We had a party of eight, in town for an award ceremony the next morning. The menu has a great deal of variety. We had an excellent meal with excellent service. The restaurant also has an impressive beer menu and great deserts. I would live to see a Gordon Biersh restaurant in Cleveland!
We went there for a book club meeting. The Hostess was very friendly and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure my group was comfortable . I appreciated her thoughtfulness and anticipating our needs. She deserves five stars.
Our waitress was very nice but the food took just a little tong to come.
I made a reservation through Open Table, but when I called the restaurant the day of, they told me they don't reserve seating on game day. That doesn't bother me as a general policy but why allow me to make the reservation. We ended up getting a table but mostly because half of our party ended up canceling at the last minute. It was very hot inside to the point of being a bit uncomfortable. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but for the money I spent it should have been a lot better.
Working with the Hosts is always pleasurable. This is the second time I have hosted a business luncheon. We always get the front window seats which is semi private. Service has been excellent. The waitresses on both occasions were exceptional.
This is the best Gordon Biersch in DC. Since there's only two, this just means that it's better than Chinatown, and by a very healthy margin. Well the restaurant seems a little smaller, the booths are a lot nicer and more intimate, the servers are friendlier in better trained, and most important of all there is a far far better beer selection. While the Brewer at the Chinatown location is extremely conservative, and they never have very many options, during my visit to the Navy Yard location I was able to sample seven different styles of beer very easily, and they were all good
Amazing atmosphere. Will be back!
Food was good and servers were very accommodating.
Hamburgers were good but service was very poor. Server tried to take our order twice. When we wanted to leave, waited and waited. No one came to clear plates or see if we wanted anything else. I finally went to the hostess to ask for our bill. Not likely we will return.
Our party of 4 was very disappointed by the food service. Steaks were undercooked to the point that a medium-rare ribeye was served mostly raw. I despise leaving poor reviews, however I cannot recommend anyone visiting this location until reviews indicate a better level of food service..
Very nice. Service was fast and the food was delicious. Manager gave us free dessert.
We used to come to GB all the time when we moved to the Navy Yard Area. Unfortunately, the quality of both the service and the food keep getting worse, and we pretty much stopped coming. We received a couple of gift cards and decided to give it a try again - we were very surprised and pleased at the improvements. The food was great and our server (G??) was awesome. We will continue to come now that things have improved;.
Really enjoyed the meal. Huge portions. Great friendly service.
We made reservations for a Wed evening at 6:45. We arrived a little early and were told it would take about 5 min for our table. At 7:00 we still hadn't been seated. There were a couple of open 2 persons tables but also a group gathering in the middle. We were never told if those tables were for that group. No one ever spoke to us after we checked in for our reservation until we tpld them to cancel our reservation. The young lady handling reservations was very nice and offered to get the manager but we left and walked a block to buffalo wild wings and were seated immediately. Won't be back. Tried this place the last time I stayed at Homewood suites for a to go order and also was unsuccessful.
Server was very distracted. Very nice, but very distracted. Out of some of the items we ordered. I had to ask about my salad. I was pretty obvious it had been sitting in the back for some time when they brought it out.
2nd visit on a holiday Monday. Beer battered fish and chips were disappointing. Kobe burger not as appealing as the 1st visit, but still delicious. Rib eye steak cooked as ordered, perfect medium rare. Infinite fries only applies to sandwiches, but dinners did come with 2 sides.
Kobe cheeseburger absolutely wonderful. Lobster shrimp tacos very tasty. Bratwurst sliders just the right size and very tasty. Very nice 1st visit experience. Rewards card incentive to return as well as the good food and service.
So right through the door, the hostess was attentive and delightful. We get to our table and our waitress was just a peach. The food was amazing and didn’t take long to prepare (You have to try the mussels). The sampling of beers is a must if you want to try more than one. Definitely going back.
Restaurant was slow; seemed to be short-staffed; food wasn't as good as normal. I think the regular cook was out.
Early evening wasn’t crowded, which was good. Good comfort food. Good place to meet up with friends and colleagues.
The heat was not working when we arrived for our reservation and they sat us near a window. My friend didn't mind it but I did. We had to dine with our coats on. Even the waitstaff worked in their coats. This soiled my experience. I have visited other Gordon B. locations and will continue to patronize them. However, please either fix the heat or offer complimentary tea and coffee; we are approaching winter!
Overall ok - service was personal and courteous but not very attentive- food was of slightly above average quality so value was pretty good . A good spot for younger crowd with the live music and atmosphere.
Went on a Tuesday night and there was a very large party occupying two tables. After about 40 minutes we inquired about the status of our order. We were told that our food would be ready after they finished cooking for and serving the two large tables. So it took almost an hour to get our food. The food itself was nothing special.
I recently dined at Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - Navy Yard and could not have been happier with the service and food. The server provided exceptional assistance, in that she was attentive, witty, personable, and accurately recorded my requests. I’ve never had better service while dining at any Gordon Biersch location. The food was definitely on point for the first time ever, and the kitchen staff gave me exactly what I wanted with great flavor. I was truly happy to have dined out.
Thank you to Kiera for outstanding rapport and customer service on every occasion that we have been seated in her area!
Extremely Loud, my husband and I could not hear each other speak across the table. Very crowded, the tables are much too close together.
Our waitress was as helpful and gracious as she could possibly be! I think her name was Myrtle and she was fantastic!! She recommended several dishes and they were spot on.
We went right before a Nationals game and it was busy. The service was very slow, and the food was good. A bit pricey, but it was a good spot to eat right before the game.
Menu has lots of great choices. The air wasn't working when we arrived but still not unbearable. Outdoor seating and near Navy Yard metro stop (1 block).
Our waitress (unfortunately I do not remember her name) was outstanding - knowledgeable, helpful and with a great sense of humor
Went to GB for dinner before a baseball game. Fist, the A/C apparently had been out for days, and it was like a sauna. Second, the staff seemed unaware that there was a ballgame and, hence, that they would be inundated with customers. It took an hour to be served. Apologies from the waitress and manager did little to rectify the problem.
Unbearably hot in the restaurant. Slow service. Food was just average. Credit card payment screwed up.
The night we were at GB it was hot and noisy. The server or the kitchen mixed up our orders, and our friend did not get his sweet potato fries till after he had finished his salmon.
Great experience before a Nats game. Food was fantastic, beer was good and cold, and service by DeAngelo was outstanding. We'll be back for sure.
Close to the ballpark to grab a bite before a game and get a decent adult beverage.
Great Sunday morning brunch before the game. Staff was very attentive and the food was perfect.
Great beer. There were two problems with the food upon arrival, but the server made good on it. Online reservations worked extremely well,
Temperature in restaurant was so hot that even the waitress was complaining about it. Service was slow. After our drink order was placed it took about 25 minutes for her to come back and take our food order. Food was good, but not worth the wait.
Great service, bar area is really nice. They have a good happy hour selection.
Everyone in the party enjoyed their meal and beer!! Great spot to go for lunch!! Overall great dining!!
