Good Earth Edina
The Good Earth, however, receives plenty of adulation --- from critics impressed with our commitment to top ingredients, to a loyal clientele that make the Good Earth their first choice for hearty, healthy eating. Both locations offer a diverse menu ranging from comfort food classics to fiery curries. Yet it's not just the cooking that earns accolades.
"Good things come in the attitude of the servers, who know the menu and do everything they can to enhance your dining experience; and the airy, pleasant feel of these spaces that were smoke-free long before it became PC."
Consistently high quality food with excellent service
server was excellent! However the kitchen was slow...we waited an hour for food.
The four of us all liked our dinners. This month's "Just Right for You" meals were nicely planned. Our server, Mai took good care of us, but didn't intrude. We all love Good Earth!
My blueberry pancakes were excellent. The service was great. The ambience was lovely.
Unfortunately, our food was cold to the touch. When we told the server, she took the plate back and returned within a couple of minutes. The food had been put in the microwave! Still cold. The meal was 45 dollars for simple egg dishes that were served cold without apology. Gross. As we were getting ready to leave, the table across from us received their food...you guessed it...cold. They called over the manager who took the meals back to be redone. This lovely, healthy, and expensive place has gone downhill. Very disappointed.
Good Earth never fails to disappoint me in the selectin of menu items and quality of food served. I only wish there were a location near where I live south of the river!
We always love the food and today was no exception. As it is always busy we made a reservation. When we arrived there was a fairly long line so my wife went to the hostess and told her we had a reservation since we were told to check in when we arrived. She replied “ I have a line of people” and though we were treated as if we were butting in we simply replied that we were just checking in as we had a reservation. She very coldly said “ get in line”. We were embarrassed as we assumed a as lol the people in line had reservations. We watched and in fact none of them had reservations. Our wait wasn’t excessive and our server was wonderful. I asked our server if the hostess was new and she said that she had been there over 10 years. We will obviously go back, but it makes one question the point of a reservation.
We went so we could each have our favorite - mine is the Almond Tuna melt, his is the Cashew Chicken melt. Very good and satisfying! The wait staff there is friendly.
Saturday morning, our poor dear server was swamped - I think more servers on weekend brunch shift would be a no-brainer.
Food was good, but not great. Paying more attention to little details could make such a difference -- like the hot peppers being served in such thick slices (I had to cut them up myself, yikes, who can eat that huge of a piece of jalapeño?), or providing such a tiny amount of salsa, and the salsa itself being mostly runny liquid except for a couple very large chunks of tomato. These things all add up to good but not great -- and, that is what figures into, hmm, come again, or not?
That said, I did, appreciate having gluten-sensitive options!
Good Earth offers a pleasant atmosphere, provides consistent service, and has a great menu. I was in a group of four, three of whom loved their food and one who didn't love it - me. It was off the seasonal menu and, while it sounded fabulous, I guess it just wasn't for me that day. Otherwise 99.9% of the time, Good Earth is my go-to and food is excellent.
Hey where were my points did not receive !
Great meal with adequate service. The one thing that I was disappointed about was there was no recognition of this being a special birthday even though I-noted that in the reservation request.
This was my first time at Good Earth. I'll start with the positives- the juice bar & food was delicious in a beautiful restaurant. Areas needing improvement relate mostly to service. There was not a hostess at the desk with a line of people. I went to the second desk and people were chatting and ignored my presence. I had to ask the server for water twice. They switched servers. The first one seemed stressed, the second one never smiled. When my plate arrived, I was shocked at how tiny the chicken was. The Bellagio broccoli stalk was twice the size. The tiny chicken with mango salsa was delicious but smaller than the size of my palm. The hostess seemed to hover as if wanting to hurry us out during lunch. I will go again. The food & restaurant was so good. I'm hoping the service staff was just having a bad day. I wonder if there chicken is always so tiny. The meatloaf piece was quite large.
