Good Spirits Restaurant
Love Good Spirits, food is always amazing and a great value!
The food and service were fine. The noise level was VERY high
and the room was quite cold in temperature.
We returned again for onion soup as it’s really wonderful.
The rest of our dishes were also good and service was top-notch. A special neighborhood restaurant!
We made our reservations on open table for a party of 4. We asked for standard table seating. Although we were granted a standard table, it would have been nice to know ahead of time the table was going to be outside. It was a little chilly outside for Florida in January. We would suggest the restaurant clarify indoor or outdoor as well as standard and bar top table settings. The service was great. Happy we could bring a bottle of wine from our collection. We were pleased to find a lot of specials. The dishes our party of 4 ordered were tasty, however the halibut was a wee bit overcooked. Overall, a pleasant visit.
Business dinner with out of town clients. Everyone raved about their entrees! Delicious food! Great service! Excellent spot!
Nice discovery, we had an overall good experience. It was a busy night so overlooking a few small service issues and requests it would have been 5 star.
Pet Peeve: While I can understand some benefits to table side card processing, I would prefer to be presented with a check for review and not to have a busy server present me a device with a preselected tip amount, hovering over the signing process.
SO good. That’s really all there is to know.
Terrific as always. Well managed, excellent food!
Interesting menu, from burgers to Poke. The specials included venison and lamb. One of us had the tuna poke bowl and that was good. The other had Mahi Mahi, with passion fruit sauce. The mahi has very good, but not a huge portion. The passion fruit sauce was too sweet, and there was a bit too much of it. The mahi came with "celery root potato mash," which didn't sound good, so I swapped it for the "smokey mash potatoes." Not a good choice since the smokey mash potatoes included both regular and sweet potatoes (which are not listed on the menu), making the combination of the sweet potato mash and passion fruit sauce inedible. Not sure if I'll try the restaurant again . . . On the other hand, our waitress did tell us that Wednesdays they have half-priced bottles of wine, so maybe we'll go back and just drink.
Dinner with the family. Atmosphere was perfect and server did a great job in guiding us through the menu and specials! The food was amazing! We had the fresh shrimp cocktail and stone crabs to start, followed by the filet, grouper and salmon entrees. Dessert was the very delicious beignets that the chef prepares fresh every day! Can’t say enough great things about this place. Really a hidden gem.
So good! All you need to know!
Good Spirits is in a great location - near Las Olas, Broward Center, etc. They have a varied menu - from toasted cheese sandwich to rack of lamb & everything in between! We were there on a Saturday night and it was not busy. It can get a little loud - but when we asked our server if they could turn down the music, they did & it was better. Our server was a little slow - he was working multiple tables & it took him a while to get back around to us when we wanted drinks or were ready to order. All in all, though, a good experience & we’ll go back.
All was great-we were having dinner before a show8 people- and we arranged an early dinner to do so. Service was very good- food was delish- fresh, large portions and a wide variety of foods to meet everyone’s dietary restrictions and preferences. Servers were knowledgeable and helpful. Food was brought to the table as the dishes came out of the kitchen-Only complaint was that the meals were staggered by as much as 5-7 minutes. Would recommend!
Great dinner! My husband and I just love this place! It’s casual but classy, festive but not too loud. The biggest plus - the food is amazing!!
Food very good- nice additions to standard dishes like salmon and burgers. Salads very good and had fried burrata and tomatoes. Carrot cake fresh and delicious. I like outside seating particularly the softer padded green chairs. Numerous dogs made for a little yipping noise but mostly I suggest a softer sound track of music. I’ve been several times before and eaten indoors which is loud as table seating is near kitchen. Booths are few but preferred seating.
I rate a 4 out of 5, 7out of 10 stars because the waiter was not very knowledgeable about the menu. He did not know nor wasn’t sure of the way the meal is prepared. My husband and I have allergies and always ask questions about the meals being prepared. I was expecting the waiter to offer alternatives or other meals to compliment our cravings. He acted as if we were burdening him with questions. The manager came to greet us and made sure our meal was ok. The champagne toast at midnight and DJ was good enough to complete the night.
Good Spirits is a bit of a hidden gem - due to the location tucked away off of Federal Highway, many people are unaware of it. Which is a shame as it is really quite good. The menu is varied, with a wide variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. The salads are huge - two of us shared the beet & goat cheese salad as a starter. For our mains, we had the miso sea bass. My foodie companion declared it delicious. We were too full for dessert, but from past visits they are good as well.
