Love the food and the charming, welcoming service all at a good price but oh the noise! oh the noise.
This restaurant is always reliable and surprising at the same time. A difficult balance to achieve. The food is authentic - as is the wine list. There is a friendly bar area if you were hanging out solo. The service is attentive without being overwhelming. Altogether, it is a great W. Village gathering place.
I have been here several times. The food is consistently good, but this time it was really noisy.
On of my and my wife's favorite old haunts. The burrata with warm roma (I think) tomatoes was phenomenal. Typically, I can take or leave the tomatoes in such a dish, but these slightly charred beauties were competing with the burrata for the best part of the dish. My wife's scallops were perfectly cooked and sweet, and my chicken cutlet with prosciutto and truffle cream sauce was, is divine too pretentious? The only negative is that we were seated in the back room with a 16-person graduation party, but it was fine. Annoying but fine.
Fantastic food !!!
All was excellent except I wanted a 7 PM reservation and open table told me only 6:30 and 7:15. I got there at 7 anyway and the place was empty.
Nice restaurant experience-good food and ambience.
Ottimo! Un po’ caro ma tutto di qualità!
The laziest cooking I have experienced. No one in the kitchen knows what Italian food is. Canned beans, 3 oz overcooked portions, rancid anchovies, and no ability to season. I spoke to leader since there was no manager working and told him how we felt taken advantage of. I asked if they were going out of business.
Excellent food and service, as always! It is one of our favorite restaurants in New York City.
everything about this restaurant is wonderful - food, service, ambiance
Great food great service, perfect gnocchi and my wife’s pasta was super
A nice Italian restaurant. The food we had was nice although the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe were not really good so we cannot give it a 5 star
My friends and I frequent this restaurant. “Mamma” was there and greeted us with a hug. Cruno always takes good care of us and the food is outstanding. The Lasagne and Chicken dishes are amazing! Gradisca remains my favorite restaurant in NYC.
It's hard to find a quiet, charming, affordable place with really good food in the west village. This place is a gem! A real neighborhood spot with delicious homemade pasta. Wonderful service. Will definitely go again!
Excellent meal and attentive service, a great evening out!
This is such an amazing restaurant for any occasion. A def must visit!!!
Gradisca has been my “go to” spot for years. Anytime I have out of town guests, this is where I take them. The food is always great as is the service. The menu is balanced between authentic classic Italian dishes and completely modern Italian cuisine. If mama is there making pasta, get it!
Always delicious. Mama's tortellini is the best. portions are on the smaller side.
I've had a great birthdays' dinner. A warm place attended by kind people... Thank you for making us enjoy the moment!!!
A perfect little restaurant in the West Village - not trendy, but everything fresh and beautifully prepared. Cozy, warm and authentic
The tortellini on point! The lady in the from hand making them topped off the night,
The service and friendliness of the staff is terrific!
Love the food here but we have consistently bad service. Once a waitress spilled a glass of red wine all over us and we had to argue with them to take something off the bill. Took us asking 4 times to get our check. If you’re seated near the bathroom it smells heavily of poo.
The food is excellent which is why we come back but would be awesome if they worked on those things
the appetizers were very good; what me and my wife ordered was ok, we should have ordered a pasta dish after we saw momma making the ravioli's by hand in the restaurant ha ! maybe next time
Lovely. They treated us very nicely and the food was delicious.
Always great, food delicious and wonderful service
Great service. Our waiter’s recommendations were very good. Great neighborhood restaurant for a solid Italian meal and cozy atmosphere
chaotic, slow service was a departure from our usual experience
When we arrived at the restaurant we were taken to a backroom, which was very noisy. We were immediately asked if we would like to sit in the front room which was not as noisy. Great gesture from the waiter! Food was excellent! Loved the mussel appetizer. Good sauce and not too heavy. Great salad with a delicious dressing. Waiter gave us good advice for a red wine and the gin martinis were excellent.
It was awesome. The food, ambience and service was perfect. Dying to go again!
Best tortellini in New York and even better than most places in Italy!
Looked for a place near Village Vanguard for pre-show dinner. Very nice space. The woman who waited on us was friendly and made good suggestions. Food was really good. Good wine list. Would definitely return.
Awesome! Food and service are always amazing. Love the specials and tortellini are always amazing
It's been a few years since I've been to Gradisca and I was really excited to go back & introduce it to one of my friends. The cacio e pepe was disappointing, the gnoochi and artichokes were tasty. Our waiter forgot about us several times from ordering drinks, to reordering drinks and the bill. It felt like we might not be worth his time because only one of us had two glasses of wine , we just ordered pasta & an app. However, everyone was very nice and friendly. A shout out to our bus boy that gave us great service.
Where to begin...I am originally from Italy and I rarely eat at Italian restaurants. I have eaten Italian food for most of my life, so not a big fan of “chicken piccatas” (by the way, such plate does not exist in Italy).
Gradisca exceeded my expectations. Authentic Italian food, like the fried artichokes that my grandma used to make me. Service was great, the whole menu was fantastic. Wine was affordable. The whole atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night.
I would highly recommend this place.
Reliably good dining
Wait staff is excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Place is attactive. Fresh pasta itself was cooked perfectly. But the sauces were not as good as what I can get in a jar at the supermarket.
Prices were double what they should have been. Mediocre food at exorbitant prices.
I guess that's what happens when you have a restaurant in a very expensive neighborhood. They have to charge exorbitant prices to cover the rent. But the food quality does not measure up to the high price at all.
A fabulous visit
