Grand Cafe - Key West, FL
The food at Grand Cafe Key West also deserves your attention. You can begin your meal with the bruschetta, jumbo lump crab, tomato bisque or the soup de jour. For your entree at Grand Cafe Key West, consider the blackened mahi mahi, capers and creamed potatoes, grilled yellowfin tuna or the pan seared sea scallops.
Waitress seemed to ignore our table. Fish was overcooked.
We had a very enjoyable experience!
Great meal. Love being right on Duval Street. 5-Stars
Limited menu. Service was average but the server was nice. Mashed potatoes were cold and no butter was provided. It was nice to outside however.
The place is beautiful - location, presence, everything on the surface is world class. Our waitress was remarkably pleasant but either didn’t have the support staff or simply too many tables.
My food was well below average.
It’s like a designer and a decorator got together to create the perfect KW dining experience - but forgot to tap a chef and an experienced restaurant manager.
Great location. Food was good. Our server was lovely, but everything was painfully slow. It started with them not having our reservation ... which we booked on Open Table. We watched another couple come after us ... same thing. The hostess looked bewildered on the reservation.
Salads were really good. My son had the truffle shrimp penne ... he loved it. Crab cakes were tasty, but more breading than crab.
Overall it all worked out fine. A bit pricey, slow service, but the location and food make it a nice spot.
Delicious. Great spot to people-watch along Duval Street. Scallops were amazing.
Had a fixed menu for New Year’s Eve which was overpriced.
Very happy with our table, on the porch overlooking Duval St. Food was very good, however my tuna was served with a very spicy Thai sauce, that made my eyes water! People who love Thai food would love the tuna! Our waitress was superb! Gave us time when we needed it, and was quick when we were ready to leave. Will definitely return!
Awesome place to eat.
The service was terrible and the food was mediocre for the price.
Christmas dinner with family
Sat outside and it was a lovely atmosphere. The full snapper red curry dish was fabulous. Service was great.
Christmas Eve dinner w/the family. BEAUTIFUL night w/my husband &boys.
A regular lunch favourite and a new addition to our dinner list
Everything was awesome as usual!!
Thanks to Grand Cafe for taking care of our locals with good food, lovely ambience, and great specials!
Great place to eat, right on Duval st, great for people watching, food was amazing, one of the best places to eat on the Island. You get what you pay for. Highly recommend Grand Cafe.
Crab cake appetizer was very good. Entrees were fair: red Thai curry with shrimp and snapper with shrimp in sauce on top. The snapper seemed to be under done while the shrimp in the sauce were overcooked. Sauce had a nice flavor though. I wouldn’t order this dish again. The red Thai curry dish needed more coconut and heat to punch it up. The lychee martini was excellent, but our server had to be flagged down to place our orders a couple of times, so service is lacking. Overall, I would not recommend or go back - too many other places that are better.
Wonderful atmosphere, with great service and excellent food. A truly enjoyable experience!
The food was good. I had the yellowtail
Snapper with a tomatoes cream
Sauce. It could have used more sauce, but was prepared well and was delicious. My husband had the fillet and added scallops, for which he paid $12 extra, and he only got two of them. His meal was tasty, though.
The service was very slow. They were quite busy. A lot of locals were taking advantage of a half price locals deal. Also, people were there before going to opening night at a local theater. The server offered us free key lime pie to compensate, and we took her up on it. We got one slice to share. Not my favorite key lime pie, though. Very sweet and granular, not smooth. We will go back, though.
Everything is always great at this lovely restaurant . Maria and her staff always make us feel so welcome
Awesome dinner as always!!
We really wanted to try this restaurant. We walked up without a reservation and the outdoor seating was basically empty. We were told, we could not be seated outside without a reservation. So we made a reservation on Open Table, selected the outdoor seating option, and came back a half hour later with our reservation. Again, outdoor tables were maybe 70% empty at this time. We were told that they cannot accept outdoor seating reservations from Open Table and our only option was to sit inside. We mentioned that you could specifically select outdoor seating as an option on the App and they said that it should not be that way and that we could not choose outdoor. We advised them to change their seating options on Open Table but that we would not visit again.
The service was a little too slow for my Taste.. 20 minutes to get a cocktail 45 to get an appetizer. The food was great though!
Great location, have dined there before. This visit was Thanksgiving and they had a full restaurant and about 4 servers. .. not good. Our server was buried, she spoke to us 3 times - in total about 60 seconds. Never got water with our meal, and no chance for a 2nd beverage. And while we had empathy for her the hostess just kept seating people... it made no sense. Clearly they didn’t care about customer service just $$$. Food was fair, it came out hot and correct so good job to the kitchen staff!
Great to people watch out on the front patio. Food was excellent for the price. Cocktails were mediocre and service was very slow.
Celebrated my 40th birthday with a friend of mine and our ladies. We were seated outside, which was awesome this time of year (although the noise from the Hard Rock was a bit overwhelming). You really need to check out the inside of this place though- just a really quaint place with a lot of character.
We haven’t been to Grand Cafe in several years. My husband wasn’t crazy about it the last time we were there.
This time was wonderful! Food, service and ambiance!
Our table was the very best!
Thank you for a wonderful evening!
When the weather is right this is the place to eat and people watch on Duval St. Great location and the food is quite good. I had a fried fish sandwich (yellowtail snapper) and it was as good as any on the island. Good cocktails and friendly service.
Great location. Very good food and service.
waitress was terrible
sea bass had so many bones you couldn’t eat it
no apology from staff
Food was very good. Service wasn’t commensurate with the quality of food or the ambiance.
Lovely older home conversion into classy restaurant. The best conch fritters in Key West. Terrific service in comfortable surrounding.
Awesome brunch place right
A wonderful evening. My wife and I requested seating inside, a storm was coming into the area. Flickering lights added to the ambiance of this old haunted house. The food was exceptional; fresh, flavorful. I had the Chef's sampler plate. We shared the Greek Salad with our entrees. The owner Maria was very attentive. She recommended a wonderful Pinot Noir from Oregon she had personally discovered. Dana was a delightful server. Following dinner we headed to the intimate rear bar to enjoy cordials and coffee. Have recommended to friends and will return.
Impressive cuisine with upscale service in the heart of old town with great views of Duval !
Great for Duval St people watching, yet upscale menu, service and entrees.
Good drinks, but food just so so. Nice outside setting. I would try again though.
We got a great seat on the veranda and the food was so good!