The dining room is very nice- restrained and tasteful. The servers worked together so that we were never long without water, silverware, etc. Overall a new favorite in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Quaint little place right off Federal in Ft Lauderdale. Great ambiance, great food, and easy parking
Excellent restaurant and bar just off the beaten path in Fort Lauderdale. Beautiful bar with a great vibe, and the food (appetizers and entrees), drinks, service and ambiance were fabulous. Plus, they have ample parking in an attached garage. The bar area is partially open to the outside, so you can enjoy the weather on beautiful evenings like the one when we were there. Definitely check this place out for date night or to meet friends for drinks or dinner. You’ll love it.
Burger was spot on! Loved the robust pasta sauce as well. A friendly greeting from of the owner was a great touch.
Came back for Pot Pie Thursday
I had the Chicken - my partner the Beef Stroganoff
Owner Michelle Flanigan visited our table and recommended her Bignetts
They were light sweet and delicious
Good Spirits a wonderful personal experience
We’ll be back
Wow! What a great restaurant! My fiancé and I had lunch and couldn’t have had a better meal or service. He had the pot pie and it came out hot and delicious. I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese. It was excellent! My fiancé and I want to go back for a date night.
I stopped at GS for lunch with my fiancée the day after Christmas to get out of the house and unwind a bit. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was really great. I had a chicken pot pie and my fiancée had a tomato soup...both of which we would highly recommend.
All together a great stop for lunch and we’ll be back again for sure.
Sorry people, but unless you are looking to get robbed or accosted this is not your place. I gave it one star because the onion soup was good as was the burger. This restaurant is located next to a parking lot with aggressive homeless people (we did not know this). On our visit (Christmas Day eve, the 25th) we chose to sit outside because the Restaurant was freezing. While out on the patio waiting for our dinner we were accosted by an aggressive homeless man pushing a wheelchair. He grabbed my 80 year old father's shoulder and screamed for money and grabbed mine as well yelling for money. The restaurant did not come to our rescue until a patron intervened as asked the man if he could buy him dinner. The man started yelling, "I don't need food man, I need money. No one here has any money?" At that point the Owner (Frank) came out and ushered the man off the patio. After that, it was like it never happened. Frank, Manager (Joe), no one came to us to apologize, to see if we were ok. Then Frank got on his Fancy Motorcycle and left. As it turns out, the restaurant is fully aware of their homeless problem and usually has police around to help but since it was Christmas Day, there was no one. So you see, they were well aware of this problem and did nothing. We were all so scared and sick to our stomach we couldn't eat. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted that Good Spirits treated us this way. I would skip this one.
Great food and service
Excellent food and amazing fun atmosphere!
Food selection and quality is very good. Indoors the noise level is a concern but sitting outside was very comfortable. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.
Great place food was excellent we were 14 friends that go out every week to different restaurants this place was a Ten
We really enjoyed it will definitely coming back
We have eaten there several times and the food is consistently delicious. The halibut special was excellent. The fish was perfectly prepared and very moist. The chef is expert at combining the sides with the main protein. I wouldn't think of asking for substitutions. The servers are friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The Monday night burger special is not to be missed. And they have a great Happy Hour.
Great service and fabulous food! They definitely care about customers and about the quality of the food they present. Super delicious!
Apps & drinks were great! After waiting about 20-30 minuets for our entrees to come out the waitress came over to inform us they didn't have tuna. We had a show to get to so had to cancel the remaining orders. Really wish they would have told us much sooner.
Great food and service. A bit overpriced but probably worth it.
Our server Kate was great as usual and the food was delicious!
Dinner before the show and it was fantastic! I had the Sea Bass and my husband had the Giant Meatball. Server was so sweet and right on point.
really great food and service, they do charge per soda so remember that for next time.
Service was awful!
Sat waiting for ten minutes. Sat with dirty plates from our appetizers for ten or fifteen minutes. Waitress said she was very busy in the restaurant, we sat on the patio. Kept apologizing. Management never came to the table. One was serving food all night?
The perfect place
Great to eat at the bar
Decided to try Taco Tuesday’s at Good Spirits. The beet taco’s were out of this world and a bargain at that. Also had the best jalapeño margarita I’ve had in a long time. Definitely going back for more...
We live nearby but this was our first time and wow, did we enjoy it. They make a big deal about their creative cocktails and there were many delicious options. There was an octopus appetizer salad that was truly exceptional and it was served on a piece of slate. The presentation the way it was arranged on the slate was a work of art. Many interesting flavors and it was very tender. I almost always order an octopus appetizer when I see it on the menu and I've rarely had it this tender. For my entree, I ordered the double-cut pork chop, another dish I frequently order, and it was fantastic as well. My wife ordered the flank steak, which was very good. There were many good dessert options and I chose the carrot cake, which was moist and delicious. Noise level was high, but that's just how restaurants are these days. Service was very attentive and professional. We'd definitely recommend Good Spirits to friends and it's made our rotation of places we will regularly frequent.
Great food!! Our favorite spot in Ft Lauderdale! Beautifully decorated for the holidays!!
