About
Simply excellent as usual
Gordon Biersch was all around ok. The food was solid, but nothing special. The appetizers were a little redundant with the rest of the menu. The beer was above average for ten years ago, but was middle-of-the-road by current standards. Nothing I'd come back to have again specifically. The service was mostly ok, but slow—especially considering the place was half empty on a Saturday at 7pm.
The one great selling point is the outdoor seating and the (relatively) low prices for the neighborhood. I'd consider coming back after a movie at the Landmark or if I find myself in Harbor East and don't want to spring for Chingale.
The food was good but it was a bit expensive for what it was. I also expected it to crowded considering it was restaurant week but that place was nearly empty. The server was the only one working and still had about 7 tables so service was a little on the slower side.
Great place for a burger or fancier food. Everything was delicious.
Joy, our server/waitress provided excellent service. Our beverages were enjoyable as was the food.
Overall good dining experience. I JUST MISS THE MUSSELS ON THE MENU!
Absolutely amazing experience. Would definitely recommend 🙂
Great spot to eat lunch before my family & I headed to the National Aquarium!! Better food than eating at the aquarium for sure!!!
We went with 4 people. Server was good. All 4 meals came out over cooked and cold. 2 of us complained and got food remade. We didn’t have to pay for those. It was disappointing.
The food was adequate—very chain-restaurant worthy, but nothing special. My shrimp tacos had tiny shrimp and the clear taste/scent of bagged cabbage. Our server was very friendly and sweet, but didn’t seem familiar with the menu. Additionally, we very nearly had to hunt her down to get our check. Waited 10 minutes after we were clearly finished. Frustrating when you are on a schedule. My partner liked the Summerbrau beer very much.
I and my husband had a nice time Will deathly be back again.Atmospheres really nice customer service is outstanding the food is excellent I would definitely recommend this to someone else.
Service was slow. We were a table of 8 and food came out at all different times. They forgot one of the meals we ordered and one of us had to wait. I asked for dressing on the side and it came with dressing all over salad. We come to this restaurant bc the kids like it and not for any other reason.
We had Milan and she did as best she could so kudos to her for our large party of 20 or so. Had a reservation and ordered apps ahead. Extra servers to bring food, clear empty plates/glasses. When placed food order it arrived and she brought with sometimes one other person or just her bringing entrees. Manager around & could have helped cart food/drinks, clear table, or anything vs leave her hanging alone.
Luckily there was an empty table by us that we stacked & stacked with dishes and glasses.
Nice to find a local area brew pub focusing on German-style beers and doing a good job of it. They graded out above average across-the-board. Some in this chain are excellent and others not-so. We will return. Food was tasty, premises were clean, and we were seated in a less noisy section of the pub.
If you need a quick bite to eat, nothing fancy, this is the place.
Great patio seating. Service was slow, but the food and drinks were very good. Moved inside later to watch the game on TV. Very nice venue.
We had a large party and they were accommodating. Good food and great location.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, everything was mediocre, food, ambiance, service and drinks were poor, had to send back drinks because we received completely wrong drinks four times
We had a large group for dinner and everything was ready when we showed up. They did a great job of handling the group. Everyone enjoyed the food and a good time was had by all
They have food and drinks it’s also a good atmosphere I love it there
Dined here because I got a $10 off coupon. Service was prompt and polite. Room was not quite full, but noise level was bearable. Beer and wine choices were fine. Food was OK, but nothing special. In summary, place feels like a chain restaurant with average offerings. Nothing bad, but I would not go out of my way to seek it out. Safe choice, but not memorable.
I ordered the RBI DUBBEL and the GRILLED STEAK SALAD. Each exceeded my hopes and expectations.
