Gracie's Ratings and Reviews
New menu since our last visit and if course higher prices. We ordered off the appetizer menu but combining 2 items to make enough for dinner equaled an entree order. Food was very good and if they included vegetables with entrees, they would be more appealing but they are ala carte so it adds up quickly. Atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing. Easy to visit with friends because it is quiet. Overall, very nice.
This restaurant provided a wonderful ambiance for our group's Christmas celebration. It has a fairly unique vibe for a Portland restaurant. The service was very professional although not as attentive as I might have expected. The food was also good quality, but nothing special. So although I don't have specific issue with this restaurant, there are a lot of good food options in Portland that are better. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more elegant atmosphere (a bit of a throwback), then this might be the place for you.
Gracie's offers an elegant, quiet atmosphere with attentive and well trained staff. Our server, Jordan, found the right balance of chatting, information and discreet attentiveness to suit our group. We all enjoyed dinner very much. The caesar salad was rather ordinary. Entrees were outstanding. Desserts yummy. Always a treat to go to Gracie's.
Attentive wait staff, valet parking a real plus. My friend and I ordered the crab grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. The soup was excellent and the sandwich was tasty, but for the price it seemed a bit small ($18). Cutting it into 4 quarters didn't camouflage that it was a small sandwich. Next time I will make a different choice.
Terribly frustrated and upset that Gracie's took reservations for Thanksgiving Day but didn't indicate that the Thanksgiving meal didn't start until 3pm. Just awful. And I doubt I'll ever come back. My mother and I had to make do with breakfast for Thanksgiving.
We had a very pleasant Thanksgiving brunch at Gracie's (situated in the Hotel DeLuxe). There was some slight confusion with the OpenTable booking info, which led us to believe that a traditional Thanksgiving menu was being served all day, when in fact this was only after 3pm. However, the standard brunch menu contained some excellent options and the very tasty turkey brunch sandwich on the specials list made up for the misunderstanding. All the ingredients were well-prepared, and there was the added bonus of a good brunch cocktail menu.
Gracie's is the perfect quiet and elegant dining spot. The gilded ceilings and decor are gorgeous, the tables aren't crammed in, and the lights are dimmed just enough. The food is good and not overly expensive. The service is normally great, but it was slow on this visit because of a backup in the bar and the kitchen.
I love this restaurant! I highly recommend it as a place where you can actually carry on a normal conversation. Many restaurants focus on industrial or modern décor leaving customers shouting over noise or going home with headaches. Gracie's is the answer if you go out to reconnect with friends. What a glamorous gem.
Absolutely amazing place and great service. Prime was spot on, Dover Sole with vegetables also nice. 1/2 lobster tail was a bit rubbery but had good tasting. The bread putting with whiskey pecan sauce was very nice as was the Spanish Coffee. Brandy Alexander was just ok. Service and overall ambience was top notch!!
I have been to Gracie's many times over the years and usually very much enjoy it. This time was a bit off.... notably from a service and food value perspective. Not sure if the server had too many tables to attend to or just not on the game. Had the chopped salad with chicken, which I have to say the chicken was a more substantial portion than expected.... however, the salad itself was just so-so; nothing particularly interesting.
The ambience is fantastic and sexy, old school. Service staff is fantastic and the attentive, just don't look that great, a bit frumpy. The food was tragic, making an omelet should be simple and easy, but it was overcooked and the ingredients were far from superior or fresh. Steak and eggs seemed to be the winner combination. Couldn't really do that poorly, the steak was cooked great the eggs ....arg! The bread was not good and the soup was a 4 on a 1-10 scale. The coffee was decent and the cocktails were great! Wish the food was so much better. Please fix the kitchen.
This was our fourth visit to Gracie's. We absolutely love this place. It's a Portland institution with every ounce of 1920s charm as true to the time as any place we've seen. Moreover, the food has been 5 star every time we've been there. Highly recommended.
The place is beautiful! The food was above average and we all enjoyed our meals especially those who ordered prime rib. Service was extremely slow. There appeared to be one wait person and an assistant serving the entire dining room. Although she attempted to take care of us we were a party of eight so it was difficult for her to take care of our requests and serve the other 4-5 tables that were in the restaurant at the time. The lobby was beautiful it was fun to go there so we will consider going again.
