Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - Glendale
We went there for Mothers Day dinner and had a very good experience. The only issue we had was our appetizer was delivered late after we received our salads and only after we asked about it
The food , service and atmosphere were great. However, the restrooms and facility need an in depth cleaning and updating.
The food was great but it was super slow and no people there.
my sandwich was good but not what I ordered. I ordered a chicken blt with crispy onions and fresh avocado. I got a chicken sandwich with no bacon or avocado but onion rings, which I really don't care for. I was picturing crispy onions as being maybe fresh red onions especially on a blt with other fresh vegetables. when I told the waitress, I was brought out 2 pieces of bacon for the other half of my sandwich but still no fresh avocado. and I was still charged for the sandwich witch I didn't get.
Great food and drinks! Server was very attentive and provided great recommendations! Favorite thing was the garlic fries!!!
Overall good experience. Food is tasty and service was friendly. The bar was more crowded than the dining room so drinks took a while. My dad really liked his steak!
The food was decent. The service was very good. It was a nice evening out with a friend.
Food was fantastic, place was very clean and classy, wait staff was really trying hard. Just seemed like they were understaffed
Everything was good except the server disappeared after food was delivered and they wouldn’t take the coupon I got in the mail 3 days earlier.
After going to a restaurant every Friday for the 5 during Lent. We chose this one last. It was by far the best tasting and the most generous portion. We were very satisfied. Our server was Panda and he is relatively new there and was awesome. He took very good care of us. We will definitely be returning.
I was disappointed with my experience. Our server was not knowledgeable with the menu at all. He was not interested in upselling or offering anything. The food came very bland. No attention to details whatsoever. Nothing good about the restaurant at all. Except we did get a seat as expected. (Should have been the first hint of what was to come.)
The Garlic Fries are very good. The dinner salad was also good. Ahi Tuna came out medium well after rare was requested. Asian Chicken bites were overcooked hard and tough with a spicy gooey sauce on them. Ahi was redone to go and although cooked properly it was a little tough. It took an extended time to get our initial meal. Did not ask for or receive any comp.
We enjoyed our meal prior to a special event. Service was prompt and our server was friendly and helpful. Three of the four of us enjoyed our meals but the steak on one meal was tough. Nevertheless, a good place to go.
Disappointed in the limited menu due to the hockey game, had my heart set on the steak salad, but there were no exceptions. I understand the logic of why you would limit the menu during high traffic events...but it really didn’t seem to expedite the food or drinks. More harm than good.
The service was terrible, food served at different times to our group, waitress did not seem to care or want to be there at work, and too noisy and overpriced. Will not return here again.
Did not feel the restaurant was very busy and took long time to receive appetizers. Cajun pasta was extremely salty.
Very dissappointed. Checked menus before making reservations, and secured seats at the West Gate location prior to a concert. Well, the site does not mention that on the night of a concert, they serve an extremelely abbreviated menu made up of mostly burgers and fried food. Not good when your dining guest is a vegan. Upon request they would not even make a slad or serve a side of vegetables since none were on the short menu. The only close to vegan side was a cider slaw, but that still had mayonnaise. Frustrating to say the least. Sad when you dining partner says we should have just gone to Ruby Tuesdays.
The food was less than mediocre & our server did not seem to care that we were unsatisfied. The service was poor - took 20 minutes to get every drink we ordered.
Well....they redeemed themselves from our last pre concert dining experience. Server was on point, and food was quite good. My husband tells me the beer was quite good as well. Glad I went back rather than following my gut and just standing in line at Which Wich with 30,000 other concert attendees.
This was a great pre-concert dining option. We did book the reservation for 3 hours before concert time and were very glad we did. Restaurant filled up closer to concert. Had a nice relaxing dinner. The calamari appetizer was exceptional as were the BBQ Cheeseburgers and fries. Will be back before events at Gila River arena and State Farm stadium.
Generally we can expect to get a better than average quality food at a Brew Grill but I was a bid disappointed in the food quality here. We ordered a California Chicken Sandwich and Salt & Pepper French Fries. The chicken on the sandwich did not taste like it was cooked fresh. It had the consistency of a piece of chicken resting for a good part of the day just waiting for someone to come in and order. The Salt & Pepper fries had no salt & pepper. Unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. Maybe we should have ordered something else. Our friends had sliders and the nachos. They looked great. We also did have the Southwest Egg roll and those were very good.
Stopped for dinner before an an event at The State Farm Stadium. We tried the $5 beer sampler and ordered pizza and wings. The service was prompt and professional and the food was good! Would stop there again.
We had a most enjoyable visit to Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Glendale. There were five in our party. We were there for dinner, prior to our Cirque du Soleil performance. We arrived at 5:30pm for our reservation, and without feeling rushed at all, we completed our meals, and had more than enough time to walk over to the coliseum tent for the 8pm performance.
My husband and I had visited about a week prior to check out the restaurant, and its proximity to our event, and we enjoyed our lunch. We were given a coupon for a free appetizer on our next visit. So, we were able to use it for dinner with our friends. Both visits were pleasurable, the food delicious, and the service very attentive. My husband had the Chicken Schnitzel which was so ample that we took more than half home and each had another meal. I had the Burger with their signature garlic fries, which were delicious. I don't recall our waiters name, but he was very courtous and helpful.
