I took 8 of my key employees for lunch on Admin Appreciation day. The food was great and our waiter was very attentive.
Service was uncharacteristically under par. Main entree was served cold - probably because the server was not keeping up with his tables. The server never checked with us to see how the food was so I gave up and ate the cold swordfish. This has never happened to us at this establishment and I really an disappointed - still would recommend to others as this experience is not the norm.
Everyone enjoyed our entrees (party of 8), but we all agreed the desserts (we tried 2) were not very tasty. Ambiance pleasant, wait staff attentive. We'll be back...just not for dessert ;)
We wanted seafood and went to Goode because theirs is always GOOD!
Had the asparagus with crab as an appetizer, it is so good with their bread.
Shared a salad and had their special with grouper. We also ordered some of the
fried shrimp a la carte to add to our dinner. Everything was delicious.
We love Goode Company Seafood and come often, especially during oyster season. This was a special occasion; a cousin who we had not seen in several years was in town and had time for dinner. We think seafood is Houston's best foot forward for out-of-town company, and this visit was no exception. The oysters were very good, and the waiter understood the provenance of the varieties on hand, and explained it well. The food was all wonderful, as always, but what made this visit stand out was the service. Our waiter and the servers in our part of the room were attentive and instantly present when needed, but they didn't hover, and we didn't feel rushed at all when took a long time to order, and then lingered another hour after we had finished. It was a great evening. The cordial and engaging maitre 'd has every reason to be very proud of her team and her kitchen.
Two of us had fried seafood which was delicious, one had Crab Cakes which were outstanding and the 4th entrée was the blackened catfish and shrimp combo which was not very good. The mesquite flavor was overpowering. Service was great and we definitely plan to return.
We had 19 ladies there for lunch. It was great. Good service, good food. Very accommodating to our group. They set us up in a private room which made it extra nice for our group,
The oysters, crab cakes, fresh bread, hushpuppies drinks, and pie were good. The gumbo didn't have much seafood in it. The Campechana seemed not as fresh as it usually is so that was a disappointment.
Goode Company Seafood has been a family favorite for years. The food and service have always been very good.
Great restaurant. Friendly service, clean and nice surroundings with well appointed decor, and professional servers.
The food was as always top notch and fresh with a great selection. Very impressive.
Excellent fried shrimp. Service was outstanding. Raw oysters where a little too small but that’s thanks to hurricane Harvey. Was provided a few extra to make up for it. Great reservation and table using open table. Will do it again.
We were just returning from our trip to New Orleans where we sampled all the dishes that New Orleans is known for. After crossing the Louisiana/Texas border we started talking about what we wanted for dinner when we arrived in Houston. We decided on Goode Company Seafood, made a reservation and arrived for dinner. We both ordered Campechana and as usual, it was excellent. I enjoyed it more than anything I had eaten in New Orleans!!!!
Great stuffed crab !
There were multiple parties waiting for a table but with a reservation we did not wait and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and efficient and meals and desert were very good.
Very noisy at lunch time so it was difficult to have a conversation. As always reliable, delicious food.
Two of the seven of us ordered gumbo while both reported it contained "shells" that were numerous and very sharp to the touch. Both were returned for credit.
Overall, I don't think was a good value and do not plan to return. If this restaurant were in New Orleans, I doubt they'd be in business.
There was no wait and both the food and service were good. Special was very good.
Very good food
Arrived a few minutes late but were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Our drink and appetizer order was taken and hot garlic bread delivered so we could begin to enjoy our evening. We ordered our main course when our appetizer was delivered and proceeded to totally enjoy our evening meal!
Our service was poor. The server kept blaming the high schoolers in training for the errors. I ordered a salad and it didn't come. I reminded the server and she said "I saw them making it". Still no salad. The shrimp poboys came first and then the salad arrived. The server did comp the salad. My husband's poboy had 4 shrimp on a very large bun. Mine had 5 shrimp. We complained and they brought my husband 2 more shrimp. The poboys were not good. We were disappointed and felt we should have stayed and waited an hour at Pappadeaux. We won't be back.
Very nice meal. Most entrees are priced in the mid $20 range. Dishes were properly prepared and the seafood was fresh. Our server, Robert, was knowledgeable and quite attentive. Our party had fried shrimp, Mesquite grilled shrimp, grilled Redfish and shrimp etouffee. . All were excellent.
Our food was delicious (one salmon, one stuffed shrimp, one halibut special). Our waiter was a space cadet. Didn’t get orders right, forgot silverware, etc but he didn’t charge us for the side orders we had to wait on. The restaurant was crowded (Saturday night) and therefore noisy. I’ll be back but probably for lunch or a less crowded night. One good thing was that we had a reservation and were seated promptly.
The food was great and our waitress Maya was awesome! She made our celebration great for all!
We love Goode Co. Seafood so much! Everything we have tried there is so delicious and we always look forward to returning. The garlic bread is so yummy too and the service is always great. Will definitely be back soon!
Wonderful staff and food above excellent
Consistently reliable food and service. Quality of ingredients is very high.
Highly recommend the seafood tamales as a starter. Yum!
Interview with job candidate.
I was disappointed in that I made reservations online, yet I had to wait for my table when I got there 5 minutes early (at 6:25). The restaurant was not that busy, and there were plenty of tables available. We were celebrating our daughter's 16th birthday, and we put some confetti on the table, only to be told by our server that we weren't allowed to have confetti. We weren't throwing it - we were just using it as decor.
The server and food were excellent! She accommodated the cupcakes we brought, boxed up our food for us, etc.
I was just unimpressed the fact that nothing was ready when I got there.
Another great dinner. Good food, atmosphere and location - you can't miss.
Delicious - they never disappoint!! Mesquite grilled anything and the campachana extra - yummy!!
Our server, Elvis, was great! He made suggestions that allowed us to try something different - the fried flounder poboy was delicious! And I loved my grilled red fish. Oysters were great too!
Booked through open table. Was seated 15 minutes after our reservation time because it was extremely busy. Strike one before we ever sat down. The hostess seemed flustered and not well trained or capable to handle the volume and not only that but the guests complaints.
GUESTS WERE AT THE HOST STAND ATTEMPTING TO TELL MANAGEMENT AND HOSTESSES HOW TO SEAT TABLES. Other guests were also at the front complaining about the wait.
My server and the bar server/waitress were both excellent. The food was good as well. Took a little long to come out but looked like we got stuck behind a large party which is understandable.
All in all I enjoyed the food and service but am nervous if I make the drive from Katy will I have to wait 15 minutes or 30 minutes for my RESERVATION?!?!
The past 3 times we have been there we have been seated near large (10-12 people) parties who were very loud. Last time the people were also very drunk. This time they were actually shrieking at each other. The server could barely hear to take an order. Conversation with our dinner companions was impossible and we left early. Don’t think I want to come back anytime soon.
Food was excellent! Our server, Barbara was also wonderful! Food was a bit slow coming out because they were pretty busy, but she continued checking on us and updating us and everything was nice and hot and flavorful when it came to the table.
This is a great place for seafood. My Grandma loves oysters, and this is the place that we always go for oysters.
We had a great dinner. Table was ready when we arrived, service was great. Food was good.
We used to pass this place on our way to work and decided it was time to stop and have dinner for Valentines Day. We had a great time and will eat here again. Food was great and our waiter was so great. Elvis is his name and we were very impressed by him.
First time visit, arrived at the reservation time was promptly seated. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was great. The service was great as well as the quality of the food was well prepared and served at the correct temperature. The menu had a great variety of selections that should be appealing to all pallets. Plenty of parking well lighted, easy to access to location from I-10.
