As with every Union Square Hospitality Group restaurant, Gramercy Tavern was perfect. The service is top notch, and the food is innovative and delicious. I cannot recommend it enough.

Food was outstanding - service was a bonus. Our server Toni was knowledgeable and friendly and super patient with us. She gave excellent wine recommendations and went above and beyond to make our evening smooth, stress free and enjoyable. Every server was smiling when they brought our dishes out and explained what was in each dish thoroughly. We recommend to anyone visiting New York to experience the food here. You will taste the chefs intention with every bite and walk away with an elevated dining experience and a truly unforgettable meal.

We went to the dining room on a Friday night and it was extremely loud. The shouting and behaviour of the guests on the neighbouring tables ruined the atmosphere. I could see that it bothered other diners also. I expected the place to be a bit more classy. Great food but not as good as I had anticipates (maybe my expectations were too high). Overall not worth it for the price.

The experience met my expectations.

Hard to justify spending as much as my wife and I did on any meal, but our experience at Gramercy was well worth it! Service was outstanding and the ambiance was exceptional. My beef tartare was excellent, along with the lamb and the little of my wife’s bass I tried was excellent. The pecan cake was a little dry but the chocolate dessert we had was awesome. We also received several “compliments” from th chef throughout the meal, which made he experience memorable. Thanks!

A wonderful last-minute lucky reservation. 3 of us marveled at the Seasonal Tasking Menu with wine pairings. Every course and glass hit the mark with one small exception. Only slight knock was that the deserts were fun and creative, but 2 frozen courses made us pine for some pastry.

First time to Gramercy and excellent meal. Service was exceptional. Very relaxed but attentive service. Especially as it’s included. Food delicious expecially the pasta starter. Outstanding nice options for the main course and good wine list with wines at various price points. I was worried with the set menu at $129 but it was well worth it for a beautiful delicious dinner with a good friend. Made for a memorable evening all around.

Gramercy Tavern once again earns its rating as a top NY restaurant.

We have been going for 15 years. Outstanding as ever.

Every one was super nice! We attended in between the two showings of Harry Potter part 1 and 2. We were slightly pressed for time, but they were still able to do the 6 course tasting menu, which was outstanding. Each course was very well presented and amazing. The cheddar cheese ice cream was definitely a highlight. They were extremely accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We could not have asked for a better time. The whole staff was absolutely fabulous.

We could not have had a better experience. The food was spectacular, the wine pairings spot on and the staff professional and engaging. The sommelier took a particular interest in explaining the different wines offered and made changes based on our discussion. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an upscale but not stuffy dining experience.

Between the food and service it was an all round wonderful experience.

REMARKABLE! Had my 60th birthday party (16 guests in the party room) here 9 years ago. Better than it was. A wonderful reminder of top quality service, food, décor and wine. There was not a single thing that could have been better. Experience, concern and real people doing their very best to please. One of the BEST in NYC.

An absolutely perfect place for a celebration. The service is on point and the tasting menu was delicious. The beef course and grilled cabbage amuse were true stand outs. The sommelier is also a wizard at pairings. Highly recommend!

For the volume and quality of food Gramercy Tavern cranks our, quite impressive. Dinner was a 3 hour service. A bit long. Think it’s better with a night out with friends and Family where you plan on staying awhile. There’s a few more fine dining experiences I’d rather have for the $175/person but overall good.

It was my friend’s birthday party, and our first time at Gramercy. The food was amazing and everything was good, but the service was rather weird for the Michelin star restaurant. We felt as if we were rushed all the time( we wanted to enjoy the birthday and the food, but constant asking like are you done? Are you done? Are you done? Was sooooooo annoying and unprofessional. It’s not some food chain restaurant where people are rushed so other people can dine for 30 bucks, it’s a rather expensive establishment with the expected better level of service.

We loved everything about this place! The 7 course tasting menu with wine parings was excellent! It was a treat to have such a wonderfully executed & delicious meal in a non pretentious setting. We will definitely be back!

Came here on holiday in New York. Great place for a dinner treat with friends or family ! Busy, good atmosphere. Delicious food ! BUT Fairly expensive and waiting staff could have been more attentive.

This is a wonderful restaurant. This is our third visit and the quality remains consistently high, in every respect. We had the tasting menu for lunch. The food was delicious. Fantastic wine list including excellent wines by the glass. Service was fabulous. The perfect place to celebrate a special birthday.

Gramercy Tavern is a NYC institution for a reason. Everything is impeccable! Service is classy, yet unpretentious and understated. Decor is minimalist and elegant, yet comfortable and unstuffy. Food is fresh with complex flavors, without being over complicated. We had several delightful and intriguing conversations with the sommelier, Mr Alvaro Mondaca, which had us looking forward to the wines. We appreciate that he indulged us by letting us pick his brain! Our server was delightfully down to earth while we lightly chatted about the recent insane “spring” (winter?) weather that snowed out the Yankees home opener, and we had other light conversations with another server while we were exiting. We were there for my birthday, and hubby surprised me by arranging a chocolate dessert instead of cake. My compliments to the pastry chef team. It was such a delight! Thank you for making my day special.

Gramercy Tavern lived up to and exceeded expectations. We visited from Washington DC and and wanted to experience something spectacular, which is exactly what we got. I loved the three-course dinner and the cocktails. I was thrilled to see one of my favorite wines on the menu- Portugieser! Overall, a memorable dining experience.
