Good was great.
Service was poor.
We had (in my opinion) the best seat in the house though!
Food was great, but the music is too loud.
Food and drinks were good. Only complaint is that it was loud. Made it hard to hear our server and carry a conversation with my husband.
Excellent food, freshly made tortillas. Good margaritas. Friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Everything we ordered was so delicious. Fun cocktails too. Definitely coming back.
Great food. Service is a little backwards. Drinks take forever to come. Food comes way too fast!
Having recently relocated from Southern CA, we have been on the hunt for great Mexican food and Gracia didn’t disappoint with their selection of “street tacos” (a little bigger in size than your typical street taco too). I’m also a big fan of their house margarita (not too sweet! Perfect mix!). Yes, this restaurant is a little on the pricier side (you have to pay for your own chips and salsa - say what!?). However, the service and food did not disappoint so all in all, I’d say we’ll certainly be back in the future.
Food was mediocre. Meat tacos were not tasty
The Waitress was just "ok" - never checking back to ask if our food was good, if we wanted more drinks or dessert. I am always amazed that in a business where your income is determined (in part) by these things, why people don't take care of their customers? As previous diners had commented, it is very loud in the business. The food is good but not amazing. With average food, poor waitstaff and a loud atmosphere, I would not be able to recommend this business to others.
Fantastic food, excellent service, comfortable, fun ambiance - what more can you ask for? We both got the seafood tostadas and they were amazing, and the homemade tortillas were worth the price of admission all on their own.
Great food, chic atmosphere, and attentive service. Get the chips & salsa sampler - you won’t regret it!
We had a great dinner with friends at Gracia. The food was delicious, from the chips and salsa to the tacos to the enchiladas, everything was great. The cocktails were tasty, and the churros for dessert were the real standout. Add these to the menu so people can plan to leave room in their stomachs! The service was really excellent, as well!
Only reason gave Very Good for Service was because it dropped after we had finished eating. Yet we were visiting as the group of girls were planning our trip to Hawaii and took work to get another drink ordered while there. Otherwise, loved the place and would love to go back again with my fiance.
The food was fantastic. Tried a bloody/spicy maria, the tomato juice was just a little sweeter than I prefer but everything overall was great. Will definitely be back for their dinner options.
Brunch was delicious! We will definitely be backN
Delicious! Such wonderful food! The queso fundito was wonderful. The crab tostadas were yummy but we’re served cold and with a lot of toppings, so it was not what I expected; however so ate the whole thing! Awesome tortillas and guacamole! Service was a little slow, there was no one server. The bar tender came out to help us once he saw us sitting there forever. Great atmosphere though! Would definitely recommend!
Good food. Make sure you make a reservation on the weekend as the wait can be long.
Great for a fun date night with my wife. Just happened to hit happy hour, and that made it even better. Was wonderful as usual!
Authentic, responsibly cultivated and artfully prepared. We had the tacos recommended by our server, and have never had a better taco. The Barbacoa was my favorite. Our server is passionate and knowledgeable, making the experience delightful.
Everything was delicious and the crab tostada!- extremely memorable. We will definitely return to satiate the cravings we are already experiencing for it!
The food continues to be outstanding, especially the pozole. The noise level makes it impossible to enjoy
We forgot how *loud it is in there. You cannot hear each other without having to talk much louder than normal. The tortilla soup was overpriced at $17, and although the chicken was very tender, there was not enough of it and the soup was way too salty. The taco and salsas were very good. *My geeky husband has a decibel meter app and it was a constant 79 decibels.
The service was excellent and swift.
Excellent food, noisy place for dinner and difficult to hear across tables, so not the best for conversation.
I took my friend for a birthday lunch. Very cute spot. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks were great. My friend thought her soup was good. We both thought $17 was pricey for soup. My tacos were okay but dry. I would go back for happy hour but will not revisit for a meal.
We went to Gracia for Mother’s Day and could not have been happier. The staff was so attentive and patient (we had two little ones with us) and made us feel so special. The food was AMAZING and the serving size is ridiculous. Fair warning, one taco is really like two. We left completely stuffed! Will be back again!
