t give me one and I want my auto. I picked my keys out of the door of key rings and another valet grabbed my car. I advised him thanks when I got ready to get in and advised I have no reason to fabricate a story about not receiving a ticket..he said it happens, there are times they forget. I paid the valet cost and tipped him.

All in all = not a positive experience.

Always had a good experience until Saturday. We had a reservation confirmed by gentleman at the front but was somehow lost and was not called until we asked. Waited extra 30 minutes. Got to table and Waitress did not show up for 15 minutes. Took another 20 to receive my wife's drink (I already had one from bar.) Waitress misinformed us on the potato croquettes due to allergies and had to be corrected with the Chef. Crab Cake appetizer came out late, overcooked (assume by heat lamp) and was not to GC standards. Not very good at all. My meal was OK. Wife ordered Pittsburgh Rare on her steak. Came out Rare but not "Pittsburgh" (no real char on the outside) We spent over 2 hours total at the restaurant. Key Lime Pie was good.

Beautiful view, one of the best in the city. Started with Charlie's chowder and shrimp cocktail. Both were excellent. 2 had salmon, different preparations but both were exceptional. 1 had seafood trio and raved about it. Key lime pie and bananas foster for dessert. The bananas foster was actually creme brûlée. Slightly disappointed it wasn’t traditional but it was delicious. Service was very good.

We chose the Grand Concourse for our Valentines Day dinner. What a mistake! The service and food were both poor.
My wife has a food allergy and ask if the shrimp could be sautéed in olive oil instead of butter and the waiter said that it was not possible. She chose something else. Neither of our meals were very good. They tasted like they had been prepared well in advance and sat around in a steam table.
We will not return to this restaurant. There are many good restaurants in Pittsburgh, the Grand Concourse is not one of them.

We went on Valentines Day and couldn’t have been happier!! Seated promptly at 5:15, offered water out of the cutest self-serve glass bottle. Ordered a cocktail, which was awesome. Service was great, very attentive and helpful! Prime rib was fantastic! I can’t wait to go back and try more stuff! Beautiful inside! It is a little pricy but compared to the other upscale restaurants in Pittsburgh I think it’s well priced. Either way we didn’t care, the service was great and so was the food. Great place to dress up and go for a date night!

I visited in Valentines Day a few years ago it was fabulous! This year my wife, son and I visited. Please keep in mind this is about a 75 mile drive from our home. We all ordered Filets mine was luke warm at best. My wife and son had to send theirs back as they were practically raw!! Now the server did apologize for the inconsistency despite ordering both med well!! After the steaks came back to the table i had just about finished my meal! No manager came by to see how dinner was nor apologize for the inconvenience. They didn’t even offer anything to compensate the dinners as a gesture of good will and while perhaps that is just your policy this is something that goes a long way when spending this amount of money for dinner. The whipped potatoes i would have expected to be fluffy they were not. Rather like a potato pancake that clumped when i stuck my form in them! For the cost, roughly 200 with the tip it was more than disappointing! I know that there are hiccups from time to time but i would not have expected so many at this place! The snapper hemmingway was very good. Great place to get oysters on the half shell. Service was a bit unorganized, but that has not been the norm. Very historic building. Brings back really nice memories when my father worked for the P&LE railroad. We were seated where it used to be a landing for passengers to board the train.

Worst restaurant experience I ever had. Made reservations but they were running 30 minutes behind. Ran out of food but did not notify us before ordering the food or after, we had to mention we were missing food. Placed food order and waited over an hour. Ordered drinks and they forgot to bring them for 30 minutes. Food was cold and dry. I will never return or tell anyone I know to go there. Such a disappointment overall, needs better management.

I love the Grand Concourse, I have been here for a wedding reception and the buffet. My family and I came on Valentine's Day for dinner. There were 6 of us. 3 of our meals came out incorrectly. We did not have the correct sides. The waitress however, did fix it very fast. We asked for medium well with our steaks. They all came out with blood on our plates. We did not send them back but just ate the sections that were cooked more. My grandson however, enjoyed his meal entirely. He loved his chicken strips and enjoyed his hot fudge sunday.

Our family came for Valentine’s day. Given how incredibly busy they were, we enjoyed our dinner very much. I felt sorry for the servers, there were so many people it was hard for them to keep up, but they did a great job. We enjoyed our evening.

Beautiful unique place, exquisite food as ALWAYS! BUT this time the Service was terrible. It was Valentine's Day so they should have been ready, but 3 hours is a long dinner for 2. I would still go back for a special dinner.

Overall I was very disappointed with our experience. We had reservations for 7pm and was not seated until almost 730. It took nearly 30 minutes to get a menu. The food was average and over priced. With prices like that I will go to Monterey Bay or Off the Hook and actually get a good meal. Our waitress was very friendly and did her best but you could tell how understaffed the restaurant was.

Food was amazing, I had the cowboy ribeye and my fiancé had the lobster. The only thing that was off was we felt really rushed. The servers brought our appetizer and salad out at the same time. They brought the check out before we asked for it and before the dessert even got to our table. I understand it was Valentine’s Day and they were busy, but when we are spending that much money on dinner I expect it to be relaxed. Overall it was a good first time, just wish it was more relaxed.

The atmosphere was beautiful but for the price of the food and low quality, I was rather disappointed. I had the Cajun pasta and it was too salty. Plus we didn’t get a bread basket (if it wasn’t free, it should be). Also the crab cake appetizer size was just sad for $16. Either give us 2 or make it bigger.

I was glad we tried it for the first time but I probably won’t be coming back.

We were really looking forward to a special meal on Valentines day. We did get a good table right in the window with the city view - but the rest was poor. Service was really slow an inattentive. The sea bass was fairly tastless and dry, and the "special steak" + scampi (with house steak sauce) was anything but special - particularly because I had ordered prime rib, scampi, au jus + horseradish sauce. After a few minutes without seeing our server I decided to eat the "special steak" - which is just as well because we didn't see our server again until she came to clear the plates. We had to ask three times to see the menu to check on what we had been served - and eventually the server admitted "oh, yes, you did order prime rib". The manager came to our table, apologised and offered to give me some prime rib to go! I declined, because I don't like day old meat. When the bill came they had comped the $9 dessert - not the $34 prime rib. Accordingly - I did not leave a tip, which on a $139 meal for two would have been considerable. The ambiance of the place is great but they have slipped way behind the competition in terms of quality food and service.

The steaks that were ordered by my guests were not very appetizing. Minuscule

I took family members there for the first time, they were wowed by the structure. Two of us had the lemon chicken, butternut squash soup and chocolate mousse. And one person had the coconut shrimp, Charlie’s chowder and the chocolate mousse. Everyone loved what they had. And, of course, their bread is fantastic. Our server Stacy was wonderful!We already made reservations for Sunday brunch!

We have come here for years and love to show off the Pittsburgh history to out-of-towners. However, during this visit, we had to wait over 10 minutes for plates to arrive so we could begin the buffet, 25% of the food stations were empty, our waiter kept forgetting to get us things we asked for, and then tried to get us to join a frequent diners club three separate times during our meal. Honestly, not a good experience.

Overall a good experience, but not up to previous visits. We decided to arrive a little later than normal, after noon instead of before. We found that some of the smaller food stations in the brunch buffet were out of food and were not refilled, even though there was a couple of hours yet to go for brunch. Best advice is to go early or be prepared to have fewer choices.