We visited here last fall and had one of the best meals we ever had, so we were glad to see our choices were still on the menu. It was not the same! Very disappointed. My wife had the Chicken Schnitzel with lemon and capers and it was so soaked in lemon, it was sour to eat. It only had about 4 capers on it. My ribeye with gorgonzola butter was so fatty, I almost couldn't eat it.\either. ( I am sure in the fall this was either a filet or sirloin - a much better choice). My martini I ordered tasted like water and I sent it back. We were told the bartender was in training. Anyway, hugely disappointed. We would probably not go back again.
Arrived to be seated outdoors quickly. The hostess left the menus and told us we were there just in time for happy hour. Unfortunately if we did not stop a waiter we would be sitting there longer than the 15 minutes we did. Finally Matthew came by and offered drinks but stated it was not happy hour and said we shouldn’t have gotten the happy hour menu I ordered B-more Brew and he returned with my wife's iced tea and said they were pouring it. Ten minutes later he said they just poured the last one and the keg was out i made another choice. The appetizer was served without plates to eat on so I went to the bar to get them. The calamari was barely warm and was tough to chew. The waiter was of course nowhere to be seen. He served the "Wagyu" burgers, they looked like small frozen patties and they were not medium rare - medium at best. My wife, eschewing carbs, asked for no bread but lettuce and got one thin piece of lettuce hidden under the greasy mess. We finished our entrees and the waiter Matthew came by to slap the check down (I guess they don't serve dessert). I had read the reviews about bad service and good food - bad service definitely / good food NOT! Can't give a zero so they get that walk of shame ONE! DON'T EAT HERE!
We’ve been going to Gordon Biersch for 5 years. The food had been consistent however the last three visits the service has been non attentive. After being seated, it has taken 20 minutes for anyone to recognize that we’re waiting. This can make your dining experience very frustrating. If we had not have brought guests with us, we would have left.
Poor service is a killer for restaurants.
Nice place in a good location.
Had 2 beers which were excellent.
Food, went for the short rib and mash., very good really tender and tasty, slight negative the sauce was too salty
Loved it! Everything was delicious! It was a very peaceful environment and I would definitely recommend it!
Late night meal great; service a title slow
But would recommend !!
My parents came to town and we wanted to celebrate me buying my first new car!
First time visiting this restaurant. It was a great place. The food was good, a great selection. Service was excellent with attentive waiter. Prices were great. I would recommend this place to anybody. Managed to book online. Beers locally made and full of body.
We came in with our kids, neither the woman who sat us offered us a high chair or the waiter, that was weird. The shrimp and mango tacos were terrible the tortilla was so dry on them you could barely bite it and there was no mango even on them maybe 2 tiny pieces out of 4 tacos. Kids meals were basic it was just kraft Mac n cheese. The fire alarms started going off because of all the smoke in the kitchen. Service was mediocre, they are very slow. The only thing good was the beer otherwise don’t eat here!!
Celebrating a 90th birthday party. Our group of 20 family members had a great time. Waiter was great. Food was good. Would recommend.
Simone was great and on top of everything when I dined. I ordered some sliders, calamari and some cocktails.
Just meeting a new friend for a meet and greet! Perfect setting not a lot of noise for good conversation.
Food was good, but the service was terrible.
Food was amazing, I hope it was a fluke but our waitress was horrible
Had a great dinner... the atmosphere was pleasant and we could actually have nice conversation without a lot of noise
Great atmosphere. Construction and parking sucked. Service was okay, interruptions could have been minimized. Food was good.
Gordon Biersch is always a good experience. The menu has many options and the food is plentiful. Service is usually very good, but this particular visit it was clear they were short staffed. That said, our waiter was very pleasant....which is a credit to him as he was the only wait person in the large section of the restaurant.
They did not read the notation that it was my husbands birthday. The lighting at our table was unreasonably bright (we opted not to take pics). It was singularly the brightest table in the room. They weren’t able to adjust it. The fries and woodford reserve steak was good. The other meals at our table of six was not memorable. Service was terrific.
Great beer selection and food was awesome. Staff was super friendly
