Good Earth Edina
The Good Earth, however, receives plenty of adulation --- from critics impressed with our commitment to top ingredients, to a loyal clientele that make the Good Earth their first choice for hearty, healthy eating. Both locations offer a diverse menu ranging from comfort food classics to fiery curries. Yet it's not just the cooking that earns accolades.
"Good things come in the attitude of the servers, who know the menu and do everything they can to enhance your dining experience; and the airy, pleasant feel of these spaces that were smoke-free long before it became PC."
Good Food. I suggest to go with one pancake. I ordered the short stack and that was one to many.
Lots of choices on the menu. I love that the food is healthy and still tastes delicious!
Good food and value for money
Still around 40+ years later and still great at what they do. Highly Recommended.
I enjoyed my time at the Good Earth with my 2 friends. It was a time for celebrating and reconnection, and we found the food choices were just what we needed, and the service was terrific. Our waitress was respectful of our time together, and yet, continued with that wonderful tea and timely food delivery.
There were gluten free and dairy free options. I also saw that there were vegan options as well. Thank you Good Earth!
Great experience. Very friendly hostess who actually said more than "how many" and "this way". Server was attentive and food was really good!!!
Had a perfect table for private conversation .
Definitely not up to par for Good Earth. The server was super rushed even though it didn't seem that busy. The food was okay but not great. We made a reservation for 10:45 because we could not get anything later, but by the time we left, there were scores of empty tables. Disappointing.
Bday for my niece
Great 10-grain pancakes with blueberries, and very tasty, not too salty, bacon. They were very busy, but the waitress was friendly and as attentive as possible.
We have always had a very nice experience at the Good Earth. I loved their GE tea. So smooth and relaxing. I had their flat bread, I like to add my own ingredients; chicken , tomatoes, olives, feta cheese. With some ranch dressing for zest. My wife is a vegetarian and can always find something good. We love this place! We have come here every Friday for the past 3 years. I highly recommend the food, the relaxing atmosphere and their Great wait staff. Great for both small groups or a romantic night out. Good healthy choices in a wonderful environment.
Slow service, but wait staff had many tables to serve. GE Burger was delicious, very pink tho ordered to be no pink. Quiche was bland. Good soup.
Good option for healthy breakfast and good location.
Ordinarily, Good Earth is quite good. We had a breakfast of lukewarm coffee, barely warm eggs and bacon, cold roasted potatoes which we sent back and came with no serving spoon. Toast was toasted on one side only and there was brown pineapple in fruit cup. Grapefruit juice and muffins were very good.
Host was rude. Server started great then ghosted for literally 45 minutes; I think he forgot we were his table. Food was great, as always. Never had a bad experience here before, so hopefully it was an anomaly, though I don’t frequent this place.
What happened to the menu? I opened the second page...it no longer exists.
My son and I decided to split something...as soon as I said that the waitress became even less pleasant. The restaurant was completely empty. You would think she would be grateful for the business. I am a very gracious tipper, and would have made up for the fact that we split a meal.
She made our dinner miserable.
Truthfully, I was tempted to walk out.
I am sad to say that we won’t be returning. It used to be one of our favorites.
Bad decisions all around Good Earth.
Consistently high quality food with excellent service
server was excellent! However the kitchen was slow...we waited an hour for food.
The four of us all liked our dinners. This month's "Just Right for You" meals were nicely planned. Our server, Mai took good care of us, but didn't intrude. We all love Good Earth!
My blueberry pancakes were excellent. The service was great. The ambience was lovely.
Unfortunately, our food was cold to the touch. When we told the server, she took the plate back and returned within a couple of minutes. The food had been put in the microwave! Still cold. The meal was 45 dollars for simple egg dishes that were served cold without apology. Gross. As we were getting ready to leave, the table across from us received their food...you guessed it...cold. They called over the manager who took the meals back to be redone. This lovely, healthy, and expensive place has gone downhill. Very disappointed.
