The idea of Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of our employees in Mexico. We wanted to do both; offer organic Mexican food to the communities we serve as well as honor the mothers who work tirelessly in the kitchens of Mexico and often live without their husbands and children while they work side by side with us in California. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love with a menu spearheaded by Executive Chef Chandra Gilbert and agave-based cocktail program by Beverage Director Jason Eisner.
Great food! I would definitely recommend. I’ve been here numerous times just wish I lived closer.
Food there was only just okay at best, and not that great at worst. The chips were the highlight of the entire meal if I’m completely honest. We ordered the enchiladas verdes, pozole, guacamole, chips, and horchata. The horchata was okay, not really as flavorful as I had hoped for a horchata, needed more cinnamon. The guacamole was okay, they needed to incorporate the cilantro instead of adding garnish stop and also add some Serrano or spice to it, because it was plain without it. The worst item by far was the pozole, it came to us lukewarm and we literally couldn’t taste any seasoning or flavor AT ALL, so freaking disappointing. Lastly, the enchiladas verdes were potato filled with a side of black beans and we got rice as well. Everything tasted just okay, however the lack of multiple textures in the meal sort of diminished the small amount of flavor in this meal. For $80 worth of food and drinks, it is definitely NOT worth it. In my opinion, I have yet to find any TexMex or Mexican style cuisine in West Hollywood or Beverly Hills with any semblance of flavor, and this place continues that tradition.
Awesome menu! Food was great and cocktails were amazing!
This place is SO delicious. Came here for my vegan friend, coming back for the food.
Super speedy and friendly service, huge menu and loved the ambiance... although a bit loud!
Very trendy and fresh atmospher. It has a heavily modern twist to pueblo style kitchen/dining. Food was very good and my table didn't have a single bad plate. All cocktails are served using only tequila or mezcal, they don't serve any other type of liquor. Service was timely and always friendly. Overall a delightful experience.
Had rez for 7:45. Were not seated until 8:07. That is all I have
Fourth time here and it NEVER disappoints.
Food tasted better than ever.
Beautiful patio area for large parties. Food and drinks were delicious for vegan lovers.
Love meeting people for lunch or dinner. The outdoor dining experience is marvelous!
First time here, this place is so cute! Sat outside, it was a nice evening with a nice ambience. We started off with some items from the happy hour men (get the nachos sooo good!). From the regular appetizers menu the crab cakes are small but so delicious, for my main course I had the jackfruit carnitas tacos, I expected them to be more flavorful but they were okay. For dessert the pineapple upside down cake was amazing!
Amazing service. Incredible food. So accommodating to a full table/reservation. Outstanding.
Outside patio is great. Food is ok. Menu changed prior to the day we visited. Service was great
First of all the restaurant is a hot spot and very popular so do not go without a reservation and don’t go early or later than your slot. We arrived 20 min early but the hostess was not very accommodating so we had to wait 20 min to be seated.
Thankfully the waiter and the food were both great. The restaurant is very fun and festive and the menu is creative. If you go with just two people you might opt for the bar to get a better seat.
Order the mole and the quinoa salad and duo bowl. The waiter will also give you great suggestions. Outdoors and indoors are both good choices depending upon the weather.
We had a reservation for preferably outside- and we were sat inside due to waiting for a table to leave that had already paid. Ok, inside is cute too. Our waiter came over quite quickly bringing water- and had an allergy menu ready available! Which was great since we had a few allergies at our table! We put in a starter- then suddenly someone else came over seemingly taking over our table- we were confused- do we have a new waiter? Is this a manager? Did our starter get put in? So we continued to order with this new guy- with no explanation to what was happening. Our starter came out quick- our main meal? Not so much- what happened? It took forever to come out! I was a little worried, because it was my parent’s last vacation day before heading home, and I had recommended this place! I wanted to order a coffee- twenty minutes went by- nobody stopped by our table or even walked by close enough to flag down! Finally, when our food came out, we were able to ask the food runners for some things- which they never brought. Finally one told our server to come over- we literally sat for a solid few minutes not touching our food, because we needed some sharing plates and utensils- which we had asked for when we ordered initially.
