It was fire!
Great! That’s all that needs to be said!
Thank You Pietro Sasso 😊
See you soon
Delicious food. Great wine. Exceptional staff!!! This little gem is a place you need to check out.
Returned to Gran Sasso again on our annual trip to Brooklyn for the International Chef's Congress. We were not dissappointed. Mr. Sasso and staff made us feel as we were returning to their home for dinner. The cuisine is rustically beautiful and the service exquisitely friendly and down to earth. Wines on list obviously chosen with love and a skilled palate.
We love Sasso. The staff is friendly and attentive — it would be impossible for the staff and owner to be more welcoming, and the food is consistently lovely. It is an undiscovered gem in the neighborhood, its location off the worn paths leading fewer to discover it. It is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, hands down.
Sat outside on a warm fall evening. Very pleasant night. The food was great as was our server.
Great experience! Food is delicious and very good service! Gigi is our favorite server, ever!
Highly recommended! We'll come back!
I loved this place! The food was great and the service was amazing. I highly recommend coming here and will definitely be going back.
Great spot, no fuss homemade Italian food. Will be dining consistent.
Highly recommended the service was on the money the owner pietro was a gentlemen and the food from antipasto to dessert was delicious I will definitely go again and if your in williamsburg check it out .!!!!!
First of all, we were greeted like honored guests and old friends. The staff was lovely, gracious and real. The food was great, the prices excellent, and the dining room a joy to visit, with plenty of room and comfortable chairs. This place is authentic, with old school manners but an absolutely up-to-date cuisine. We loved it and will be back.
we were disappointed with food veal scallopini which we think was pork had no taste of marsala and spinach was bland without any seasoning as garlic evoo mussels were cold and not seasoned at all was the chef off that nite? the wine was the enjoyable part of the dinner.
Gran Sasso is the only place to get GREAT Italian food in Williamsberg
We didn't stay. Too old school in a bad way. We went to Leuca around the corner and had a fantastic brunch. I'm sure the food would have been okay, I just couldn't deal with the atmosphere or vibe.
Really enjoyed an early Sunday dinner in this beautiful space. Surprisingly unbusy.. Terrific authentic Italian food as if you were in a lovely trattoria in Rome. I hope more people catch on to this gem.
Always have a great experience here! Have yet to find an item on the menu we haven't loved, and the service is perfect - attentive but not pushy, knowledgeable but not pretentious, fun yet professional. A great place to bring out of towners or just enjoy a nice night out. Would definitely recommend for a large group!
The food was extremely delicious and the value amazing. I highly recommend the restaurant for casual dining with friends or family. The restaurant was also family friendly- a major plus for us.
The food was delicious. Service was great. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Would definitely come back! Great place to bring family from out of town. Highly recommend the Classic Lasagna and Scaloppine al Marsala and the service was excellent.
I had the Cacio e pepe and that was very delicious. I went with a few friends during brunch time on Saturday and the restaurant was very empty. Service was a bit slow so this could be why, but overall enjoyed the food and the decor of the restaurant.
I brought my wife and 5 yr. old son for a wonderful Mother's Day dinner. The owner stopped by to see how we were doing. The waiter was relaxed, friendly and attentive. The homemade pasta was excellent. The ambiance was comfortable and fairly quiet. Overall a great experience.
Just the strangest restaurant... very odd ambiance with blue and red backlight. Looks so cute from the outside, but like entering bazzaro world when you enter. Owner should check out some of the successful restaurants in Williamsburg, because he weiously missed the mark.
The food was good but the server had no idea about the wines on the wine list. In addition, though I can appreciate the brick wall, the ambience was cheapened by the weird red lighting everywhere. It was under the bar and on the ceiling. I can't quite explain it but boy is it cheesy!
I am sending this as a private message. This is my 5th time at this restaurant. Great atmosphere, great bar area. However they miss on many points. Bar tending service and drinks. Takes to long to get drinks and pours are weak. Dinner service has failed over and over, takes way to long and not very attentive to the customers. I've brought many people here as it's close to many night spots we hit after dinner. These folks will not go back as it has missed to many times. Unfortunate cause the place is beautiful.
Need to get your service down pat!!
My colleagues and I had a beautiful time at Gran Sasso. We couldn't of asked for a more pleasant experience. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by Natalie. Through my dining experience, Giorgi took wonderful care of our table. He was absolutely delightful and exemplified such exceptional impeccable dining expertise while serving our table. This restaurant is a true gem and the above mentioned wait staff are superior and second to none.
Excellent food, good service, solid menu and moderately-priced wine. Good overall experience.
Once again Gran Sasso did not disappoint. Lovely Easter dinner. Great wine selection. Helpful and attentive staff especially our server Natalie . Everything fresh and seasoned perfectly. I had the halibut with the crispy skin and light flaky meat had a little touch of spice with the calabrian chilis. The fried zucchini strips perfectly done with no hint of grease just the fresh zucchini taste. Had the cheesecake which is nothing like any cheesecake I've ever had. Light frothy cream cheese with some lemon curd and a crispy cookie topping. Definitely to die for. Will definitely be back. Need to try their Sunday brunch. Thanks again for a wonderful meal.
Awesome food, great staff. From appetizers to dessert the food is fantastic. Great spot off the beaten path. Strongly recommend this place when you are in the mood for good Italian food.
We stumbled upon this gem and absolutely loved it! The pasta was delicious and with incredibly fresh seasonal ingredients . Wine (gavi di gavi) was a great price - we picked it because it has our daughter's name (Chiara) and also bc we love that particular wine.
The waiter recommended the "cheesecake and I was very skeptical but it was the best (non) cheesecake I have ever had.
We would definitely drive there again for dinner from Manhattan. Grazie Mille!
The food and service were amazing. Took my aunt there for her birthday. They didn't carry her favorite drink but came up with an alternative that made her just as happy. We had impeccable service. Every staff member aims to make you feel special...and they achieve it with ease.
I can't wait to go back!
Exciting to see different items on an Italian Restaurants menu. That's what originally drew us to Gran Sasso. We enjoyed the wine selection and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the seared Tuna Panzanella and Re Umberto.
Walked away from crowds and found this gem on Kent. Everyone was friendly and service oriented. We received wonderful treatment and every dish was good to perfect. Our favorites were the lasagna and the skirt steak with shishito peppers. The wine list had lots of good choices at reasonable prices. I hope to return sooner than later.
Phenomenal food, phenomenal service need I say more?
Pleasantly surprised! Saturday pm
Meal with my husband and boys-in search of well priced Italian and we found it! It is fairly new to the neighborhood. Here, we found a family owned, great service, ambiance and delicious food.
We will return for sure and brunch must be worthy as well!
Went for brunch and loved it! The food was quite good, so many interesting options. Service was outstanding, very attentive yet relaxed.
This place is a hidden gem in Williamsburg. I went there for brunch with friends; there was no wait, and food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend the bruschetta for brunch (with the sausage and fried egg, it's not the bruschetta you're thinking of) or the decadent blueberry pancakes with vanilla ice cream.
Great place. Friendly professional staff , the owner introduced himself felt very comfortable here. Delicious food would definitely recommend the pasta with clam sauce, the branzino and the fried zucchini strips lightly battered and the marinara dipping sauce was excellent. Will definitely be going back to try other things on the menu. Great place for a special occasion.
Great service, gnocchi was delicious. Pizza was good, but crust wasn't my personal style. Great veggie sides and good wine list.
Food was amazing. we were greeted with smiles at the door. perfect for Valentines day.
We had a great evening. The appetizers in particular were delicious. It was a find.