Good Earth never fails to disappoint me in the selectin of menu items and quality of food served. I only wish there were a location near where I live south of the river!
We always love the food and today was no exception. As it is always busy we made a reservation. When we arrived there was a fairly long line so my wife went to the hostess and told her we had a reservation since we were told to check in when we arrived. She replied “ I have a line of people” and though we were treated as if we were butting in we simply replied that we were just checking in as we had a reservation. She very coldly said “ get in line”. We were embarrassed as we assumed a as lol the people in line had reservations. We watched and in fact none of them had reservations. Our wait wasn’t excessive and our server was wonderful. I asked our server if the hostess was new and she said that she had been there over 10 years. We will obviously go back, but it makes one question the point of a reservation.
We went so we could each have our favorite - mine is the Almond Tuna melt, his is the Cashew Chicken melt. Very good and satisfying! The wait staff there is friendly.
Saturday morning, our poor dear server was swamped - I think more servers on weekend brunch shift would be a no-brainer.
Food was good, but not great. Paying more attention to little details could make such a difference -- like the hot peppers being served in such thick slices (I had to cut them up myself, yikes, who can eat that huge of a piece of jalapeño?), or providing such a tiny amount of salsa, and the salsa itself being mostly runny liquid except for a couple very large chunks of tomato. These things all add up to good but not great -- and, that is what figures into, hmm, come again, or not?
That said, I did, appreciate having gluten-sensitive options!
Good Earth offers a pleasant atmosphere, provides consistent service, and has a great menu. I was in a group of four, three of whom loved their food and one who didn't love it - me. It was off the seasonal menu and, while it sounded fabulous, I guess it just wasn't for me that day. Otherwise 99.9% of the time, Good Earth is my go-to and food is excellent.
Hey where were my points did not receive !
Great meal with adequate service. The one thing that I was disappointed about was there was no recognition of this being a special birthday even though I-noted that in the reservation request.
This was my first time at Good Earth. I'll start with the positives- the juice bar & food was delicious in a beautiful restaurant. Areas needing improvement relate mostly to service. There was not a hostess at the desk with a line of people. I went to the second desk and people were chatting and ignored my presence. I had to ask the server for water twice. They switched servers. The first one seemed stressed, the second one never smiled. When my plate arrived, I was shocked at how tiny the chicken was. The Bellagio broccoli stalk was twice the size. The tiny chicken with mango salsa was delicious but smaller than the size of my palm. The hostess seemed to hover as if wanting to hurry us out during lunch. I will go again. The food & restaurant was so good. I'm hoping the service staff was just having a bad day. I wonder if there chicken is always so tiny. The meatloaf piece was quite large.
Worst service we're ever had at a resturant. The server wasn't organised. The manager was rude and not supportive towards the server. The food was terrible. We will never return.
Great coffee, love the ten grain pancakes. Sorry to see they no longer offer breakfast specials.
We each had a grain bowl, which was good but rather lacked flavor; I think it could have benefited from more citrus flavoring. Very large portions. Great service. Love that we have this option in the Twin Cities.
Our waitress was amaizing!
The food was excellent. We had a good meal and were not rushed.
Birthday announcement with Daughter
Eat before going to a movie
Slow service, but good food. Would attend again and refer my friends.
I ordered an egg white basil omelet like I had ordered once before, with Mozarella cheese. However, There was no cheese in it. The waitress was very nice and they comped my bill. I was disappointed because I ordered the same thing when I was there awhile ago and I loved it.
' Thank you for comping it. Otherwise, I always love the Good Earth for breakfast , lunch and dinner.
Went for a ladies brunch and was pretty disappointed. The hostess was unfriendly and non-smiling, ambiance did not exist, the booth seating was tight and uncomfortable, the waitress appeared at our table infrequently (meaning coffee was rarely refilled), the food was bland and boring (not sure how one messes up a classic breakfast of eggs, sausage, bread, and potatoes... but it happened!), and I paid a few dollars more than I would have expected for said classic breakfast and empty coffee. So, no; would not recommend.