All that being said- the food really is amazing- my dad loves meat- and I got him to try vegan AYYYY! My parents loved everything- as did my sister and I.
Service: why did all the servers and hostesses look confused as to what to do/ what was going on? Come on. Pull yourselves together. You had a lil lunch rush- there were so many employees looking lost. Idk.
So for the amount of food you get, it's very reasonable as the ingredients are fresh. The drinks I found a bit pricey but they are delicious. Drinks are the price of some entrees
Beautiful restaurant. Lovely staff. Delicious food. It was our first time and it exceeded expectations! We had the following which we enjoyed: Purista margarita (yum!), chips and guacamole (the chips are perfect!), Caesar salad ( fresh and creamy but could use a little lemon, I think), jackfruit carnitas tacos (wow! Absolutely delicious!), Chile relleno (so flavorful), coffee and peach cobbler (amazing). We will be back for sure!
Service was lacking, although everyone was lovely. Our entrees came out after one couple arrived after us and finished their meal.
Waited awhile for anyone to come around and ask us if we wanted another drink.
The food is all the same using the same 8 ingredients. Just not what it use to be.
Loved it! Whenever I’m in town I have to stop it! I wish we had a Gracias Madre in San Diego rather than Cafe Gratitude. Or better yet...both!
Delicious vegan food and interesting cocktails in a beautiful space.
What a restaurant! Incredible food and great atmosphere. A fantastic place to take non vegans and vegans alike.
The staff is always incredibly rude. Told us to wait at the bar and sat three groups of people before us, even though we were there first with a reservation and couldn't explain why - they just looked wealthier than us. Honestly, the staff profiles and provides poor service to people who don't look wealthy off the bat. The food itself is fine, nothing remarkable and the mark up isn't worth the atrocious service. This is my third time here, I tried to give it a chance and will never return.
I in LA for business and found myself here for lunch. Not a bad place for dining alone. Service was on point. Food was super tasty. Cocktail was refreshing. I am definitely planning to return whenever I’m in the area again.
Went in for lunch and it was my friends birthday. Everything was perfect. The manager was so accommodating and our server Danny was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a great time and will be back for sure. Highly recommended.
Food was good, menu was out of two main dishes which was surprising on a Sunday night and drink was forgotten but aside from that a good experience
Delicious Mexican food, and great cocktails and mezcal selection. Very affordable priced and very nice server that took case of us.
Overpriced for only cooking vegetables
Lovely atmosphere - good food - great service!
Anyone can enjoy the good at gracias Madre. I’m not a vegan but will certainly return!
Definitely should book a reservation because it’s a busy restaurant, but the food and drinks are amazing.
First of all, I’m a die hard carnivore. I made the reservation because of vegetarian friends and didn’t know what to expect.
The first pleasant surprise was the incredible ambience. I’m an architect and live if well designed spaces. This was well done and well lit inside and out.
The entire restaurant, patio, restaurant and bar were jam packed. We were however able to have an audible conversation without straining, and never felt our privacy compromised. Great crowd...
The food and drinks were sublime. I expected indigestion - not being used to things green, but was pleasantly surprised there as well.
Our server, Bailey, was attentive and spot on when she selected our food for us. Everything was just great.
Another two thumbs up for me, and if I had a third, I would raise it as well.
This is the only restaurant in LA where I repeatedly go there over and over that I have to rotate my friends to go with because they just don't wanna do the same restaurant anymore! Haha
Some of the best vegan/vegetarian I've had. Very good selection of specialty cocktails, tequila and mezcal.
Best vegan cuisine around! The dishes are always served with the most freshest ingredients. The hostess’ could probably make guest feel more welcome like you matter. Overall though the restaurant is top notch. We drive over an hour just to eat at this place. Way worth it.
Being a vegetarian GM is great. Delicious food and a good environment - although the music is too loud. Service is usually very good.
Awesome food and service!
Prefect family dinner. Thank you so much for the delicious food.
Everything was so delicious! Great service and their menu has all the mexican classics and creative desserts.