On this visit, our waiter Johnathan, was wonderful. He took time to describe various dishes to us, and had all of our mouths watering! He chose fine beer selections for the beer flight. He was very agreeable to have the kitchen split the Chicken Schnitzel dinner for us - my husband said it was the best he's ever had. They also split a salad for our friends. And he was pleased to honor the appetizer coupon - we totally enjoyed the signature egg rolls.
Our friends were also very pleased with our choice of Gordon Biersch Restaurant. It will be one of our regular dining choices.
Waited a very long time for food and beverages. Need to work on event day service given the location. I have been here many other times not during events and have had no problems.
Understandably it was busy - it was before a concert....but they should have been prepared for the volume. Ot took an hour to get our food, two of us had plastic cups because they ran out of dishes, my husband's burger was room temperature, and the tarter sauce on the side of my fish and chips had congealed to a lovely translucent shade of yellow from it's lengthy time under the heat lamp.
We attended the night of a concert at the stadium. The server was stressed and clearly distracted upon taking our order. There were 3-4 rows of food in the kitchen waiting to be served. Some of the food was being covered to be kept cool. It was clear that they food was not getting taken out. 80 minutes after being sat, we were still waiting for our dinner. We eventually had to leave without having dinner.
Gordon Biersch can do better.
For a restaurant located next to special event facilities, you would think that it would be staffed to handle special events. Not so! Miserable service because the place was totally understaffed and poorly managed. On a beautiful evening, the outdoor area was not even opened. Not only is this bad for customers, the owners are losing lots of $!
Went here before the Garth concert and they were very welcoming! We had a reservation but showed up early and they sat us without a problem, and half our party was a half hour late from our original reservation time, and they had no issue with it. We never felt rushed by our server even though they had people in line. The food was very good, so were the drinks. Highly recommend!
delicious brews, apps, and dinners. salmon was delicious, wings and brats good too
My wife and I had reservations for 5 pm, so relatively early and the restaurant was hardly half full on a Sunday evening. We decided to sit in the bar area
The food was good and the beer was fantastic. You got to try the beer flight.
Thank goodness I made a reservation! We showed up 30 minutes early because we got hungry earlier than expected, but because of Spring Training, the Coyotes game, and whatever else drew people to Glendale, the wait was going to be an hour to an hour and a half. However, we were seated only 3 minutes after my reserved time, so I can't really complain. Service was a bit slow, but that was understandable with the crowd size. Food was still served hot, and the beers were cold and refreshing. I highly recommend the brat sliders - they were AMAZING! All in all, it was enjoyable. I would certainly go back, but I'll definitely check the goings-on in the area first.
We were seated 35 minutes late for our reservation. We explained we were going to the Coyotes game and were in a bit of a hurry now. We ordered drinks and dinner immediately. Long story short, I had to confront the manager 40 minutes after our food order and said we needed to leave. Our food was delivered a minute later. They discounted drinks and the kids meal that was sitting under the lights for several minutes. Food was good. Ambiance was good. Server was pleasant. But the overall service and experience was as poor as I've ever had in a restaurant -- enough to make me write this review. It's the first review I've ever written -- good or bad -- in the several years I've had Open Table. I'm not a complainer, but this one was just bad. I had to order a Lyft ride to get my elderly in-laws over to the stadium and we made the start of the game with about 30 seconds to spare.
poor service, ordered 12 oz beers and received 10 oz, extremely slow service-took forever to get our food and drink. will never go back
We had a wonderful waiter that made the experience great!
Always enjoy their food and new menu items. There were five in our party each ordered something different. All enjoyed their meals with very few leftovers.
delicious! our server was the sweetest! i wish i remembered her name.
We got there at 5:25 for a 5:30 reservation. The restaurant was basically empty at this point. We first got seated outside in seats that had cushions that were the most disgusting cushions we have ever seen. We then went back in as it was way too dirty, then proceeded to not be seated till 5:45. We were trying to get to a 7pm movie. Then we ended up ordering immediately when we sat down, as we knew we were in a rush. Ordered 2 appetizers for a table of 4 and then meals on top of that. Needless to say, we received the appetizers and the meals at 6:50pm (keep in mind we were already there for over 1 hour at this point at the table). Unfortunately we couldn't even finish 1/2 of our meal, as we had no time... then also the little food we did eat was the worst tasting food we have ever had.
Note to anyone going to this restaurant:
Don't order the egg rolls (southwest or something). Don't order the cheese curds. Both were terrible. Just greasy with no flavor. Our meals were gross.
One of us ordered Fish & Chips.
One of us ordered a Burger.
One of us ordered a Salad.
All three of them were not happy.
Food was waiting in the window for at least 15-20 minutes and not taken out.
The beer was terrible too (granted we only had 1).
I honestly wish we would have just gotten a full refund and not touched our food, however we were in such a rush we just let our food be thrown out and couldn't even ask a manager for a refund because we were leaving the restaurant right after our movie we had already paid for ahead of time had started.
(I will say, our waitress (I forget her name) was unbelievably pleasant and extremely friendly).
Reservations mean nothing. Had a reservation and arrived early to be told it would be a 30 minute wait, but the restaurant was half empty. Was then told that they did not have enough servers. Once seated, the food and table service was good, but the initial experience of waiting for a table with a half empty restaurant left a bad taste in our mouth.
Although we had a reservation and tables were empty we waited 15 minutes to be seated. The special advertised in an email I received from the restaurant was not available. It took over 30 minutes for the food we ordered(fish and chips & chicken schnitzel) was dry and tasteless.
Likely will not go again
