The unique menu is rich in comfort food and offers a variety of locally sourced produce, fresh seafood, and farmer’s market goods. Granary Tavern serves weekly lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
Its two bars accented with exposed brick and beams create a cozy, intimate setting for diners. The first floor includes a spacious outside patio and panoramic al fresco style windows alongside comfortable high-top and hand-crafted wood tables, ideals for large groups. The downstairs reminds of a wine cellar, with granite foundation walls, exposed beams and warm lighting that crates an intimate ambiance, perfect for quiet business lunches or after-works drinks.
Tables were a little close together. Felt like we were a group with the table next to us. Other than that, perfect!
The garlic dip and house-made chips were terrific but the food we ordered for dinner was not very good. The fish in the fish and chips was basically tasteless although, at least, the fish was fresh. The pizza had too thick a crust and not enough cheese and vegetables on it. Plus the wine by the bottle was grossly overpriced. Noise level was quite high.
Ordered the burger medium rare, came out well-done. Wasn’t even remotely pink. Why ask how I would like my burger cooked if you’re going to make it the exact opposite?
Food was very good. Seven of us were out for a business lunch and we enjoyed the Roast Beef Dip sandwich, Chicken and Waffles, everything was good. Our server was prompt and stayed on top of our beverages. No one left thirsty!
It was great!!
Good food in a good location
The food was pretty average. The service was great. The interior was nice. The noise level was terrible, and made us cut our time there short.
Nice gastro pub with very decent food
Great meal, great server, just very dark in the space!
good place for a small or large group. normal America menu, nothing weird
Good food, good service, nice place. Will return soon.
My group of 4 went for NYEs, and it was a great spot to sit and eat dinner and have some drinks. Short walk to the piers to watch the fireworks. Friendly staff!
Wonderful experience, great food and personable service like you wish you had everywhere! Kurt was great.
We had breakfast here together on a Sunday morning. It was just the thing! Quiet, nice menu, very good food and nice service. We would come here again for breakfast on our next visit!
I love going to Granary frequently for lunch with coworkers. It has great food, reasonable prices and is very convenient to get a table at!
Delicious food and a ton of food for the price - our cups of clam chowder felt like bowls and our entrees were big dishes as well. Our server Andrew was fantastic, super attentive, witty, and helpful. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
I usually love this place, but our truffle fries were soggy and my fish tacos were extremely dry.
The Harvest Grain salad with chicken was DEE LISH! If you order this, I do NOT believe you will be disappointed. From the Greeter to the Wait Staff to the presentation, it couldn't have been a better corporate lunch. We went a bit on the late side and enjoyed just about everything.
Quality food - charcuterie plate was great. Beer selection was good & service was friendly & efficient.
Great service, casual relaxing atmosphere with great food.
Overall a poor experience. We went for brunch with 8 guests. 7 out of 8 of us had poached eggs as part of our dish and they were all overdone. Toast was just bread. Not a great experience.
Overall good meal and above average service. Had a larger party and sever was great. Had been once before and would return.
Everything was great from the bartender to the food
Awesome service- just very cold!
This place was amazing. Great food and the waitress even placed our food on separate plates when I said we were splitting entrees. Above and beyond!
Love the food and environment.
Nice, historic setting for a tavern atmosphere. Menu is not extensive but offers a variety of choices for everyone. We got a variety of menu items at our table of six and all the items were excellent in preparation and flavor. Service was friendly and efficient. Good separation and room between tables. Only quibble was a fairly loud noise level caused by a birthday party group and those there to watch a BC football game. Nevertheless, very enjoyable and recommended for food that is a cut above typical pub or tavern fare.
Excellent food and service! Great atmosphere.
This was my first visit to the Granary Tavern. The food was fabulous and the menu had a lot of variety. Service was a little slow. I think that the option for a quiet conversation was due in part to the fact that the restaurant is so designed as to have three separate dining areas, which keeps the noise level down. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and will certainly be going back.
Apps were great. Food was a bit mediocre. Service took a little long as well.
Was excited to try this restaurant on our last night in Boston. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich which was so bland and boring and so disappointing. Salmon bowl with pork bellies were ordered by the others in our party. Better but wasn’t sure what the pork bellies added other than calories. Overall we weren’t overly impressed
Pretty disappointed about this place it looked so nice the night before I booked a brunch reservation. Service was slow for no one being in there in the morning. Food was okay- one member of the party got an omelette and the cheese was not even melted. Out of drinks on the menu first thing in the morning. Not worth it, there are plenty of other restaurants near here that you can choose.
Another great time at Granary Tavern. Get the bang bang cauliflower!
Service was very slow. Food was just okay. Some meals were good, others not so good. The grain bowl should be warm, it was served ice cold with only 3 shrimp (for $9 extra).
Their bang-bang cauliflower never disappoints! Good place for vegetarian options :)
They don’t have gluten-free menu or anyIndicated options. However our waitress was wonderful. She made sure that every option my friend wanted to order was gluten-free.
She was great on coming back to update us too.
Beautiful, clean, historic building. All the windows to the patio were open, creating a lovely European feel even when sitting inside. Food portions were very generous and everything our party got was delicious. Definitely hoping to return next time I’m in Boston.
Pretty quiet and rainy Monday night when we were there. Despite notifying the greeter that we were there to celebrate my son’s birthday, the waiter apparently did not get the message. Even though the place was nearly empty, our service was quite slow. The food was very good.
Mediocre bar food. Was expecting better food but the flatbread pizza was horrible and the jerk chicken wings were very disappointing. I’ve had better pizza at my local pizzeria. Very disappointed. Staff was very nice but food was not. Drinks were bland and tasted like it was made by a 5 year old. Go elsewhere. Tons of restaurants near the harbor that are far more superior!!!
They were out of most of the drink item on there menu. Server had no idea what they had or didn’t have. Good was good, service was poor.
