Grafton Street Pub and Grill
Our favorite place in Harvard Square! Food and drinks are excellent.
Great restaurant! Can't believe it took me this long to actually visit, but the outdoor seating was what finally drew me in, and I'm really glad it did. Great food, great portion sizes for the value, great service, and dining on the sidewalk of Harvard Square always means dinner and a show.
Great food and great wine selection!
Located close to Harvard, it's a frequent dinner location for family visiting Harvard students.
Hadn't been here for a while, so I surprised to see how far it had fallen. Usually this place was pretty reliable re food quality, but not this time: I got the appetizer of hummus with za'atar-flavored chips, but there was no discernible za'atar at all: The za'atar was the only reason I ordered that appetizer. The duck was hard and chewy, which is remarkable (and bad) for duck. The chicken was moist (good) but pretty tasteless (not good). The hostess sat us next to a large open window, even though it was pretty cool out (lower 60's), without asking whether we wanted to eat outside (we didn't) or near the open large window (we didn't). This evening did not hold a light to the Grafton Street in the past.
Great time this past Wednesday evening. Would go back again.
We had friends coming in from out of town - looking to do brunch in/near Harvard Square. Wanted outdoor dining option. Sadly it was raining, so we sat inside. Very nice ambiance, decor. While there were great parts of the meal (great Irish breakfast) - but service was really downright awful. Waitress seemed very aloof and distracted. My wife's coffee came out COLD! Cold coffee was just sitting there during a busy brunch time - how could that even happen? My eggs were a little runny - but not overly terrible. Tea pots came out - but no milk. Took a long time to get extras like milk - or my missing fork. I had to go hunting to get things. It was a drag to have such a mediocre experience - especially when we were trying to show off Cambridge. :-(
Great meal before a concert. Fast service and they take reservations! And they have free parking nearby with a reservation- a wonderful surprise for Harvard Square. Five of us- all enjoyed our meals and drinks. New waitress but she managed extremely well. It’s loud in there, so we had to shout to hear each other, but that’s pretty common on a Saturday night in Harvard Square. I’d highly recommend.
Great lunch & weekend brunch place. It's very comfortable inside, especially in the warmer weather when the large front windows are open. My only complaint is that sometimes the music gets in the way of having a conversation.
My wife and I went for Mother's Day dinner before a concert. The food was excellent. There was some confusion so that we received our entrees at the same time as our salads, but they kindly took the entrees back when requested. We were charged more for desserts and coffee than the menu said, but I didn't complain. Overall, it was a good event.
We had a big group and the restaurant was really accommodating. The food, drinks and service were all great and the location is convenient.
Server was really nice and great with helping me getting a meal I wanted . Strawberry cocktail was great !
Grafton street was a nice place to meet with a group near Harvard square. Salmon was delish. Our waitress was very friendly but service was a little slow even though the restaurant wasn't super busy.
They did a great job on a very busy day (Easter brunch). The food was fresh and tasty. The service quite good. We were sitting inside but next to the open patio doors - quite lovely. It was a little loud due to the number of patrons, but that is to be expected. I would return.
Dined at the pub for Easter brunch. Food and service was overall an average experience. I ordered eggs Benedict with the eggs poached medium and the hollandaise sauce on the side. The eggs came as it’s own side which I thought was odd and had to be returned as they were not done medium. The English muffin while nicely toasted had not been buttered and the ham was on the side of the plate, not on the English muffin. Two other diners had their eggs Benedict prepared perfectly. Not sure why my special request was so difficult to follow. The home fries were very good and prepared with red peppers and onions which added to the flavor. Later I ordered a cappuccino which was brought to me with no spoon or offering of sweetener. Server would check in with one person at the table and then not ask any of the others if they needed anything else. We were four diners, not one.
Nice location in Cambridge. Limited but tasty brunch menu.
Service was excellent
Absolutely a repeat
Very nice menu, delicious breakfast, Lucy our server was friendly and professional. A lovely Easter breakfast. Food was delicious and would definitely return.
Would have loved more menu choices but was a good experience overall
Great food -- really helpful servers -- would definitely go back again and again!
Enjoyed our visit and will go again when we are back in Boston/Cambridge
Great food, service and atmosphere. Love the neighborhood pub feel and the locale.
good value for the price. Food very tasty. We had hummus plate, salmon, chopped salad and fish and chips. Free parking a definite plus!!
Awesome service staff. 'Got to sit out on a spring day. Took awhile to get our orders. Coffee cold but replenished with a smile.
Generally very good, waiter very accommodating, wings could have been hotter, food good, but not outstanding.
Bring back the fruit plate- that was a great brunch shared starter
Food was awful: beet and frise salad had a lot of sand! Burger over cooked. Waiter confused and got our order weong
Service was excellent. We stopped in after a visit to the Harvard Bookstore.
We were in cambridge for family members art opening. Great service. We were slow because we were talking about the opening and servers were very patient with us. Food was good comfort food. Drinks were just right.
We came for dinner before a concert at Sanders theater. Our first time back to an old fave in a few years. Service and food were both great. Good selection of craft beer - especially enjoyed the coconut almond porter. Fish and chips was light and tasty. We’ll be back!
Mix up on our drinks twice and slow getting our initial order .
Server very nice and food was above average.
Overall good pub but need a better bartender. Mixed drinks were not her strong suite
Great place, I have been having lunch here consistently for 7 years. Food is awesome, table service can be a bit spotty. I particularly like in the warm weather when they open the wall up to the street.
It's way too noisy for conversation. They did turn down the music when we asked, but it was still difficult to hear anyone sitting more than one person away. Perhaps they could have quieter spaces where there is no music. Or have controls for the music for each area.
This place had a nice Irish feel to it. There is a bar part with tv's but it can also be like a date night if you sit at table tops or in booths. The food was really good quality, and very traditional Irish. Prices were good for what I got, and our server was very nice. Go here for good ole Irish comfort cuisine. Very clean pub as well
Really great food and service. Dishes are well made and tasty. I ordered a Margarita pizza and didn't really like the kind of cheese they had, it seemed to be a low-quality mozzarella or perhaps not even mozzarella.
My husband and I finally had a night out together. We were in Harvard Square and decided to have dinner in Grafton Street. I ordered the Guinness Beef Stew; my husband had Fish and Chips. It was the worst meal we had ever had in a restaurant. You had to search to find the beef in the stew and the stew had NO flavor; I didn’t eat it. The fish and chips were also very disappointing.
The waitress never even asked how our meal was. Just took the plates and got our bill. Won’t be going back.
Great ambience and location.. very busy on st pats day weekend so food quality was a bit compromised but service was excellent.
Visited Grafton for lunch. Limited brunch menu on weekends but the three of us each found good entrees. Our server was Lucy, who was friendly and efficient. Nothing fancy . Good food, terrific location .
Go here approximately once per week. Staff are polite and prompt. The food is good value. The Guiness is excellent!
We had a nice meal at Grafton Street Pub, however we came in totally looking forward to the Guinness-braised short ribs and other items advertised on the Dine Out Boston menu, but were informed by our server that it had ended the evening before because of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day menu. Disappointed for sure. Noise level rules out important conversation. Attentive service and super convenient parking option with Open Table confirmation.
