Good Earth Roseville Ratings and Reviews
Both the salmon patties and the accompanying sauce were good, but extremely bland. The sauce, at least, should have a little tang to it.
The spinach salad was pretty and flavorful, but the diced mango, jicama, red peppers, and candied pecans were too small for the big spinach leaves, and a bit awkward to incorporate iand get everything together on a fork. Consider slightly larger pieces of these ingredients. Also consider a thinner dressing, one not so graty-feeling.
Two elements that brought down my overall rating, however, were potentially serious safety hazards, especially with your elderly or disabled clients: first was the treacherously icy parking lot, which made walking from my car to the restaurant extremely slow and nervous-making. Had I not had my cane, I would actually have turned around and gone home. I mentioned this to the staff person taking registrations, and again (after about a two-hour stay) to another staff person behind the front counter. Both said they would contact a manager, but after the initial two hours, nothing had been done, and I had another icy and potentially dangerous walk back to my car. (I don't know if the second staff member followed up or not.) All of your clients deserve a safe and stable route to your door.
Second, the ladies' restroom had paper towel litter and water on the floor, especially in the stalls--a possible fall hazard. The staff person I contacted went to inspect, but said only that the water would have been from people tracking in outside, and went back to her station--missing the larger point that any water, regardless of its source, should be mopped up immediately. Even chain restaurants like Perkins have a staff person checking and tidying up regularly.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
Normally a good restaurant. This evening the place was crowded, had a very bad experience with the waiter. Did not bring the appetizer. The waiter also dropped an item off the plate, however he did not tell us. When home, I find cranberries all over my coat. Will not be coming back until management addresses the wait staff and provides more space in the dining room. Tables are crammed together and almost not safe for people to come and go. If a person was in a wheelchair, they would not be able to go to this establishment.
I went for the blackened catfish. Bummer it wasn't on the menu/out of season. My shrimp was dry, as well as my vegetables. I shared with my first date that this isn't the norm, just a bad night perhaps. $63.00 for a dry meal that I couldn't finish nor wanted to take home to nurture it. I was disappointed but understand that bad nights happen. If this happens again I'm going to complain.
Every experience I have had here, the food has been terrific and the service has been terrible. My last experience, he took our order and said “would you like bread? We have to charge now.” If that were the only awkward moment it would have been overlooked. But every time we asked for something he would leave the table repeating what we asked over and over, I’m assuming to remember our order. When he brought our food to the table he practically threw our plates at us because they were so hot. Why are the plates so hot? Was our food sitting under the warmer? I don’t think our server smiled the entire time we were there. This is definitely the worst service I have had there but I have never experienced good service here.
After waiting for quite a while our main course came before the soup. I had to ask for the soup from the server. The waiter finally checked back with us and said he got busy and forgot about the soup. After finishing our meal, which was dried out, we had to ask another waiter to go track down our waiter for the bill. To top the evening off as I left I stopped in the bathroom and there was no toilet paper! Disappointing, I enjoyed Good Earth for many years but recently has gone down hill.
I have been at this location a few times and this is the first time I’ve had to send a dish back to be recooked. I usually order the ‘just right for you’ 3 course meal monthly special and this was the worse one I had seen. It was a salmon filet on a bed of wild rice with cranberry sauce and green beans. The dish I received - the fish was over cooked and rubbery and it was plated with one 5 green beans. I asked for the dish to be sent back. The manager and the server were very accommodating, and the second time I received my food, the fish was excellent and had more green beans.
Our table was ready when we arrived. The service was good. The server came back right after the last straggleers of the group showed up. Our orders came out quickly, accurately, and hot. Have been here once before many years ago but would definitely come back again more often.
I absolutely love good earth! Food is always amazing and the staff is great!
It needs a good remodel though and the parking situation should be remedied somehow.
I end up parking on the west side parking lot and am always a little nervous that I may get towed. They should work with the businesses across the street and make some sort of sign so folks know it's ok to park there.
They were super-busy with a bus load of athletes, and then a tour bus load that arrived shortly before we did. We were so thankful to have made an Open Table reservation! The serving staff were really working hard, very apologetic for wait-time, but it wasn't that long. Surprised that Good Earth no longer serves a bread-basket to munch on while you are waiting, unless you pay extra for it. Guess I don't really need the extra calories, lol, but Good Earth has done this for as long as I can remember. (which is 30+ years, just saying!). Not a deal breaker though.
I have been enjoying your Autumn Wrap, for years. It is my favorite! I have actually groomed my daughter to like it too. She and I both ordered this item during our last visit. We were disappointed to find that the yams are no longer mashed, but cut into cubes, within the wrap. It seems to have made it less delicious? Also, the wrap is served with cranberries on the side. They used to be sweet and tasty, but now seem pickled and vinegary? With these two changes made to our favorite meal served at Good Earth, it looks like we will need to find a new favorite?? Bummer.
Good Earth provides a reliable experience. Healthy food options, good service, reasonable price and a place where you can have a good conversation without shouting and straining to hear your companions. Whenever I suggest it as a dining option, people respond positively. Make a reservation and plan to arrive before the rush. Parking can be a challenge at peak times.
I am quite familiar with the Good Earth in Edina so I would say this one is more open, less nooks and crannies . The food is very good and the service was excellent. Its good to have a reservation as it gets very busy . It is a great location and experience and we will probably go back again soon.
Good Earth Roseville is our favorite restaurant for celebrating wedding anniversaries and birthdays for my wife and me. We were surprised to learn the complimentary bread plate was no longer served--unless purchased, but we can do without the extra calories.
My girlfriend and I came here for a Saturday date night. One of her friends recommended this place.
I ordered the 3 small portion meal: autumn squash soup, apple chicken entree, and fruits. The portions were smaller than I thought, but it was filling. The soup was fantastic; I almost ordered another cup! She ordered coconut curry chicken. It exceeded her expectations.
The only downside was it took 15 minutes for a waitress to see us after we were seated. She was extremely apologetic and gave us a dessert on the house. It was handled professionally.
My spouse and I took a group of my students to the Good Earth--we had dined there many times when we lived in the Twin Cities, but we were back in town for a competition at the University of Minnesota, so we decided to take the students there on the theory that it was still a great restaurant. We were not disappointed. With a large group, the menu can satisfy many different palates, but it is especially good with vegetarian options and entrees for others who wish to eat a healthy diet. Our server, Jennifer, did a good job of managing of rather rowdy group; the good came out quickly, despite the fact there were 10 of us, and the ambiance of the place hasn't changed. It's not a fancy place, just one that serves delicious, healthy food at a reasonable price--which is why my spouse and I always liked it.
