Reserved table was set snd ready. Service was prompt. Waitstaff efficient and friendly. All at table thought food was quite good.
It was my sons birthday dinner and the staff was amazing our server went above and beyond!
We were on a time constraint to see a show at asu Gammage and the server accommodated us with time to spare. Excellent beer and value
GB has slipped considerably of late; buffalo wings were dry and not even remotely spicy, beer and Prosecco were flat, service was fine though a bit disengaged (it was the day after Saint Patty’s Day so I’ll cut her some slack there). The food, in general, was as prepared as it gets- could have come from a THIF or Applebee’s kitchen. Just poor quality stuff.
Our group made reservations at 7:30 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not very busy. Service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to come out and the waiter didn't take our order until we had been seated for an hour. After ordering the food took an additional 45 minutes. Waiter was friendly and made excellent recommendations but was not very attentive. The food however was fantastic. The food outweighed the bad service. I would eat here again.
Ordered shrimp and mango tacos. Asked for all sauce on side. Came with crema on side and sirracha sauce already on it. I like some spice, bit the heat level was too much. Obliterated the flavors. The crema cooked it a bit bit heat level ruined the dish. My son had a burger which was okay and garlic fries which were soggy and tasted strange. Would not recommend or go there to eat again.
Waiting 20 minutes for a beer and never offered another.... nope.
Sat on the patio-fun area right in the middle of town
Enjoyed the evening very much. Waiter was friendly, but a little slow.
Our server was great...but the food...not so much. The beer was mediocre for an IPA. Tacos were dry. Wouldn't recommend.
Location and outdoor seating are the best things about this place.
I had high expectations and was disappointed. Our server was very nice but delivery of drink order took longer than what should be expected. I expected a gourmet burger but wasn't impressed with the patty (overground beef?) or that everything slid off the bun. Garlic fries were swimming in a pool of oil. Just wasn't impressed.
The reservation process worked very smoothly. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was not friendly, not interested in making our dining experience very pleasurable and didn't check on us very often. That part of the experience was so-so. The ambience was pretty standard. Nothing to write home about. The food we ordered was very good. Overall the experience was good (because of the food), but not great. We might give this restaurant another try down the road, since this was our first experience.
Server was bad. Food was ok, what you might expect from a chain
Our waiter was fabulous, all of our food was awesome. My husband didn't care for the chicken schnitzel stating he was way too lemony. We miss more German items on your menu, the way it used to be. The food has become standard bar food that you can get anywhere. We really liked it when you served more German fair.
good location, great service and a nice variety of food
Service was spotty. I made a reservation online, they didn't have a record of
it. Got seated at once anyway.
Wonderful evening with my husband after a long work week! Just what the dr ordered!😍
Good Cajun pasta. Great beers on tap!
First time experience and would highly recommend
Food was great and the service was excellent
Bar tenders gave samples of beer before making a choice
Recommend the steak with mushroom sauce!
We enjoy this eatery very much. The food never dissapoints. The food is inovative and very tastey. I love the dark beer and wine selection. The sweet potatoe frys are the best we've had anywhere. There is parking close by and even if you use light rail the walk is short. It is quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
We ordered a salad that came with romaine lettuce which had been recalled, so iceberg was substituted. Our friend had the steak salad that came with spinach salad. I said “It would have been better to give us the option of iceberg lettuce vs spinach salad rather than just give us the iceberg lettuce. It truly distracted from the salad and there were no tomatoes etc on it. Just some pear pieces and a nice dressing. We were disappointed, but very hungry! We ate it all!
Service was a little rough but food and drinks were great! Manager did a great job of handling the service flaws! Great for beer and drinks
Wonderful experience. Great food selection and service and the beer was awesome!
We went to Gordon Biersch years ago and now i remember why we haven't been back. We went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy. The food was ok. The fish and chips were the best and I would give them 5 stars. My other son had a burger and it was blah. I love sausage, so I got the trio and they all tasted the same and were very dry with little flavor. There was a mayo based dipping sauce that was good. My wife got the Salmon and it was also very dry. Surprisingly, the Kale/Quinoa was better than I anticipated. Overall, when pay $130.00 to go out to eat, this was not very satisfying. There are many other options.