This place is worth it for their antojitos alone. Get a large chips and guacamole for just yourself. Guacamole is best in town. I would have stuck my face in the bowl if I didn’t think it would mess up my lashes. And the chicharrones with salsa is a must if you plan on having a drink, which of course you will. Their homemade masa chips are their specialty so get it! If you still have room for a real meal, their carne asada is great with their salsa verde or sometimes chimchurri. If you’re thinking you just want a small bite after all the chips, start with the a la carte tacos. Because chances are you’ll want more than just a little bite and you’ll end up ordering one of each because you can’t stop. Carnitas, campechanos, lengua, and al pastor are the favorites for our family of voracious carnivores. Pozole and menudo feel like a loving hot hug from your abuela. The thing to skip is the coctel de mariscos. Unpleasantly sweet like fish mixed with watery spicy ketchup. Otherwise, what a fun, bright, cheery spot with solid Mexican offerings that hold their own even on a street that already boasts the famed Carta de Oaxaca and the popular Matador.
Garcia serves up fantastic dishes and great cocktails in a cozy, well decorated shop over in Ballard. While TVs in the bar aren't the end of the world, a group of 10-12 men screaming at them like they're in a sports bar diminished the cozy atmosphere that is Gracia... wish you'd reconsider.
The wait staff is wonderful. They accommodated my elderly mother and her walker with no complaint. The food was so good the first time that we chose to visit this restaurant again. Portion size is perfect. Tortillas are home made and the best I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh. The margarita was perfect.
Unbelievable food - Probably the best Mexican we’ve ever had (not just in Seattle!). Really friendly team, we were recommended to go there, and they in turn gave us some other recommendations of other places to try out. What a great place, definitely worth the trip from downtown.
Birthday for daughter
I must return - I did not have a chance to try any tequila flights! Pozole is superb, and the staff encouraged us to try the brunch as well!
Wonderful food, the enchilada was fabulous. great atmosphere, will be back!
Great food and experience. A little pricey but worth it. We will be back!
We did the Seattle restaurant week menu and all of the options were amazing but we both ordered the carne Asada and it was cold! They also forgot to serve us tortillas and our waitress didn’t come to check in on how our meal was. I still love this place and will be back but not for restaurant week.
If you aren't making handmade tortillas, you are doing something wrong. Gracia takes it a step further and makes their masa from scratch. You can't beat that! That plus their selection of tequila, mezcal and even sotol makes it a top spot for Mexican cuisine.
The service was so slow given the fact there were only 3 other tables with people eating. This was a Monday afternoon around 1:30pm. There was also plenty of staff around so there is no excuse for the extremely slow service. The food was OK-I have had better. Prices were outrageous. Won’t be going back.
First time trying this place & was really disappointed with the service. They were clearly short handed on a Saturday night and our waiter was nice but also unhappy when I complained that my $12 glass of wine was about 3 oz of actual liquid. We got double charged for one item and the soup we ordered for a child was $17 of too spicy for him to eat. I asked specifically to hold the habaneros as it was for my 2 yr old. Any parent out there knows that if your kid is still hungry after slllloooowww service that it's a BUST for the whole family. Won't be going back which is too bad as the tacos were really tasty.
We had family in from out of town. We had a wonderful dinner with excellent service. Very fresh ingredients cooked deliciously. Parking in Ballard is a challenge!
Had a delicious cocktail (Corpse Reviver #5), the Coctel de Mariscos which was delicious but the salsa dominated the flavor. The accompanying house-made thick chips were perfect to scoop up the remaining salsa. Tried two tacos (lamb and pork): both were very tasty and generous amounts of meat in the filling, but the lamb filling was so juicy that the tortilla was soggy and fell apart as I ate it.
As other reviews have mentioned, the noise was deafening. I was a single diner so didn't bother me, but not a good place for conversation during dinner unless you like to shout ;-)
I would go back...
I just didn't think the food was very interesting. Queso fundido didn't have very much flavor... the tacos I had were very plain. Chips and salsa were good. Nice ambiance and cocktails, though!
