Food was delicious, especially the roasted pear and burrata salad. The service was extremely rushed. Halfway through the salad we were told our entrees were waiting. Halfway through our entrees, we were hinted at to get going. The restaurant was mainly empty so it was all a bit confusing. Maybe an 8p rush was coming? We dined at 6p on a Friday.
The food is always phenomenal. The service was a little on the slow side. All-in-all, our favorite restaurant in Portland!
Probably not the best idea to go on the day of a Timbers game. Way too noisy. So busy that it was really tough to get our server’s attention for a second cup of coffee or the check. We go there for breakfast because Gracie’s had the recipe for Thiele’s German pancakes. Always light and puffy in the past. Dense and flat this time. The syrup was very thin/watery. I ordered a side of spinach with my poached eggs. The amount in the small cup couldn’t have been a handful prior to cooking and the charge was $7. All in all, not a good experience this time.
Unfortunately, we were not given the booth we requested when we made our reservation, but otherwise, it is always enjoyable to do brunch at Gracie's on Sunday. Terry, of course, is the best server in town!!
Relaxing but elegant atmosphere for friends to gather!
It was fantastic!
We thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal!
A definite restaurant to visit while you’re in Portland. You will not be disappointed!!
Wonderful service with a knowledgeable staff.
Excellent everything. Good food, service, attractive.
Met my son for brunch and was as usual! Just right!
I took friends with me to experience the wonder that is Gracie's. They were not disappointed. The food is excellent. The service is great and the ambience is magical. It is truly an experience not just a meal. I leave feeling good each time I visit.
Poor customer service, took too long and there were only 3 customers. Food was salty. Bread was stale.
Always a reliable place for Sunday brunch. Make reservations ahead of time to avoid waiting.
Old Portland with a touch of casual class. Possible the last grand dining room in the city. Civilized atmosphere without being stuffy, great service, reasonable prices.
Gracie's was unimpressive. It is located in a beautiful hotel and the dining room was lovely. There was very little noise and I couldn't hear any background noise - that was great. The two things that were problematic were the slow service and the food. We ordered drinks and it was almost 15 minutes before they came. Note: there was only one other couple in the dining room. The food was also slow and it was extremely disappointing. We ordered the oysters and had to ask for horseradish. The mushroom risotto was bland - even with the few prawns - which didn't help at all. Our server was very nice. For two people with two drinks, one order of oysters and a split on the mushroom risotto it was $100.
Excellent drinks and food. Enjoyed our meal there. Would definitely recommend.
Love Gracie's !
Always wonderful food, service and atmosphere.
Can't wait to return...
I still would recommend, because the food is phenomenal, but I was very disappointed with the service this time.
Food was amazing but very slow coming out. We definitely noticed the long wait between courses.
There’s a reason this is one of my favorite go-to’s forcthe food, the ambiance, and the service!
Great place for quiet conversation
We had a fantastic time having Sunday Breakfast with our neighbors. We were really looking for a restaurant where the noise level was low so we could talk. Gracie's fit the bill perfectly. The tables are a considerable distance from each other.
The food was fantastic (Corned Beef Hash - WOW!), the Service excellent and spot on and the parking on the street was easy peasy.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We will be back.
Food was really good and the place was quiet. Probably because we were the only ones in the restaurant at 6pm on a Saturday... Which felt odd.
High level of noise made conversation difficult. Server was very polite and helpful but nothing could be done. Would avoid on weekends in the future.
A very pleasant evening and a very elegant restaurant. The best part of the experience was our server, Jimi. She was completely friendly and accommodating all the way through. We plan to return during the Christmas season and looking forward to it!
I have not been to this restaurant in a few years and it does not disappoint! It is the loveliest, most elegant setting and all of the staff are just the best! Even the hotel staff was super friendly. The food was amazing and the desserts were beautiful and delicious! I have to say that celebrating my birthday there with my friend (and her birthday) was really a treat. Thank you so much to the staff at Gracies!!
We went before the Timbers game and it was perfect. Great food, great service, great ambiance. I love dining at Gracie’s.
Steak was good but overdone.
Tuna Nicoise was outstanding.
Food was excellent; service seemed off. We arrived with 4 kids and were not given kid menus or told there were kids menus. When we ordered we became aware of this - not a deal breaker, but attention to detail wasn't there. Our server was great, but they seemed to lack staff otherwise. We were not routinely offered coffee or water refrills and there was no one clearing off dinnerware that was either not being used or needing taken for washing other than the server most of that time. None of this was so bad that I wouldn't go back, but it was definitely noticeable and impacted our experience. That said, it was good for a large group.
Everything was very fresh and beautifully plated. Wonderful place for brunch!
As we enter and are whisked to our table, again--as on many prior visits-- we notice the elegant surroundings and friendliness. Menu selections are superb and prices are appropriate. Pacing was good and our waiter was superb. One "cool dude" wearing a baseball cap at a nearby table took the ambience down two notches. We will be back and bring friends.
Beautiful setting. Food was excellent - we had brunch; all four of us were delighted with our different choices. Waiter started out a little on the "I can barely fake being nice," but warmed up with the meal. Not Portland hip, but elegantly conservative; beautiful care taken for the historical details. Slightly older crowd, but some youngish peeps probably staying at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food...
Judging from what I had seen online with pictures of the place it was portrayed as a much nicer spot than it was when I looking at pictures and when I got there it was like being catfished by google. The service was great. Daniel took great care of us. But for 100 bucks I was expecting far more of a “fine dining” atmosphere for the price tag. I don’t think I will be back anytime soon on less it was free and had some kind of improvement with the food.
Great atmospheric spot for brunch. The salmon Benedict was amazing!
Late anniversary dinner.
It was noisy due to a party, and chilly from AC. The chicken parmisan was edible but thick and not pounded down enough. The mushroom soup and salad were good.
I booked this with the understanding I would get 1000 points, instead seemed to have gotten none. Bait and switch?
It appeared our server was new. Asked if it was okay if all of our eggs were cooked medium poached (must be their standard) but they all came out poached hard. The raw apples in the corned beef was interesting... the corned beef seemed to have been cut and then cooked and very under seasoned. The food was bland. The by one get one mimosa was a nice touch! Also took a long time for her to run our one card for payment. If you are new or busy we understand but you didn’t communicate that to us. It appeared since we had to pay the 20% gratuity being a party over 6 people that the server didn’t feel she had to work for the tip. Disappointing... Won’t be back.
As always, an elegant space with great food and service.
Amazing ambiance. Nice classic American indulgence food...incorporating Dungeness crab. lobster and prime rib with your brunch choices. Drink a mimosa, have fresh squeezed orange juice. My guest and I both ordered the crab and avocado club sandwich on toasted sourdough. It came with a cup of tomato soup for dunking (a bit too sweet for my taste, but still good.) We split an order of mushroom risotto topped with lobster for extra indulgent yumminess. Food was very good, but the ambiance is something special. You do get that old Hollywood moving dining room/piano bar kind of feel. Love the Stardust Memories playing in the background, along with many of the old time movie soundtrack classics. This is the place for out of town guests who can stay at this lovely, beautifully appointed hotel, and then have a great meal in a relaxing, evocative environment. I will return for special occasions and occasional indulgences when I need a little dose of tasty Hollywood dining ambiance.
Valet was fantastic!
I have been to Gracie's many times and think their brunch is the best in Portland. We loved the crab
eggs benedict..but all of their choices are outstanding. The elegance of the ambience, lovely service
and setting in the Hotel Deluxe is my favorite place to bring out of town guests.
