We are a casual Italian, Mediterranean Restaurant with a large Italian menu. Organic vegetables, line caught wild seafood, pasture fed beef, vegan and vegetarian dishes. We call this food of the sun. A wine program of over 200 Italian, European and local wines. Under Gran Tivoli is our cellar bar Peppis Cellar with over 300 Whiskies, artisan cocktails and fun elevated bar food.
Warm wine was very disappointing.
Great food with very small portions, little value. Recommend going for a drink and a quick bite.
We ordered two appetizers, one main and one side. We arrived starving and left hungry.
Absolutely amazing venue run by even better people. The pastas and oysters were to die for and the cocktails were out of this world!
Food was fair and the service was so slow.
Food was amazing!!!
Excellent food and outstanding service
Everything was fab — just incredibly loud
Fantastic restaurant, food and service spot on, beware of the Whiskey bar down stairs it’s bad for all of the Right reasons
Our waitress Maryanna provided us wonderful service. We received wonderful menu recommendations from her and was great about checking in to make sure everything was ok with our meal.
The Sommelier, Luke, gave us a wonderful recommendation on an Australian wine that was delicious and worth every penny. Luke constantly checked in to provide us more wine and even gave us a complementary glass of another bottle we were considering. I strongly recommend customers speak to Luke if they are considering a bottle of wine.
The food was fantastic and the service was all around fantastic. Highly recommend Gran Tivoli for any special occasion or just a meal with friends/family.
Great time sat at the bar with my friend. The service was amazing and conversation with bar staff about the wine was super informative! Food was terrific as always. Love this place.
Great wine, service and beautiful upstairs and down (real gem downstairs at the cocktail bar with live jazz band) awesome cocktails- will be back
Oysters and steak amazing. A few of the other dishes quite rich but was tired from jet lag and busy week and just wanted simple
Honestly - top notch
We love trying new places when visiting New York. This is a sleek hip spot managed by Aussies who are fun, and run a good Resteraunt. My biggest complaint was the noise level. Upon arriving we were put in a booth for our party of five and next to us was also a party of five of young somewhat drunk 20 somethings. We spoke to the manager who got them to calm down slightly but it definitely overruled our experience for the evening. The ambience is nice and maybe if I was 20 instead of 60 I would’ve enjoyed it more. I think it depends on what audience they want to attract.
An excellent bar, and excellent food. My dish was amazing, as were those of my dining companions. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Would absolutely go back.
Great for a social occasion. The service is superb, and the manager was a great host who knew what to do when our table was not ready on time. I would return for the service alone, but the drinks are food are spectacular as well. Well done.
The basement is amazing
Food was very disappointing. Tables for two are so small you can barely fit plates and glasses.
The downstairs bar was great but we were given a very small and noisy table at the back of the restaurant which affected our enjoyment of the meal.
We had the most fantastic client dinner here. Tops all around. Very accommodating when I said we needed a bigger table for our party of 4. Great staff. My boss was in from Sydney, so the Aussie owners and staff were a nice perk. Excellent food and we were not over served on portions either.
The bar downstairs was such a nice surprise. Maybe our fave thing about the place. The live jazz band was such a treat. I could picture snuggling in here on cold winter nights. Sipping cocktails and listening to live music.
Staff was great. The drinks at the downstairs bar were superb and the bar staff is engaging and friendly.
Dinner was well prepared and dinning staff attentive. The veal was good not great but overall a good experience.
Our dinner was perfect. Attentive service, delicious food as well as wines and cocktails on point . With such an extensive menu they were able to cater for my wife's allergies without any difficulty. The wide range of options suit a sharing style of meal making this a great spot for 2 or 10 people. We headed downstairs after dinner to peppi's, the speakeasy bar in the basement for nightcap. Wow! What a range of whiskies and great cocktails served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great job guys. We'll be back!
We had the roasted chicken it was like eating fillet mignon was the best chicken ever hear.
We had a great experience at Gran Tivoli! The hostess was very attentive and our server as well. We loved the bread of life basket; the nut bread was especially delicious. They advised us well; we shared two appetizers and had our own entrees. Fluke in a paper bag was visually impressive in its presentation and delicious. The rib eye steak was excellent. We went down to Peppi’s Bar afterwards and heard some live music. Very enjoyable night!
