Great evening.. Much enjoyed..
Our service was awful. The server got my wine wrong and my husband’s entree wrong , which he ended up eating anyway because the rest of had our meals. I feel like we way overpaid for a bottle of wine
Portland dining month choice of the day. Coconut prawns, pork cheeks, coconut cream with rhubarb compote - it was a very pleasant dining experience. I would dine at Gracie’s again; the food was delicious. With noting- it is a very elegant setting with soaring ceilings and chandeliers and very unpretentious! Quite refreshing to see all manner of apparel at the 18 or so visible tables.
We dined at Gracie's during Portland dining month. The shrimp appetizer was fantastic - crispy, delicate, delightful sauce. The carrot salad was unusual - only ingredients were carrots, with carrot vinaigrette - but it was wonderful. The salmon was very good, but not out of the ordinary. Pork cheeks were incredibly tender, rich, not fatty, and very flavorful. Upside downcake was good - but not outstanding.
Our 40th anniversary deserved a special place, and Gracie's was definitely in that category. As we had never eaten there before; had only been in the bar, this was a new place to us. The ambiance is spectacular, every staff member was courteous and helpful, and the night was perfect. We arrived a bit early but were still immediately seated in a curved style booth. With the way the dining area is set up, the noise level was kept low. The high ceilings, the grand chandeliers, the large floor to ceiling windows were a perfect backdrop for our romantic evening. Our waiter was spot on, not hovering but there to provide as needed. The food was presented well and tasted great. We both had the braised pork cheeks, done to fork-tender perfection, served with mustard grained spaetzle. One appetizer was coconut prawns, which were excellent without being sweet, the other was a very good heirloom carrot salad that showed the vegetable's versatility. Desserts were shared: an excellent blood orange upside down cake showing us a new side to this under-served fruit, and a chocolate torte which very much pleased my sweet tooth. With an interesting bottle of rose champagne to share, we both declared the evening perfect.
Everything was great, soup was cold, returned quickly. Service was great as well seemed short handed and servers were very busy trying to keep up
We ordered from Portland dining month menu and it was superb. The pork cheeks was my favorite.
Anniversary dinner.....they treated us so nicely.....as my wife said...."freekin fantastic". Had to stop her from licking her plate. Made such a fuss Chef Juan came out to talk to his admirers.....All in all, we love the room, quiet, classy, high ceilings.....don't make them like this any more.... the food was wonderful and the flavor profiles for both our dinners were on point, unique and world class.
Christmas present from my son
Great ambiance, good value, slow kitchen, nice staff but they’re stretched too thin detracting from experience
Went for Portland Dining Month and had the Coconut Prawns, Pork Chheks and Choc Torte. All were delicious!!! Best meal I have ever had there!!!
Loved everything about it. In a neighborhood we had forgotten about.
Staff was excellent, from doormen, to bartender to wait staff.
I love the old school elegance of Gracie's. The food is good and the ambience is charming. It is also nice that you can actually carry on a conversation because it does not have the warehouse acoustics that so many trendy restaurants have.
we had the 3 course Portland dining month menu. There were 3 choices for each entree and we choose 2 different ones for each course. The presentation, taste and service was wonderful
The only negative is that the drinks were watered down and overpriced. Also when I called for a reservation they told me they were full up but I checked open table and there were plenty of tables available
After we ordered food and drinks for brunch, we did not get our drinks or refills for a very long time. If you order drinks with a meal, they should be delivered asap. Of course, everything else was pretty good. The ambiance is exceptional, just the service this time was not up to par.
Birthday for my daughter
We went to celebrate a birthday and glad we picked this place. It's a beautiful hotel/restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. I would definitely recommend this place.
We tried Gracie's for the first time and will definitely be back. The salmon was probably the best I've ever eaten, cooked perfectly. Meal was beautifully presented and service impeccable! Noise level was low so you could actually carry on a conversation with others at your table. Loved the old time Hollywood glamour of the restaurant.
