Goode Co. Seafood - Katy Freeway
Restaurant does not absorb sound well and is a bit noisy...the other place just seemed cozier.
Sad that you took bacon-wrapped shrimp of appetizer menu.
Food and service always good though!
We've been dining at Goode Company Seafood's locations and have especially enjoyed the Memorial City location. This past Sunday was our first visit to the new store "across the parking lot". The location may be different but the service and quality are still there...miss the propeller, though.
The food was great and the atmosphere was vibrant.
It’s was great
Waiter was amazing. Food was delicious like always.
My husband and I enjoy our experience everytime we visit this establishment. The food is always fresh and the presentation is excellent. We will be back!
This was our first visit to the new Katy Freeway location which has much more the feel of a Gulf Coast seafood emporium (but with that comes a loud environment and lots of hustle and bustle - not a relaxing environment). Table for two was tightly packed with neighboring tables. Effort was needed to allow customers to enter and exit their seats without disturbing the neighboring table.
The popular Campechana de Mariscos seafood cocktail remains a highlight. Definitely start with it. Add some chopped up jalapeños. Mesquite grilled red snapper (no topping) was good. Flounder special had a nice topping but nothing special. Green beans with solid potatoes side dish didn't have much taste.
Didn't have dessert but the pecan pie ala mode served right next to us looked great.
Service was good but required asking other servers to help as our guy was very busy with others.
New menu items - seared tuna and crispy crab-boil potatoes are INSANE!!
Tables were way too close together. They had white table cloths on the tables in the old building. Now they just have truck stop diner tables really close to each other. The sun was shinning through the top window. The manager said it will last for only five minutes. Why not buy a shade so it doesn’t shine through the window at all.
Campechama not as food as Kirby location
Great service and delicious food!
Good place for business casual lunch. Not too chic, not too noisy, and great food quality.
after going to the original one next door, for many years ,this was a real letdown. The character and ambiance of the original one, made it my favorite place to go in Houston. Now the new place is in the same league as Pappas seafood or any of the other cookie cutter corporate seafood places in Houston. At least I have the memory of many good times at the previous Goode Co. I guess I'll start looking for another restaurant to replace it. I would not recommend it to my friends who would drive 60 miles to eat at the original Goode Co, as I'm sure I will find out as some as they eat at the new one.
Food and atmosphere is always great. Server was very attentive
Outstanding meal. Great service!!
Outstanding seafood with excellent service. A must go place.
Love love this restaurant. The food has always been great.
All good. Manger is very sweet and made us feel at home.
Food was good, was not served as hot as should be-very good service-very fair price
Well the new location was definitely a different experience from the prior (next door), while still great and welcoming. My family all loved the ambiance, food and drinks. The service was absolutely wonderful with Hunter and we just really enjoyed everything. Cannot wait to come partake in the food, ambiance and drinks once more — no occasion necessary.
We had a great meal thanks to the recommendations by our amazing server, Aaron. He recommended the red snapper special and some oysters (both excellent and we finished the meal with pecan pie. Aaron is very knowledgeable and helpful when choosing oysters and wine and we were very pleased with everything he suggested.
Great food, attentive service. I had one bad alcoholic drink. I sent it back to be fixed and it came back it was still bad. Won’t stop me from going back.
Poor tequila selections. Needs to get some more leading brands. The house selected Goode tequila Anjeo was thin and not enjoyable.
The campechana was good but not up to the original Westpark location.
Grilled red snapper was excellent.
Fried shrimp just a bit bland but ok but also not as good as original Westpark location.
Jonathan our server was great on offering suggestions. The redfish dip was incredible. As was the yellowfin and swordfish. Only wish we had room for dessert!
Excellent service and even better food !!!
Our waiter was excellent and very helpful. Excellent food!
Goode Company Seafood's new location near I-10 and Beltway 8 is not only light and beautiful, but even this guy with hearing aides could hear everything said at our table! Food was wonderful and our server was just right!
We had a group of 9 for my moms birthday! Our table was ready for us when we got there. We had a wonderful server who was super nice and helpful! Love the new restaurant! Food was delicious! Will definitely be back!
This new venue is not nearly as good as the old place. The noise level is too high and the seating arrangement puts you right next to the nearby parties. It seems to be catering to a younger crowd which we are not part of. The food service this time took forever also. The early attention by the waiter was great but the wait for our simple dinners was unacceptable.
Food was very good. The server Ali was not very engaging he looked like he didn’t want to be at work. Experience would have been great if we would have had a better waiter.
They have moved locations, and lowered their standard of what they waited to be. The menus had changed as well. All in all great food, but ambiance has changed. Our server Javelle was outstanding though.
We Went to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the food and service were exceptional. Our waiter was super nice and kept checking on us often
We did a late client lunch and it was a fantastic experience, loved the new place. Much better than the old place, liked the open concept, lots of natural light and we were able to actually have full conversation without yelling at one another like the old place. Our waiter was an effective communicator, very knowledgeable about the menu when we asked about the oysters he was actually able to ask us enough questions in order to make a recommendation and they were exactly what we wanted . We will definitely be back.
Really like to new location (next door to the old location). Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and provided great service. Goode Co. Seafood make my favorite gumbo. This time it was really good but was cold (only slight criticism). Thanks, -Paul
Good food and service. Will go back.
Friendly service great food drinks on point short wait for a table did I mention the good food the type of place you would come back better than Papadeaux's
Too noisy .
Sort chaos on the floor
Food still Good
Place has lost that neighborhood ambiance to become another crowed and noisy restaurant
Food was outstanding as it always in. The service was slow, not sure if it was the bar, kitchen, or being understaffed. I'll have to get used to the new digs.
It's good. Prices are fair for high quality food.
The old location food used to be better than the new one. Very organic looking place. Miss the old location. They must have changed the chefs! Make sure the hostess checked u in for Opentable! He didn’t seem to be very good at doing what he is doing. Sad.
