Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - Columbus
Food came out lukewarm and had to send the chicken pasta back because there was no Chicken. They brought out a second dish still with no chicken.
Stopped in before a hockey game and so glad we chose this over the other restaurants in the arena district. Our server was so attentive and welcoming! We WILL be back!
GORDON Biersch is always a convenient option for when we go to hockey games. It’s consistent and has great beers!
Gotta love the steaks! Right there next to Nationwide Arena so perfect before those Blue Jackets games!
There was a group of 6 for dinner on a Monday evening. The food was delicious, however our service was less than desirable. The server never stopped to ask if we needed anything, just asked as she was walking by. We had to ask for refills and the bar service took a long time. The seating seemed crammed as well as we had to push our table all the way back to the windows and even sit side saddle on the seats in order to not have the individuals in the aisle get bumped by everyone walking by. I would like to go back and hope that it was just an off night for the service because there was an event at the Arena.
Tolerating the way-too loud Pens fans was worth it after the Jackets win. #CBJ
Although the menu was limited (I'm assuming because of the high traffic from the Blue Jackets game) our food was delicious. Mine (club flat bread) was a tiny bit on the salty side but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. My sister loved the Cajun pasta. Beer and drinks were great. Great atmosphere. Our server was ON IT. HUGE applause to her because it was super busy in there.
You have to expand the menu. It’s pretty boring for those of us who visit you often. Get it that an expanded menu will impact the kitchen.
The food was pretty great—good beer selection with great prices. Our service experience was not commendable—though there appeared to be a large engagement party happening in their private room, which we assumed slowed down the staff, bar, and kitchen considerably—though one would think additional staff would have been scheduled in anticipation of this event.
Will try again for sure—the pizza was delicious!
This was the second time we have dined here. Each time the service has been terrible. Will not be returning.
Outstanding beer. Very fresh and a nice selection. Enjoyed the doppelbock, hefeweisen, and the export lager. Service was ok . Need to improve timing. Appetizer arrived at same time as salads. Entree arrived shortly afterwards so we had all of our food at once. We have enjoyed the fries in the past but this time they were served differently. Came in a small cast iron skillet instead of stacked on a plate like before. Caused them to be slightly soggy not crisp as before. Ketchup was just a squeeze bottle brought to table. Before it was served in a small metal cup, Would prefer the old way, much classier for something that is supposedly" Legendary" Food was ok and the server was polite. Would return just for the beer.
Marzen wings are awesome.
Our waiter, named Greg, was by far the best server we have ever had at this restaurant. The food has always been good, but his service was great. A+++++
A Lot Better Than My Last Review! Food was delicious, (had the 3 sliders as I was not that hungry.) Very good. The waitress was fast and very friendly, even though it was a concert night and they were slammed. We WILL go back again, in fact I have already placed my next reservation for a hockey game night.
I had eaten at other Gordon Biersch locations, and had a good experience. Not so much at this one. The menu seemed a lot smaller than at other locations, and while my soup was above average, my caesar salad was very disappointing. And my friend was brought out the wrong salad all together. We ordered two different wine portions and each looked exactly the same when they were brought to our table. Our server was friendly at least. We felt a regular cold breeze whenever the main door entrance was open - not really ideal.
Great food, friendly helpful wait staff- thank you for taking reservations on a concert night!!!
I had looked up the menu to pick out what I wanted ahead of time. I was expecting them to be busy since it was before a concert at Nationwide. However, they had a special menu that night, and none of them were on it. I was able to find something & they accommodated my special requests. Server was pleasant. I do not drink, but I'm guessing they have some good selections in that area. Restaurant was clean.
Came here for a birthday date before a show over at the Lincoln Theater. Since there was nothing going on at Nationwide Arena, the restaurant was quieter than normal.
Crab and artichoke dip made an excellent starter, and I continued the seafood theme with shrimp-and-lobster mac-n-cheese. My date enjoyed a perfectly cooked ribeye.
The beer was awesome and I had a chance to sample different beers with the help of our sever, Samuel.
The food is amazing but before Blue Jacket's games even with reservations they don't seem to be able to keep them straight.
We stopped at Gordon Biersch prior to attending Crystal at Nationwide. Our reservation was 3:15. When we arrived, I advised the young lady we had a reservation and she checked the computer and confirmed it. There were approximately 4 tables occupied in the restaurant and a couple people at the bar. Sara was our server and was friendly enough but service was terrible. We ordered a beer flight which was the only good thing about our experience. We ordered Ahi Tuna Nachos. Sara came back and informed us they were out. Out of tuna and out of shrimp. We got calamari and California beach tacos. We waited for half an hour. The table next to us got their lunch, a large salad and pizza...and they arrived 20 minutes after us. I was looking for Sara when a dude finally brought us our calamari. I asked about the tacos. He said he's check. Finally we got our food...after 4:00. Calamari was okay but scarce. The topping on the tacos was supposed to be pico de gallo, cilantro, cabbage, Mexican crema. There was almost nothing on the tacos. The calamari was on a bed of cabbage and yet the tacos, which were supposed to have cabbage, had none. Almost no flavor and almost no food for over $20. The kid's meal at the table across from us had more food. We were still hungry but, as long as the little we got took to came out, we couldn't wait for more food and cashed out. To add insult to injury, the restaurant reported to Open Table that we didn't show up even though I watched the girl mark our reservation on her computer. Great beer but not great enough to get us to return to Gordon Biersch.
