Great food and service.
It was good but not fabulous. Pricey for what you received.
Burgers the best so far. Entrees expensive and just ok. Menu is limited too. Drinks good but pricey. Atmosphere nice but so noisy.
It was great!
We were very unimpressed. We got burgers and fries. The burgers didn't appear to be grilled, and consequently the buns were soggy. Wouldn't rush back.
We went to Grain and Cane for an Interview lunch that stretched into well over 2 hours because the service was ridiculously incredibly slow. If this restaurant aspires to be a place for lunch it has to seriously improve the pace of its lunch service. The servers move glacially and are ridiculously unaware that their customers are getting antsy. Perhaps the lunch staff needs training on appropriate pacing, but I know we don't have the time in our day to invest in lunch at this establishment despite its very cool design and pretty decent food.
Joel Camarillo was very attentive, great attention to detail. Will be back just because of him.
Food was good! But took forever to come - like 1.5 hours forever
Dining at Grain & Cane was a wonderful experience! The waitress, Victoria, was excellent! I can’t say enough about the great food and service!
Service was great! Salmon was delicious. Roasted brussel sprouts were really good. Salad and steak were average.
5 of us had dinner and ordered a bottle of wine. Two of us had entrees
and the other 3 ordered appetizers along with 2 desserts for the table. The bill came out to $250
which seems off the wall.
We may or may not return.
Post- Christmas night out with family visiting out of state
Love the changing billboard. The chicken with shisito peppers was fabulous and we ordered mashed potatoes and gravy as a side. We also ordered the crabcake which was excellent. The cocktails are on point, no skimping on the alcohol.
Good meal. Good and very very sweet server. Biscuits need work. And not one of the managers greeted us or asked how our meal was or wished us Happy Holidays which was odd since they must have walked by our table 20x.
They need a bit of training in the floor. Clearing and cleaning table was off. No coat check with all that space was also very odd. Add some coat racks and metal hooks onto banquets would do the trick. Lastly no locks on the doors in the ladies room. Nice spot and would come back if in the area.
Wanted to love this restaurant. Prices high. No bread, etc. I’d suggest a real burger on the menu. Service was very good
Tomahawk was as good as any NYC steak we’ve ever had. Presentation was excellent. The poutine, however, was something very special. And the optional duck confit with it was wonderful. This restaurant is an exciting addition to the neighborhood.
Great ambiance, excellent food and awesome servers!
Food was good, but most dishes for our party of six weren’t hot... also took 45 minutes for the meals to arrive without even any bread offered. It’s a shame because they could be a great dining destination in the area if they upped their game.
Two times we've been there. Two times service was absolutely horrible. There won't be a third time. The most recent time they completely forgot an appetizer we ordered, delivered significantly over cooked steak (followed by a practically moo-ing steak as a make up), other entrees were cold. They were kind enough to give a significant credit on the bill, but I'd prefer better service and food over that.
Nice casual atmosphere. Our server was excellent - professional and attentive but not overbearing. Food was very good. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. Looking forward to going back when the weather is warm enough to sit out on the patio with the fire pit.
I recently had dinner with a couple of friends at the Grain and Cane Restaurant for the first time. The restaurant is located on the backside of the new Embassy Suites Hotel and has its own entrance. The hotel and restaurant is located kinda of in the middle of a big office park, so you can get a little lost navigating your way there but the hotel is big and you can see it from a distance, once in the complex. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good size bar for drinks and socializing. They have a nice but not large menu and we found the food to be very good and the service was excellent ! Great place for casual dining...and I will definitely go back there again
Overpriced food and terrible service. $18 for the house cab. Nice ambiance and the bartenders were great. $79 for the tomahawk steak that was laid on a big bone and did not even look like it was related. Better options for your dining money.
Everything was wonderful but it was way overpriced especially for a restaurant attached to an Embassy Suites! My friend and I had 2 wedge salads, 3 glasses of wine, she had chicken wings, and I had Salmon and our bill was $150!
We loved it and will add to our favorites list and be back soon!
Bourbon was not the same used in the mixed drink description and server did not tell us until someone ordered same on the rocks. Food was tasty but nothing special; a bit pricey. Beautiful restaurant but remote location for locals.
I liked the atmosphere but it was quite noisy and difficult to hear our friends at one of the open tables. I was surprised that no dinner rolls were served at a place called Grain & Cane! Tuna was on the tough side. Rice good though. Steak and short ribs average to good. Dessert good. Salads were just ok. I thought for the price food did not match up. (Entrees in $32 range). I will go back for lunch but probably not dinner. Service was excellent I must say and staff were very nice.
Hopefully things will improve as you are open longer. May give it another try in the future!
The food was outstanding as well as the service and the drinks! We will definitely be back.
My daughter said her steak was perfect. My lobster Cobb was good but could have used a bit more “punch.” Didn’t drink so can’t review the bar. I will go back. A bit pricey.
Very nice place, but too expensive and nothing spectacular
Nice place. Well designed. Service was friendly but not very attentive. Drink menu was interesting. Food was mixed with some items being done well (double cut pork chop) and others just mediocre. Will possibly go back for drinks and maybe bar food.
The service was outstanding. Food was very good. Very comfortable and good place for business lunch or dinner.
Great atmosphere and great food. G & C was an awesome experience!
Amazing experience here!!! There is such a great variety of food groups on the menu- from a spectacular raw bar selection to a whole fried chicken and poutine with duck. Everything was exceptionally delicious. One of my favorite spots in NJ!
One of the best cool new spots in New Jersey! I would suggest going to check it out. American food done well.
The restaurant is very inviting - beautiful, well appointed, on-trend space. The service could be better and they try to up-sell a bit too much. This place could use a bit more polish and professionalism. The service does not meet the decor - and the food is just ok. They should switch up the menu a bit more. I’ve seen the same selection since July. Disappointing
Very good location and dining experience. The only flaw, men’s bathroom need attention and repairs.
Not very impressed. Service was slow and the food was average. Not going back
G&C is trying to be too many things. It's hip and swanky looking for sure, and the menu is TRYING to be that, but the items on the menu don't really go together. They can't decide if they want to be the super upscale restaurant with a crazy wine list and special occasion dinners, or the fun hotel bar with good appies... You can't be both. Stick with the fun bar idea. I mean, if you have an outrageously priced tomahawk steak for two, I shouldn't be able to see the game on 3 giant televisions at the same time. Either split the restaurant into two spaces where the pretty booths are separate from the bar entirely, or stick to one idea altogether. Looking at the menu online and the pictures, it definitely tried to make itself a special occasion-sounding restaurant. Then when we arrived for our anniversary dinner, I saw that there were toddlers on the patio for dinner...I get it, it's attached to the Embassy Suites hotel so folks there have somewhere to go to eat, but you wouldn't guess that from checking out the menu online. Also, crazy city prices. Drink menu was interesting, a good selection of wines but seriously a $19 glass of wine is not the feel of the place when you are seated inside. Waitstaff was not very attentive or friendly. That was the first tipoff that this was not the place we expected. Will come back for drinks and appies with the girls, but NOT for a nice dinner. Its a mismatch of what they think they are and what they actually are.
First time here for lunch after a good experience with dinner service. 2 people in our party had the lobster roll. Mostly roll with very little lobster Very disappointed.
Great place - good service. Been back many times and it is consistent and tasty. Menu is simple and look forward to when they add some new items as well.
Great find! Unique menu. I recommend. Great place for travelers looking to stay nearby as it is situated right next to an Embassy hotel.
