Gotham Bistro is an American restaurant. It also has a bar. Gotham Bistro's ambience is very welcoming. With carpeted floor and elegant sets of wooden tables and chairs, the restaurant's interior is elegant. Gotham Bistro is famous for its friendly staff that treats their guests like family. The casual yet sophisticated vibe of Gotham Bistro makes it an excellent dining option for both families and couples.
Gotham Bistro is known for serving delicious burgers and salads. Among the customer favorites include the Times Square Salad, an interesting combination of vegetables with chicken and ham pieces with some mozzarella. The burgers at Gotham Bistro have pretzel buns which make the burgers taste even tastier. The bar has limited seating, but excellent service.
Made a reservation for 9pm on 1/23. When we arrived, we were told the kitchen was behind approximately 40 minutes. While this was understandable due to the blizzard going on that day, we said we were happy to wait and have a few drinks. We were seated, but never given any menus. We waited 30 minutes with no waiter, no water, no drinks. In fact, no other employee ever said another word to us. We saw 2 male employees running in and out of the kitchen doing all of the work while 3 female employees stood around at the front check in on their smart phones the entire time. The only thing they did was turn customers away. I'm not sure I'll even come back to redeem my gift certificate. Terrible experience all the way around. Someone needs to seriously examine the staff and get rid of those useless standabouts.
We wanted to find an easy place near our hotel on the night before catching an early flight out of town. Described as a "gem" of a place, this seemed promising. A quick look through the menu provided on the Open Table site gave us some solid options as a reasonable price. In the end, I felt as though the description of the restaurant on Open Table and the actual place were worlds apart. This is a glorified kitchen attached to a room where complementary breakfast is served each morning to the Sheraton guests. The space was dark. The menu was extremely scaled back from the menu online, and I found myself searching to try to find the best option. The guacamole was not good--maybe a mix with some avocado pieces thrown in for good measure? Our salads were basic and perfectly good, so in the end it was fine, and our waitress was delightful. I just think it is important to not overstate this place--this is no hidden "gem."
The environment was interesting because there were not many people there at the time, so we were treated to special attention by the Chef and his staff. The Chicken Parmegian and Pulled Pork Sandwich were very good, coupled with a lovely bottle of Spanish Pilot Grigio!
Tried this quiet spot inside the Sheraton because we had a Restrauant.com certificate. The food was more than reasonably priced for the quality. Delicious fish tacos and meatloaf. Started with some kicking corn fritters and chips & guacamole. Decent selection of beers to accompany dinner. Recommended for a quiet spot to get a good meal!
Wasn't what we were expecting
Unless you are staying at the Sheraton, which is where this restaurant is located (at the way back), don't bother eating here. EXTREMELY LIMITED MENU.
We found refuge here as NY was being inundated with snow and we were staying at the hotel next door. The food was adequate, service quite good and friendly as we were practically the only ones there. However, this is more a very small coffee shop than a restaurant. I would recommend it only in an emergency such as ours.
They were confused to have guests with a reservation not staying at their hotel come for breakfast on a cold icy morning. The fare was fine the service was lacking.
The room was very noise free and comfortable. The menu was reasonably proced with a wide variety that would appeal to various tastes.
The wait staff was very knowledgable and courteous and service was excellent.
The meals we ordered was delicious with right amount of flavor.
dark, no windows, shouldn't be considered theater district because it's too far of a walk, a bit depressing, not at all what we were looking for. The food is ok but nothing special or unique. Prices are pretty good, service is ok, not great.
I was having lunch there with friends, two of whom are vegan, and one vegetarian. Everyone found something delicious on the menu. The waitress knew the ingredients and gave great suggestions.
Place looks like a cafeteria, calamari was not good. Main course was OK meatloaf and salmon. Desert tasted like it came from the frozen food aisle at the supermarket, apple pie and ice cream. Maybe good for lunch but definitely not a place I would go back to or recommend
When our group of business men arrived for a formal breakfast experience, the staff greeted them with no awareness of a reservation at all. Tables had to be reorganized and other guests moved to accommodate their party. This was an embarrassment to say the least for a formal meeting that had been prearranged.
Went there after an off Broadway Theater on a cold snowy night. Had a burger and it was quite good. it is in a hotel and we were the only people there. It was a Sunday and they had a TV to watch football while we were eating so was perfect for us.
If you are expecting a dining experience, I wouldn't recommend but for a decent burger at a reasonable price it was great!
Disappointed that they didn't have any champagne as advertised on the menu. Not enough wait staff for number of people dining.
Great all around experience.
Ambience 3 stars
Food prep excellent.
Vegetarian selections adequate.
Wait staff very attentive.
Great wine selection.
Accepts restaurant.com coupons.
Excellent service, professional yet comfortable atmosphere and the food was AWESOME!
If this place simply hired a few more staff, all could be solved. One lady to greet & seat us, & take our order, & deliver our food......while also delivering room service throughout the hotel......Not good.
I had a reservation for four friends at 7pm on a Friday night. We arrived on time and there was no host, no waiters, no people. We waited for 10 minutes and still nobody. We ended up leaving and finding another restaurant with a visible staff.
We ordered the French dip sandwich with fries, and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The French dip was tender and good, and the fries were homemade from real potatoes! The Caesar salad and chicken were okay. There was absolutely no ambience - no pictures on the walls, just a room that looked like it may have been an indoor pool at one time with tables in it. Only one other table was filled. Was disappointed with the limited selections on the menu.
I dined at the Gotham Bistro earlier this week with a girlfriend for a “catching up dinner”. To say the least we had an awesome time. Although the restaurant was small it was not overcrowded and the service was excellent. I enjoyed a drink from the cocktail menu, I think it was called the Peach Cosmo and I had the salmon which was great! Check this place out!
The service staff such good care of you. They don't miss a beat. Well done!
I have enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners at Gotham Bistro for years. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and Quesadilla for Breakfast. For Dinner, I enjoy their New York Pepper Steak with Garlic Potatoes. If you like comfort food, Gothem Bistro is the place.
