Situated on the main floor of the Gordon Hotel, The Gordon Tavern is an oasis of Americana. The modern decor with rustic undertones, features natural wood accents and serves as the perfect backdrop to a rich and clever menu of classic American comfort food with a northwest flair.

                                                Our server was very tentative and pleasant. That was a good experience. The food however, was not up to the standards I would expect. The pork chop was very thin and dry and the sauce was extremely salty. Couldn’t eat it. We also had the salmon which was cooked well However they had obviously placed some other food on the plate with the salmon saw their mistake and picked it up, but left the sauce behind didn’t clean it up. It did not go with the lemon Blanc sauce for the salmon. Very disappointing that they would do that

                                                When we arrived, the waiter who sat us down was rude. He didn’t tell anyone that we were outside sitting and nobody came. After at least 10 minutes I got up to try to find someone to get me some water and order my food and was ignored. Finally, the waiter brought food to the table next to us and ignored us. I had to flag him down to order. He didn’t write my order down and got it completely wrong. I ordered the steak and eggs, medium rare with poached eggs. I received scrambled eggs and medium well meat. The steak I had to cut with a butter knife because he didn’t bring me a steak knife, and it was extremely grisly. I asked for ketchup and hot sauce and he forgot, again. I had to ask him for it when he finally walked by. This is not my first time having horrible service at this restaurant. The last time I came, they brought my kids food and my bill to pay before even bringing my husbands and my food out. They forgot to put our order in. This place is a joke and has terrible service. One thing that could help is getting the waiters iPads to write the orders down and send it to the kitchen immediately. I most likely will not return.

                                                We had reservations at 6:15 PM. When we got there, we were told that the kitchen couldn’t accommodate us until 30 to 40 minutes later. What is the sense of having reservations? After we were sat, although the server was nice enough, the service was very very slow. To the point that one of us had to get up and go to the bar ourselves to get our own beverage. They are really, really struggling right now for whatever reason.

                                                We were looking forward to eating there for lunch on Sunday. But when we got there, they had a very limited menu. They had a brunch menu only that 90% was breakfast plus three different salads and three  choices for sandwiches. The regular menu was not available at all that they offer during the week. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else.

                                                First time back in a year or so, and six of us celebrated a birthday today. Everyone was helpfull, and dinners were great, Great set up, and we will be back sooner!

                                                The service almost ruined our experience. We saw just one server, and the hostess wouldn’t make eye contact with us, even while setting a table right next to us. After 20 minutes, we flagged down the bartender to take our order. He was very jovial, and saved the day. The farmers breakfast was very good,. The avocado toast was supposed to have micro greens but didn’t. We asked for a side salad instead, and it was yummy. But then we had to wait a long time to get our check, finally flagging down the hostess. If they were understaffed due to an emergency, we would have understood. It this seemed to be normal for them. I really want to like this place, but it’s hard.

                                                Reservation was for 10:30AM. We arrived 5 minutes early. We weren’t acknowledged for 20 minutes. Once seated, we had to eventually flag down a server for for drinks and food order. Server never returned independently. We had to seek him out whenever we needed anything. Food was good. Service was lacking. They were busy and appeared to be understaffed.

                                                For a 10:30 reservation they took an extremely long time to get to our table and then they were out of coffee cups and told us in a rude tone that coffee would be awhile because they couldn’t keep up with the brewing. Huh? We left. The morning prior we asked for a second to decide and we never saw our server again. It felt like he was punishing us. Bizarre.
