Since opening its doors in 1984 Gotham has received a record six 3-star reviews from the New York Times. After closing alongside the pandemic for 18 months, in November of 2021 a renovated Gotham was reopened by new ownership, longtime Managing Partner Bret Csencsitz and environmentalist Kevin Conrad, with former pastry chef Ron Paprocki taking over the iconic kitchen. Redesigned by its original architect James Biber, Gotham is filled with a vibrant collection of contemporary art by established and emerging artists. A new library and lounge expand the bar experience, while Chef Paprocki's spectacular new menu is being heralded as equally approachable and unforgettable.

Gotham Jazz is singing! We are proud to now offer extended Saturday night jazz with The Dal Segño Trio! Join us for the 7:30-10pm dinner set or our new late-night set from 10:30pm-12am with The Dal Segño Trio & Friends with fellow musicians invited to jam with the Trio for an improvised night of world-class jazz. Our Jazz Experience allows you to reserve a table with priority music seating for just drinks. If you wish to dine, our full menu is available until 9:30pm. We had a wonderful evening at the new Gotham. The food, decor and service were all extraordinary. We were a group of 9 with varying tastes in liquor and food. The service was prompt, courteous and well orchestrated. The food was amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

Food was fine. Service ok. Venue and ambiance way off. Outdated and in serious need of an overhaul. Weird, old, and dirty bathrooms. Tacky art. Maybe 20% full (although it was a Monday). I honestly felt like I had to apologize for my team for bringing them here. Do not recommend.

I’m familiar with many great restaurants in New York, and I’ve never experienced the Gotham. Well I went on Saturday night for my birthday to be joined by some other guests, and we had an outstanding meal. The service was excellent and I couldn’t have been more impressed. Our food was over the top. The wine selection from the summer year was fantastic. I have nothing to say but I will be back again and truly appreciate making my night fantastic thank you.

After visiting Gotham many years ago it was on our list to visit the next time we were in NYC - it certainly didn’t disappoint! The restaurant was unable to deliver the prix fixed 4 course meals in a timely manner. The wait for each course, drinks, even bread was unbearable. Service from our captain was non-existent. Especially disappointing given this was a special celebration. Considering the highly inflated prices due to it being Valentines Day, this was an extremely disappointing experience.

Disappointing. As frequent diners for years at the original Gotham, the new Gotham turns out to be a huge disappointment on all levels. The appetizer list, although long, is filled with odd choices. Even a plain green salad arrived with leaves that looked like porch planters and tasted very harsh. The entree list is equally odd and portions are very small to the point that saving money appears to be the goal of the owners. The table setting is very low end, including the glassware, for a restaurant of this caliber. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy a nice French wine reasonably priced. There is a strict “no substitutions” rule, to the point that we were told that our waitress was fearful of making any request to the chef. Overall, this is not classic sophisticated American cuisine, nor a special occasion dining experience. I suggest that they should consult with chef Portale immediately to turn the menu around.

This was my first time back since the reopening. The room's still beautiful and the art's a little different than it was. The menu, the food, the wine list, and the service were all great. I had the pate, which itself was delicious - and the pairs of roasted baby vegetables looked and tasted great. After than I had the duck, which was cooked perfectly. Got some useful insight into some wines I was considering from the sommelier, and dessert was fantastic too - we shared a special apple tart tatin with vanilla ice cream. Simple but perfect. Looking forward to my next visit.

Second visit, the staff is very good and the food excellent. This visit they were out of their 212 Pinot Noir but they made amends. I will return and if you haven’t been I suggest you go yourself.

Great service, my water glass was rarely empty through the entire experience. Food was exquisite, the plating was excellent, and the flavors were unique and polished. Wish it weren’t so expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of service and quality.
