Our mission is to celebrate and serve the presence of the mother which resides above us, within our hearts, within the earth, and in all those who nurture us. We serve cuisine inspired by the kitchens of Mexico sourced from locally grown organic ingredients. Welcome to a seat at love’s table.

The idea of Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of our employees in Mexico. We wanted to do both; offer organic Mexican food to the communities we serve as well as honor the mothers who work tirelessly in the kitchens of Mexico and often live without their husbands and children while they work side by side with us in California. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love paired along side with our agave-based cocktail program spearheaded by Beverage Director Maxwell Reis.

The food was good, just avoid the Churros. I wish I had read other reviews - they were inedible. I left them on the plate. It was unfortunate as they are $16. And our waitress didn't even ask if we liked them. It was also a busy night and there were an incredible amount of people just standing by the bar and speaking very loudly.

I have an allergy to mammal meat and byproducts, and it was such a treat to find a Mexican restaurant that is dedicated vegan (where I have no worry of cross contamination). The food was INCREDIBLE and we will absolutely be back!

I love this place and go a couple times a year. Incredible food, great cocktails. But tonight our section had only one server, and she was over-worked. Took a really long time to even place our drink / food orders, and then we never saw her again, unless we flagged her down because we needed something. Again - not the server’s fault - just clearly needed more staff on the floor on a busy Saturday night. Second round of cocktails took so long to come out, that by the time they arrived our food had already been taken away.

Surprisingly really tasty!! First time eating vegan and my family were impressed with the amount of flavor. Our waiter was super friendly, he alone would be a reason to go back. We sat indoors but we loved the patio area. Having the option to walk-in and sit at the bar is great for spur of the moment lunch or drinks.

For a non vegetarian the food was interesting but not for me. The flavors tried to hard and conflicted with each other. It was almost like trying to add everything in to make it interesting. And mezcal drinks to me are not tasty at all. IMHO

I had a party of 5, and the server attended to us just in the beginning, after our food was served she disappeared! No one asked if we'd like another drink or a dessert card. Other servers were ignoring us. I finally walked up to one of their stations and asked for the bill. The food was very mediocre. Also weird, considering it's a hip Mexican restaurant with "great cocktails", when I asked for a margarita served up (no ice), the server said that they don't have that kind of glassware. The classic margarita on ice tastes like lemonade. This place has a pleasant ambience, but it's definitely overrated.

Finally got a chance to go to Gracias Madre, and it did not disappoint! My go-to Vegan brunch item, in general, is Huevos Rancheros. This was one awesome; and great presentation. Would highly recommend even if you are not following a plant-based diet.

It was Cinco de Mayo, so a naturally hectic day. The servers were rushed. They cleared our water glasses before taking our dessert order. The food is always good, but has become overpriced for the amount of food served. ($16.25 for guacamole??). The margarita used fresh lime juice & was strong, but served in a small glass filled to the brim with ice for $19. This is a great place for vegans, but for the price, I’ll stick to my local Mex restaurant.

Our waitress was in a foul mood. First red flag was family sitting next to us were smoking vape pens. We have a baby and the smoke was awful. Second red flag was how short our waitress was it was like we were upsetting her for the sheer fact we were there. Will not be going back or recommending. The vape pen really was bothersome

I had said it was a birthday celebration when I made the reservation. Right after making the reservation I sent a message asking if they did anything for birthday’s and they said their lemon cookie was complementary for birthday’s. We never received that cookie. No one ever acknowledged that it was my friends birthday. It was pretty disappointing.

Way too pricey and it took forever to even get drinks...they were busy but not slammed. Maybe they have a lot of new staff right now...that's always a possibility in a high turnover city like LA. Worth a visit though - we've been back many times. Excellent drinks, even though they're 15-30% too pricey.
