Since opening its doors in 1984 Gotham has received a record six 3-star reviews from the New York Times. After closing alongside the pandemic for 18 months, in November of 2021 a renovated Gotham was reopened by new ownership, longtime Managing Partner Bret Csencsitz and environmentalist Kevin Conrad, with former pastry chef Ron Paprocki taking over the iconic kitchen. Redesigned by its original architect James Biber, Gotham is filled with a vibrant collection of contemporary art by established and emerging artists. A new library and lounge expand the bar experience, while Chef Paprocki's spectacular new menu is being heralded as equally approachable and unforgettable.

We had a lovely graduation lunch celebration and everything was right on point. The food is back and the drinks as good as ever. Wonderful staff and a lovely airy atmosphere and not too loud. We will be back soon!

We had a wonderful experience at Gotham. Always loved the predecessor- Gotham Bar & Grill - and was excited to go there with my family. The service was impeccable and the food was terrific. Pricey at $200 per person but if you’re good for a splurge, you won’t be disappointed.

I celebrated my graduation with my girlfriend and the managers of Gotham went out of their way to make the celebration special. The food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was a perfect example of what I imagined classy New York cuisine would feel like. My only complaint is that our young male waiter was completely useless. He was very late to come to our table, and over the course of the night we only saw him three times. He even explained the specials of the night to the table beside us without explaining them to us. The cherry on top was that I paid the bill with cash and we watched him take the cash from another individual (one of the bus boys who had been tending our table all night) to the till without even coming to thank us or say goodbye. However, a special thanks to the three managers and two bus boys (who we saw throughout the night) who were very polite and helpful. THEY made the night special, but it was quite apparent that our waiter was focused on another table with older, more-business looking males in which he was constantly assisting. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone as the food and atmosphere was great, I just hope you don’t get the same “captain” as we did.

If you are looking for a grown up restaurant, with really well made delicious classic food - this is the spot. Solid choice. Room is a bit dated and the crowd may not be the coolest but the service is kind, gracious and quick and the food is absolutely delicious.

We try to go there once every month or two now that they have been re-opened for a while. While the menu is limited, the food is unsurpassed in Manhattan for what they are offering. We consistently leave thinking we should come more often.

Have been going to Gotham for many years with different chefs. We had a wonderful time at Gotham celebrating my grandson’s graduation. The service is friendly, professional and efficient. The cocktail menu is fun and wine by the glass had many options. The food was delicious and portions, not skimpy. We had the halibut and Arctic char. The sauces were unusual and added to but did not overwhelm the taste of the fish. Deserts were spectacular. We could not decide which was our favorite. A bonus was that we were able to speak with each other and actually heard each other even though the tables around us were full. A wonderful evening had by all three generations.

We have been back to the new Gotham for dinner, but had not been there for lunch. This is the first trip for lunch since they reopened. We live in the neighborhood and always found lunch at the bar a very grown-up NYC experience. It did not disappoint. All three of us had the fixed price offerings with delicious starters and wonderful entres. The wine-by-the-glass choices were also great. Everything is little on the pricey side, but all worth it. This is truly a gem and we will be back again and again.

First time back since it has reopened. I liked the remodel. Our table was terrible, next to a service station. I felt like we were invited to a party but not allowed to sit with the adults and instead were stuck in a corner away from everything. I didn't feel like we were in the restaurant. Very disapponting.

The food and service was excellent. Came backto the restaurant before the drive from (Connecticut) to have a drink at the bar. Somewhat shocked to see a can of beer (local alcohol 4.7 abv) for $16. Love to hear the rationale for that.

We found Gotham online and took a chance. It was outstanding! The service was over the top attentive and warm without being intrusive. The food was exceptional. The restaurant is beautiful and airy with an array of artwork. I had the halibut and my husband had the duck - both delicious. The oysters, crudo, and tuna tartar were all amazing. We will definitely be back.

Service is slightly better than food at this place. We received lots of attention until they got busy and the wave of attention reduced to a calm. Duck and strake were decent but pork belly was too dry. Overall, it’s a nice casual dining place.

Our experience at Gotham was outstanding. There were 6 of us and all the main courses were wonderful, especially the duck breast and halibut. The apps were not as consistent but we do recommend the tuna tartar and caution you not to order the crudite. The service was a bit uneven but nothing we don't expect as of late. The owner is present, engaged and engaging, and our overall experience was excellent - Highly recommended! (The crudite detail for those interested consisted of 3 thin asparagas sliced lengthwise, 2 baby carrots and one other forgetable item - it was absurd).