Friday evening quick meal after arriving in Tempe. On the second floor at a busy intersection, outdoor tables have a view of street scene.
Indoor table for two, very quiet at 6:30 pm. Good IPA's, OK sirloin steaks with fries and sides. Andrew was our waiter, nice guy and friendly. Table needed to be wiped and he didn't have answers to our questions about beer.
Overall OK but not exciting.
Jenna is the best bartender / server. She is super friendly and remembers everything!
You could visibly see a drink was spilled on the table and had dried to the table and to the ground underneath it. The table was so sticky my menu was stuck to it and my shoes were so stuck to the ground I had to pull my leg off the ground with force and smacked my knee on the table leaving a pretty big bruise.
Incredibly noisy. Had to eat outside where the temp was 100 degrees.
The food was delicious and the server we had, I wish I remembered her name, was the sweetest. Once I go again, I'm making sure her manager gives her a raise.
Great place to try when you don’t know where to go. Excellent food!
this was the second time I been this particular GB, the service was okay, there on a wed evening, no one to greet me. The server was good though. the food was good, but as they have soup on the menu, they apparently didn't make any to serve. Poor for a Chain restaurant .
We invited our friends to join us because of our previous excellent service and meals with a Gordon Biersch in Washington DC. Can't say the same for the one in Tempe.
1. Asked for more chips, waited and waited and then two orders showed up.
2. Half of our order came and the other half came 5 minutes later.
3. Ordered steak medium rare, came well done. Did not want to wait for another to be prepared as the other half of our meals were almost finished. Green beans were not cooked enough.
4, Shrimp and Lobster Mac'n Cheese, bow tie pasta? Hardly any cheese and very small bites of the shrimp and lobster.
5. Asked for more Parmesan cheese, waited 5 minutes for it to be brought.
6. We had to have the waitress re-run our bill as she left out the 10% discount we were eligible for.
Tried repeatedly to her get attention while she was serving the table right next to us and she conveniently turned away from our table and left. We know that this location is right in the heart of ASU and they most likely aren't crazy about serving older clients at such an early time. I think they made their point! We won't be back.
Overall the experience was good.
The bread on the burger sliders was a bit dry but the meat was pretty good.
We arrived early. We informed the hostess we had a reservation. We were able to be seated right away. The hostess never checked us in based on the Open Table reservation. We received an email from Open Table later that night that we had no-showed. Once seated the hostess (apparently) never informed the wait staff. My wife suggested we leave but I was hungry and did not want to leave to drive to another restaurant. After about 10 to 12 minutes, I got up from the table to ask the bartender to send someone over for service. Once the waiter come over we apologized for being late. He brought our waters, he had to leave again to get his order pad before being able to take our orders. The food was good. The Cajun pasta was kind of funny because the chicken and sausage was hot like it had just been cooked but the pasta was not even warm. The waiter did not return for a while so we asked another waitress for a to-go box. We paid with gift cards. We just chalked it up getting a free meal. I had the thought the staff knew they had made a mistake but had no way to recover. Once I got up from the table to request service, they just passed us off as a lost cause. They just didn't even try to do a good job or care about the customer.
Great casual place to meet up with friends. Great location and close to the light rail.
Service wasn't very good. We sat outside and the mists were set way too high
It was my graduation and the whole day was amazing except our dinner. Service was poor at best. My daughter’s food came out 10mins after our meal. The only good thing the blue crab artichoke dip.
Had an awesome server, I wish I'd kept the receipt so I could give you her name, long pink hair with glasses... Hostess was very nice as well.
I hadn't been there in YEARS but the food was as good as I remembered. Crab/spinach/artichoke dip was delicious. I had the bruschetta chicken w pasta, my friend had the blue cheese burger. We both enjoyed our meals. Would definitely go back.
