The idea of Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of our employees in Mexico. We wanted to do both; offer organic Mexican food to the communities we serve as well as honor the mothers who work tirelessly in the kitchens of Mexico and often live without their husbands and children while they work side by side with us in California. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love with a menu spearheaded by Executive Chef Chandra Gilbert and agave-based cocktail program by Beverage Director Jason Eisner.

The restaurant was very busy but the service was outstanding and the food was even better.

Loved celebrating a birthday here! Great patio with heaters that really work or they offer blankets too! Delicious dishes like portobello mushroom fajitas, butternut squash quesadilla, delicious ceviche (coconut based) and fantastic pitcher of margaritas. Fabulous wait staff and friendly hosts. The evening couldn’t have been better. Gracias Gracias Madre ;)
Its perfect place for vegan date. Only thing we didn’t like, was table arrangement its too closed. Food was absolutely delicious.

Ever since the first time I ate here I have been craving going back. It was just as good the second time. Everything was fantastic and the service was attentive. Good drinks, great vegan food that anyone - not only vegans - will fall in love with. You definitely do not feel as though you are compromising in any way

Always amazing food. Can’t really go wrong with anything! We had the special of the day nachos, and then had the ceviches and Platos - all delicious! Sit outside if you can, even in the winter it’s toasty with the heat lamps and the ambiance is amazing. My husband and I had extra cocktails and just sat outside and even ordered extra dessert ( apple crumble with coconut ice cream! Delicious!) because we just enjoyed the outdoor scenery. The cocktails are fun and innovative - a fun place for a group or just a couple. Service is as great, everytime our plates were finished there was a waiter who quickly came and cleared our table and gave us fresh plates and utensils. Service was 5 stars. Will Definitely be back!
As always, a great spot for a celebration or just for a casual afternoon. Late November is the perfect time for a leisurely lunch out on the patio-- the perfect temperature and busy, but not too crowded. There are so many options that the challenge is whether to order something tried and true or to be adventurous-- you can't lose either way. Great for bringing visitors to LA as well.
Tried the nacho for the first time... so delish! Always the spicy jalapeño margarita is bomb! Luv it!!

I love the outdoor patio, this is the only vegan restaurant that I enjoy. Food is always great, service is great, & nice atmosphere. To me, because I am not vegan, I do not think the prices are the best because there are no expensive proteins on the plate (I.e. top cuts of steak or great seafood), however it is ok for every once in a while.
Another great dinner with friends at Gracias Madre! We sat outside by the fireplace and loved everything. Very friendly staff and good energy overall. The ceviche appetizer was a particular standout.
Phenomenal cocktails and inventive cuisine makes this place stand out amongst Hollywood's best dining spots.
The food was perfectly edible but a bit uninspiringly seasoned for my taste. The guacamole could not have been plainer and the bland cashew crema was utterly forgettable. To their credit, the quality of the ingredients was quite good and I did feel nourished after dining there. The waitstaff was great and the front desk staff were professionally comported but the front desk could have been quite a bit better managed.
Gracias Madre does not disappoint. Besides being one of LA’s prettiest restaurant spaces, the food, cocktails & service are outstanding.
This was my second time and loved it just as much as the first :)
My partner and I came for brunch as I had already come for dinner on a separate occasion and absolutely loved it (I had the crab cakes - they are a must - and chimichanga). Managed to sit outside for brunch and we share the scone - being English I had high expectations and they were definitely met! We also had the Mexican mimosas too which was delightful! Would highly recommend - must book to not be disappointed!!

It's so great having an upscale place for vegan good. The food here is consistently tasty, healthy and beautifully presented.

I’ll never stop going to Gracias Madre. Everytime I’ve gone everything has been top notch - ambience, service, food, cocktails. I’m not even vegan or vegetarian but this is one of my favorite restaurants. I’m totally converted!
The sweet potato flautas are awesome. Had them with sauteed greens and they were good too. Healthy and filling.

Who knew that 'vegan Mexican' was a thing? I didn't know until I tried Gracias Madre. I know what vegan means and was wondering how they would do in the absence of egg, cheese, etc. I did not need to worry.
Gracias Madre was an amazing experience.
Things we liked:
1. The ambience. We chose to sit outside in a large patio area. The temperature outside was perfect. It really felt like we were in someone's back garden rather than in the middle of a large city.
2. The drinks. I ordered the Michelada de Madre (pictured) which is beer and lime juice in a salted-rim glass. The salted rim also had jalapeño flavor that I found to be yummy. The large ice cube also included jalapeño so the drink got spicier as the ice cube melted.
3. The food. My wife ordered the pozole which was delicious. I ordered a tamale with rajas and a taco with jackfruit carnitas. I don't know what a jackfruit is but if my eyes were shut I wouldn't have known it wasn't pork. Delicious.
4. The salsas. I judge every Mexican restaurant by the quality, flavor and consistency of their salsa. In this regard, Gracias Madre leads them all. I lived 3 years in Mexico and feel I'm a good judge of excellent salsa. Their green and especially their red salsa was the best I have tried in the USA. It was THAT good.
We will return here.
The reason for my review is that we did not get the seating outside I requested while making my reservation way in advance for a very special occasion.
Amazing place with great ambience. The food was a bit disapointing. We had the tasting menu and it was like everything was prepared and just heated. Im sure they can du better, so we will be back to order ala carte some day.