The burgers and garlic fries were fantastic. The fish taco seemed a little small for the price Unfortunately one person in our group had both of the things she ordered the server later came and said weren’t available so she was disappointed in her meal It was a great place to meet up before a show at Natiinwide
I don’t think our server actually checked us in using Open Table. Our points have yet to show. In addition, she placed us at a table close to the door. The restaurant was near empty and we were seated at a location that allowed blasts of cold air with every open of the door. My sister-in-law opted to wear her coat the entire time.
It took several minutes for our server to arrive for our drink orders and about 20 minutes for her to take our food orders. We were seated right away at 11:30 am, placed our orders close to 12 pm, and our food arrived close to 12:30 pm. She not once checked on us, which prevented three of us from ordering drinks beyond water, even though I told her we’d be placing drink orders right before our meals arrived. We seemed to be an inconvenience to her. One of us asked for a box when the checks were presented. She had to ask three times and never received the box. We had to finally leave because our show was about to begin.
The southwest egg rolls were surprisingly large and very good. The jalapeño ranch dressing was nice. We did not care for the nachos. The chips were light but incredibly oily. There was barely any topping and the fondue cheese was not pleasant on nachos. It separated giving it a chunky texture and not much flavor. We would have loved to pair our food with drinks....
We won’t be returning. Half Pint is around the corner with much better service.
First time at this restaurant, before a show. Even though what we wanted wasn't on the "show" menu our server arranged for us to get it. Food was delicious! Service was excellent!
This was a most unusual experience - we have eaten here several times in the past, with excellent service and good food. Our waitress was very poor and uninformed about the current menu. She did not know what was in the Gumbo (told we did not eat pork, but there was sausage). I ordered a salad, which did not get served until our entree was brought - and I had to mention about the salad! My wife returned the gumbo and ordered just a chopped salad (which then came with chicken) - very tasteless and poor quality. We had to discuss this with the manager, who only apologized and deleted the chopped salad from our bill (should have comped the entire meal, given the poor service). This was a weeknight, before a show at Nationwide Arena - not at all busy, and inexcusable in my book. Maybe need to go when they are busy to get good service.
The food was great, but our waitress Michaela made the evening. She was very knowledgeable about all of the selections and the wide variety of beer selections.
The food was just ok. Typical bar food but nothing stood out. Beers were good.
Went before a Jackets game and had no difficulty getting right to our table. Limited menu due to game. Server was very nice but food was wrong and salad did not seem fresh.
I would recommend this restaurant for its beer. The restaurant has changed a lot since we used to dine there a few years back. We quit going there during hockey season because honestly, the food was not that good. Currently we have been frequenting another local restaurant before hockey games and now they too have changed their menus and prices. So we thought we would give GB another chance. This time I felt that the food was even more bland and boring than before. Now I WISH they had their same menu back! Will I go there again? Maybe for the beer and appetizers but not for a family gathering before a game again. Sorry guys.
Great food at a reasonable price! Service was top notch!
Always a great destination before a Jackets game. Make a reservation thru Open Table and enjoy.
Disappointed in the limited menu choices on an “event night”
Waited almost an hour for a party of four to get our food. No silverware. 45 minutes after we ordered we were told there were several large parties ahead of us waiting on their food. Drinks were good. Food was luke warm. No apologies. Acted like this was a normal occurrence.
Made our reservation 10 days in advance. First we had to wait so the hostess could “speak to her manager”. Then we were seated at a huge table (there were only three of us) right by the door. It was cold and rainy that night 😡 inexcusable
We have had a number of good experiences at Gordon Biersch, but will not go back on any holidays. I appreciate that they were open and taking reservations for New Year's Eve, however we encountered a number of issues. The primary one was that there was no one assigned to wait on us, we sat for almost 15 minutes before we were informed of the fact and then were lucky enough to have the wait person we asked to check for us to volunteer to assist us since no one else was going to. In addition a "sp ecial" event menu was in place that offered only some of the normal items. Even with that in place it took an extremely long time to get our food. Luckily we had planned enough time to get to the hockey game, however it was a close call and made for a less than pleasant dining experience.
Went New Year’s Eve before hockey game. Great service. Wings were excellent. Cajun pasta great! Sliders delicious! Wonderful time!
It is convenient before an event at Nationwide arena, however the full menu is not available. Our server was slow...my fiancé had an upset stomach afterwards. Food was OK, brat sliders were good. No refills, had to ask for the check, wait staff did not check back with us and brought the incorrect beer tasters. Price was high for what we ordered. Not really interested in going back with so many other choices.
Open table reservation worked great! Very busy before a Blue Jackets hockey game and with our reservation we were seated right away. Very convenient location. Friendly, attentive service. We were not rushed even though it was busy. Variety of beer choices, offered tastes for whatever we wanted to try, our meals (burger & chicken pear salad) were delicious. Atmosphere was noisy but not overly so. We really enjoyed our time and highly recommend!
Server couldn’t have been less interested in our two top table. I felt like we were bothering her. Not a good server experience. Great food. Tacos had a very small portion of chicken for $15
Our waitress tried very hard, but the entire wait staff was getting yelled and screamed at by some kitchen guy. I think she was nervous so she messed up and again he was screaming. My daughter and I were laughing but we felt sorry for the staff. Time to check out some other downtown restaurants.
