About Gracias Madre
Our mission is to celebrate and serve the presence of the mother which resides above us, within our hearts, within the earth, and in all those who nurture us. We serve cuisine inspired by the kitchens of Mexico sourced from locally grown organic ingredients. Welcome to a seat at love’s table.
The idea of Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of our employees in Mexico. We wanted to do both; offer organic Mexican food to the communities we serve as well as honor the mothers who work tirelessly in the kitchens of Mexico and often live without their husbands and children while they work side by side with us in California. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love with a menu spearheaded by Executive Chef Chandra Gilbert and agave-based cocktail program by Beverage Director Jason Eisner.

Gracias Madre Ratings and Reviews
Before a made our reservation I read the story on Gracias Madres Website which stated that they served Vegan Mexican Food that was authentic. And i can tell you that is not the case. I sent the tamale & quesadilla back after one bite it wasn't edible. One of the worst vegan food we've had in LA. I was disappointed. We won't be going there again.
Most vegan restaurants are not my thing, but Gracias Madre is a great example of a well executed vegan restaurant. It really isn't Mexican, so don't go expecting excellent Mexican. Even though the chips, salsa and guac are excellent, it's more of a great vegan restaurant with mexican influences and some south of the border flavors. The outdoor patio is beautiful.
Wow! A seriously good quality restaurant. If you are a carnivore, don't let the fact that this is a plant-based restaurant scare you away. I enjoyed this restaurant as much if not more than any high end Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Service was spot-on. Food was great. Fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Food and service were excellent as we celebrated an anniversary in a relatively quiet corner. Squash quesadilla appetizers were delicious and pumpkin flan was heavenly, especially paired with vanilla ‘ice cream. ‘ There are so many choices for entrees it was hard to decide. Special menu for DineLA altered the usual Chef’s Choice.
Can’t wait for another dinner there!
We didn’t know this was a vegan restaurant when we booked it, and we’re not vegan, but this restaurant was AMAZING!!! We both enjoyed it so much. It’s beautiful and fun, and the food was so freakin good. Even if you’re not vegan or even vegetarian, trust me, you’ll never miss the meat! Excellent cocktails too!
Everything is vegan. It’s a fairy wonderland.
The food is amazing. This is actually my 2nd time here and it is so good you don’t want to stop eating- everything. I had the taquitos & taco. Nom! I had the margarita and I had the desert (brownie + orange cake thing)
I would like to eat here everyday.
Everything about this restaurant was great, except for the chairs, most of which were slouchy with no back support. I had to ask for a hardback chair, but it was speedily brought to me. So it was a great experience. Perfect place for vegan friends and non-vegans to eat a great meal and not feel its too veggie/healthy.
It was my first time at Gracias Madre. Really cute for a first impression.
The courtyard is perfect for LA brunching or lunching or hell dinning too!
Price value is fair . I only wish our waitor would have been a lot more helpful and engaging. He seemed grumpy and matter a fact. I'm a full blown LA women born and raised here. So, the whole attitude thing is tired out. He would of gotten a lot more from us with honey rather than lemons. Also, the straws are cute and all. Except they are really non functional. They get wet and after a couple of sips you don't want your cocktail anymore.
Maybe re-visite a new straw strategy.
Overall nice place. Will go back.
This meal was supposed to be a special occasion. I specified that when I called to finalize my reservation. When I get there the host asks “do you still have a seating preference” I respond yes and he sits us at a random table by the busboy station...
the food was hit and miss, something’s good other stuff average. Our waitress was really nice. But how disappointing to have my seating request Completely ignored. I would have been more than happy waiting a few minutes for a good table. comes across like you have to look a certain way to get certain tables.
Saturday was great - attentive waiter, great food etc ; went back on Sunday for brunch and got the worst service - and very veiled anti-LGBT waiter who repeatedly ignored our table while serving others. The manager initially brushed off our concern which only made the matter worst. The food is great, location awesome but you guys need to retrain your staff - including your managers. The response to customers is not defensiveness but responsiveness and action!