Worst service we're ever had at a resturant. The server wasn't organised. The manager was rude and not supportive towards the server. The food was terrible. We will never return.
Great coffee, love the ten grain pancakes. Sorry to see they no longer offer breakfast specials.
We each had a grain bowl, which was good but rather lacked flavor; I think it could have benefited from more citrus flavoring. Very large portions. Great service. Love that we have this option in the Twin Cities.
Our waitress was amaizing!
The food was excellent. We had a good meal and were not rushed.

Eat before going to a movie
Slow service, but good food. Would attend again and refer my friends.
I ordered an egg white basil omelet like I had ordered once before, with Mozarella cheese. However, There was no cheese in it. The waitress was very nice and they comped my bill. I was disappointed because I ordered the same thing when I was there awhile ago and I loved it.
' Thank you for comping it. Otherwise, I always love the Good Earth for breakfast , lunch and dinner.
Went for a ladies brunch and was pretty disappointed. The hostess was unfriendly and non-smiling, ambiance did not exist, the booth seating was tight and uncomfortable, the waitress appeared at our table infrequently (meaning coffee was rarely refilled), the food was bland and boring (not sure how one messes up a classic breakfast of eggs, sausage, bread, and potatoes... but it happened!), and I paid a few dollars more than I would have expected for said classic breakfast and empty coffee. So, no; would not recommend.
We had a 4 year old and an infant with a car seat and they were very accommodating.
Delicious breakfast! Very good gluten free friendly food.
The food was delicious and a huge portion. One thing I would recommend is sharing with someone else because the portions were way too big for one healthy person. I loved everything I ate and drank!
A perfect place to meet friends...a pleasure to return over the years and always have expectations met of the same high level of food and service.
We were eating on the patio. Service was generally slow. Server was very pleasant, but we had several things that were “off”.
Ordered the egg white omelet, but asked for feta cheese to be added. When the item arrived it was cold and no cheese had been added.
We also wanted to order a scone or muffin to share and it took several trips back and forth for our server to give us our options and ultimately, to deliver the muffin. Which was okay.
My husband ordered coffee near the end of the meal... and received tea.
Because of the timing, i decided not to wait for a replacement omelet-the server took my omelet off our bill and gave us the muffin complimentary.
Just felt like a mediocre / subpar experience.
For lunch yes, breakfast NO. French toast was dry and without flavor.
I would recommend this place. It's a bit pricier but you truly get what you pay for. The food, selection and quality are exceptional.
Great time sitting on the patio. Josie took very good care of us!!
All four of us had a perfect meal. The gazpacho and cream of mushroom soups were delicious. Two of us chose the "Just right for you" meal and asked the cook to take care that the fish was not overdone. (It is difficult to cook small portions of the protein correctly.) It came, perfectly done, with a lovely sauce and vegetables. Our very personable waiter, Mark, took wonderful care of us and our special requests. Good Earth is careful to hire good waitstaff and Mark is one of the best we've had.
I came for breakfast with three friends. Two had never eaten there before. Each of us found something on the menu, and each of us enjoyed our meal. We will definitely return.
The food is always good but our waiter was horrible. Had to get the waiters attention to order, ask for refills on coffee and water. Did not meet our expectations.
My friends really enjoyed their meals. I ordered the Mongolian Beef stir fry, flavors very good. Meat was supposed to be pink,it was well done, very tough & dry. The others. Had Turkey Meatloaf & other had grilled Chicken Salad, both good.
Wonderful as always!
The menu had something for everyone in our party of 7 people! Good service and very comfortable dining room.
Beautiful quite patio! Great breakfast dining experience!
I love Good Earth and have been going there for years. Lately the original tea has had a weak flavor. I’m not sure if they’ve switched teas, or they’re not brewing it long enough. The tea is one of the main reasons I stop there, so it’s been disappointing
This place never disappoints! Healthy options and outstanding tea!