Great restaurant set in a room which the ambiance and decor hearken to a bygone era. Went there for breakfast and had a fabulous Belgian Waffle. The waiter was fantastic and and setting could not have been more enjoyable and relaxing. Will definitely be back.
What a wonderful evening! First a drink in the bar then on to fantastic food in the dining room. All the staff were great, our waiter, Daniel, a gem. Every bite of food was just WOW!
Peaceful and intimate. Love the old fashion elegance of the building. It’s lovely to dine on delicious food, where you can converse and relax.
Love the ambience, the food and the staff. My only concern is that we asked a waiter to say we would be 30 later and he said he noted that but he didn’t so we seemed to e a no show.
We’ve eaten breakfast at Gracie’s many times over the last 8 years, sometimes as a couple when staying at the hotel, sometimes with a family group of a dozen or so, including kids. Always freshly prepared items, great service, lovely atmosphere. Our grandkids Have graduated from the Mickey Mouse pancakes to the Belgian pancakes and devour every bite. Everything else—from the simple but generous bowl of oatmeal with Oregon hazelnuts to the omelettes, eggs Benedict, and French toast made with challah—is wonderful. Great fresh squeezed orange juice, too. We’ve only eaten dinner There a few times, but have been impressed with the quality and freshness of the the food. (We also love the bar food at Driftwood.) Great hotel, great restaurant!
Good food, we had the Portland dining month menu and everything was excellent. Salad was amazing
Great server who paid attention to us
Delicious food, beautiful hotel resturant was in. Good price for march dining.
Odd seating arrangement, where you sit on the same side of the table. The ambiance was definitely old classic hotel, old glamour.
Our waitress was not up to speed on the new March menu, and had a hard time answering our questions. Follow up to see if our dinners were ok was minimal.
The food was very good.
I’m glad I tried the restaurant during restaurant week, but will probably not return, under normal circumstances.
Awesome food. Beautiful place. I really enjoyed the diner out there
The setting and service were both fine but the food was mediocre. Probably typical for a hotel restaurant.
Took my daughter here as a birthday present. She loved it. The food was amazing and service was great.
Elegant and calm place to enjoy breakfast with friends. The food was delicious. Gracie’s has become our favorite morning spot. Thank you
We came as a group of 11 for lunch. This is tricky for any restaurant, but Gracie's stepped up and our waiter was excellent.
Everyone loved our lunches, from the fabulous fish and chips to the excellent salmon. We have dined here before and will be sure to return.
Nicely prepared and presented lunches. The hashes are beautiful! And Jeff’s service was, as always, excellent!
Our service experience was all over the map. Some times attentive, and others like we weren't even there. Granted this was a mid-week breakfast event. Gracie's truly has a lovely environment and the space lends exceptionally well toward quiet and peaceful conversations. That is the greatest return. Likely not to be back next year since the service was so spotty and we were there to celebrate our mom's 83rd birthday.
The dinner was lovely and we will return again. Beautiful Hotel Lobby and Restaurant. Thank you
Great atmosphere but the food was a disappointment’ not worth going just for the food, and the price of food was a disappointment as well
Absolutely loved the old Hollywood feel. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Perfect place for a date night.
Love going to Gracie's. A hidden Gem. Nice music that complements the atmosphere. Service is always nice and I love to see that they polish their wine glasses.
we’be been suggesting Gracie’s to all our friends, family, & Portland visitors for over 10 years. we’ve enjoyed many GREAT, memorable meals (usually dinners, occasionally brunch). but sadly, possibly no more. most notable is the diminished menus. many of our favorites are gone. our brunch this time arrived barely lukewarm, potatoes were swimming in a small puddle of oil, poached eggs were over cooked, toast/english muffin were cold/soggy. the tastes were acceptable but were lost in a room temperature dish. very disappointing! waitstaff & hostess were very pleasant & accommodating...thank you for making an otherwise sad meal more acceptable. we hope major improvements are forthcoming and we’ll return. Thank You, Gracie’s for all the past memories!
Absolutely amazing. From the food to the classic Hollywood feel this restaurant truly delivered. Would highly recommend for any romantic dinner by candlelight.
