The sweetbread first course was truly memorable - the duck special was uneven. Excellent duck breast with pistachios and very good plain duck breast, but the confit was dry, stringy and obviously overcooked. God wine list with some unusual choices - I would prefer more Cabernet Sauvignons, but that probably doesn't mirror the food as well as the wines listed.

Another GRAND brunch at the Grand! - fresh oysters, the always must have spinach salad, an egg and dumplings, all topped off with wine and apple galette. Such great (my favorite) ambiance, lovely mixed/matched fine china and wonderful, fun servers...all quite perfect actually! No wonder Jamie's up for another James Beard Award! Congrats - you've got it all goin' on at the Grand!! Such a treat!

Cute neighborhood cafe! Small dining area, felt like we were in a Parisian cafe. My husband and I went for brunch. Food was great, we had ham & eggs, eggs Benedict, side of bacon and monkey bread and it was $60, tad expensive. Service was great, I would recommend.

"I don't see any reason to ever eat anywhere else again". Actual quote from me to my husband last night. Now, while I was not completely serious (if only we had the kind of budget to afford that!), what I will say is this: if you are looking for a special place to eat a special meal, and you love creative, French food and amazing wines and beers, look no further. Some of the highlights of our meals were: a hard cider from Normandy, France, sweet corn Madelines with a brown butter topping, A perfectly crafted omelette with king crab filling, and something they called potato salad, which really should be renamed as "the most delicious mashed potatoes you've ever had in your life". They also really know how to make a special occasion special. We have been for both our wedding anniversary and a big milestone birthday, and both times had lovely little surprises thrown in to our amazing, delicious, creative, delightful meals. It's definitely our favorite restaurant these days!

The server was professional and salads were good. Our steak dish was a fatty steak with fatty foie gras on top for a fortune - there’s no way you can eat that much grease or handle the level of salt without suffering afterwards. Other dishes must be better as the place gets good reviews by word of mouth.

Another amazing visit to Grand Cafe! The crumpets and caviar might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The meat fruit is so much fun, decadent and delicious!

Grand Cafe is my Happy Place.

We had a very polished, fantastic server, who really made our night, and our food was fantastic, just as good or maybe even better than when they were new. The only negative was that food took a while. But it was well worth the wait, and we weren't in a hurry. Loved it and we'll be back soon!

Our reservation was for 11:15 and they could not seat us until 11:30. The server did not take our order until 12:00 and the food took a long time to come out. At 1:00 half our party had to leave because of a prior obligation and I was still waiting on the bill. Food was good but portions are VERY small and not worth the money. I went home afterwards and made myself more food.

This is a charming place that you would hardly notice from the street. The food was excellent, especially my spinach salad, the "bandaged cheddar" on someone else's endive salad, and every morsel of my chicken. Pricey but worth it.

We had a really great time there, our server was very nice, and gave us some great recommendations on food! I was a little uncomfortable when she was talking our order for food and started with "ladies first" because I'm not a woman, but felt uncomfortable wanting to correct her. But the rest of the experience was great! Will definitely be back.

I expect a lot from Grand Cafe because it is such a great restaurant The poached shellfish on ice wasn't quite perfectly prepared (the shrimp were a little overcooked and some of the seafood pieces (especially the abalone) were so small as to be almost undetectable. However, the tartare was great, the oysters nicely prepared and the foie dish in the duck egg shell was so good we ordered another. Also, the coffee and espresso were absolutely a great way to end the meal. We'll be back (of course we live within 150 ft. of the restaurant, lucky us!).

The four-course duck special was a marvelous menu, and the classic Meat Fruit was incredible. I don't think that dish has ever been offered in a restaurant in the Twin Cities before.

Grand Café is now serving the best food in Minnesota.