The service here was impeccable: friendly, on point and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and well-portioned, and the space and atmosphere are a delight. Highly recommend!
We were celebrating a birthday dinner - our experience started poorly as we had a 9pm reservation and weren’t seated until just before 10pm. The host and our server were not at all apologetic, and after we had ordered a bread basket because we were starving, we still didn’t receive it until we went and asked our server (she did not come near our table for us to enquire). In the end it arrived about 10 seconds before our main dishes. Despite this start, we ended up loving the experience as all the food was fantastic and the manager Sascha provided absolutely wonderful service and looked after us beautifully once we alerted her to the issues we had experienced. Without her great customer service I definitely wouldn’t be recommending this restaurant, but she totally turned our evening around and we’ll definitely be back.
Allan is first class
Not very spacious and as a 4 person part we were given a pretty small roundtop table.
We were so fortunate to arrive early in the evening which allowed us to spend time with Alan who took excellent care of us, as did the sommelier and server. Amazing lamb chops, breads, zucchini blossoms, mushroom pasta bundles and desserts, and unusual wines to pair with everything. Highly recommend!
Lamb chops, mint pea salad and scallops were fantastic, absolutely world class. Ribeye was also exceptional. Pasta dishes were not nearly as good. Will definitely go again, but stick to the best dishes. Chocolate gelato was also fantastic.
Jazz bar/club in the basement is awesome.
Great location for date night.
Delighted by this Australian owned Italian restaurant - great energetic vibe and outstanding service. Terrific Tasmanian ribeye, delicious crisp roasted potatoes and asparagus cooked just right. Salmon was served surprisingly with an egg on it, but it worked! Affogato was a beautiful presentation and delicious. Didn’t have time to go to the bar downstairs but definitely will make time on our next visit.
Excellent food and service!! But got so loud...couldn’t hear ourselves
Great New York experience for a nice evening out.
Good friends out to dinner
We were earlybirds, which made conversation easy for this special occasion. For starters, the $5 gran breadbasket would be a good value at twice the price. A dish of warm, lightly spiced olives was a perfect complement. Each of us had a different entree. Each was enthralled. Sides of broccoli rabe with marcona almonds was divine. The service was first rate, the banquettes comfy. We had a good amount of wine and that was not value-priced. As the crowd builds up, so does the noise level. Still, it’s people, not loud, crummy music.
Great location, nice ambiance, super nice service and tasty food - great for groups too!
Food was great. Problem was size of tables. Ice cream parlor table intended for a full meal.
In addition, each table had salt and pepper mills, and the waiter left a water jug to add to the crowded space.
Just enough room for each diner to have a plate. If you try to add something to be shared, there is little space for the plate on the table.
The juggling of plates, silverware and water and wine glasses took away from the pleasure of the food.
Food, drinks, service 5 stars. The room is stunning, staff are friendly and the menu is very accommodating to different requirements.
We reserved at 2pm, stayed through till 5pm at the restaurant. There was a reservation on our table for dinner so we were assisted downstairs to the speakeasy style jazz bar called Peppis Cellar.
Apparently you can enter separately from a side street door but we were helped down through the restaurant. The space was AMAZING sooo glad we stayed and found the NYC gem.
The room is incredible. The bartenders were fun and have great cocktail knowledge. There was a jazz band on playing on a small dimly lit stage in the corner and a crazy collection of wine. whiskys and pretty much everythjnf else. We ended up getting more food as the snacks looked delicious. The prosciutto fish was excellent.
I’m coming back! On a date, with friends, family and my work people. Not sure how to review Peppis cellar but it’s got a 5 star from me and my friends.
Amazing food, great wine selection.
A good spot for a date or to dine alone at the gorgeous counter.
Burrata was fabulous. Pastas good but on the small size. Desserts large. Pretty place, suggest reserving a booth
Mothers Day meal. Gorgeous venue. Food was superb from breadbasket (not kidding) to desserts. Impeccable service but not doting. Highlights veal schnitzel and pasta. Will surely return.
It was a very nice setting and a great place. We had a late booking and it still took about an hour before we were seated, then the food took another hour (when it really shouldn't have)
