Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border.

Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque.

Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations.

A few margaritas on our patio and you've found your new casa sweet casa.

We made a last-minute reservation for a party of nine. Our service was amazing, our table was ready as soon as we arrived, and the food was delicious! Would highly recommend this place.

Longtime fan of anything Goode. Everything mostly meets the expected level at this place, save the restroom and the beer selections. Ladies’ restroom was trashed and there was no toilet paper to be found at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. Luckily, I always carry tissue. Beer selection was disappointing. Waiter knew nothing about what little they did have available. Wine choices also very limited, and I received sangria instead of the wine ordered. It was tasty, tho! Overall, this location needs a tweak to bring it to the impeccable level set by Jim Goode when he was alive.

We had a terrific dinner last night. Hector our server was friendly and efficient. One of the best servers we have experienced in a very long time. Only criticism is the drinks were loaded with far too much ice. When we finished the drinks the glasses still had ice to the brim! ALL ice, very little drink.

Service felt very rushed as if they were ready to move on to the next customer who would be replacing me after I left. Food was unmatched, Carnitas and Redfish on the Half-shell I would recommend to anyone. The menu reads for a couple of different items guacamole and The Cadillac margarita for example, that it is (served table-side) but I guess they were in too much of a hurry and we didn’t receive that portion of the service. The noise level is pretty loud so just be prepared. I would return simply due to the delicious food and I’ll be prepared next time to tell the waiter to slow down.

It’s been a perk as “regular” diners that our favorite table is readily available for our experience. The ability to “customize some dishes allows for a very good dinner. The manager has been very accommodating.

The Overall Rating was a 4. It would have been a 5 but the Grill was not working and menu options were limited. Service was great...restaurant was new to us and menu items served were very good. Thank you!
